Middle of nowhere, shabby old fashioned room with very creaky four poster bed, with a bottom sheet and quilt, no top sheet, pillow cheap hollow fibre ones .Decor and furnishings were very dated, bedside drawer missing knob and unable to open. TV reception very poor, no WiFi in rooms only in public areas, some phone networks couldn't get a signal...

This review does not characterise the experience with us at all. It is interesting that the title to the very next review to this one is "Great value". There is definitely WiFi in the rooms, although we are still working out the kinks to our new system. These guests were on a special two night offer that represents excellent value...

We have been here before and never been dissapointed. We were in Room 1 - 4 poster, Jacuzi Bath and fabulous views. Food and service gets better each time, easy access to Bowness, Windermere and Kendal. Very considerate towards dogs, took his bed and he settled well, dog had his own room service (us) and was very happy too

We arrived for 3 night break, although my wife was poorly, so we checked out after 2 nights. We couldn't fault the hotel or staff, who made us very welcome. We anticipate a further stay later in the year, this time with our son and his partner. A very nice hotel and staff!! We will recommend to our friends.

We have just returned from a week-end break to the Lakes and stayed at the Damson Dene. Having seen the TV programme a few years back we weren't sure what to expect but I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. What a lovely little hotel. All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and the service exceeded that of...

We visited 7-9 March as two couples, with friends. The hotel was a little hard to find (thank you SatNav) but on arrival we were made welcome and assured we had not missed dinner. Our room was a little small and whilst the decor could be described as dated, the main thing I look for in a hotel is cleanliness,...

We visited the Damson Dene for a two night stay and what more can I say. The surroundings are beautiful, food was fabulous, rooms were clean and tidy and the leisure facilities were excellent. We found this place as relaxing and a definite place to visit again. The staff were all polite and professional, led by a great General Manager...

Our third visit here, and absolutely love it.the only thing that let's it down is the owner,I know times are hard but this is a great hotel with friendly staff and excellent food, but as much as Wayne the manager makes you feel welcome(and fly) it must be sooo frustrating when the hotel is in decline but food and staff are so...

Hello and thank you for staying with us again. You are quite right about our staff, but think you may be a bit too hard on the accommodation. Perhaps not as quickly as you may like, we are always improving the hotel and are working on medium term plans as well. Far from being in decline, we think the hotel...
