My whole inner family and I (6 people between the ages of 18-75) went down to the Riu Jalisco to get away from the cold Toronto weather and terrible snow. I have to tell you, it was nearly a perfect trip...nearly. First, I'll talk about the good things: Pros- - Entertaining night shows! (I haven't seen one review letting everyone...

My wife and I were there from Dec 1 to Dec` 15. Arrived at 2 AM, our room keys were ready to go, as was everybody else's coming off the airport shuttle. The sports bar burgers aren't the greatest. When we left, we put our bags in the courtesy room. Although there was no lock on it, there was no...

I just returned from my stay at the Riu Jalisco. I was so disappointed. I've been an expereinced 5* hotel traveller for many years. I've never expereinced a hotel like this. The hotel is run down. The food is the same everyday for breakfeast lunch and dinner. The beach water is dirty. The beach chaise chairs are broken and dirty....

We just got back from a nightmare that we turned into a decent trip. Our first night we were followed by security and while at the sports bar(only place to eat late) for 45 minutes all of our rooms were robbed. The only food at night is frozen hamburgers with tomato sauce & nachos. When we went to the front...

First time, went to an "inclusive resort." Never again to this one. The 3 main reasons: food (yes all buffet) is horrible, pools are not toddler friendly, and beach/pool overcrowded with people that fight for "claiming rights" on chaise chairs. This hotel has two main buffet restaurants w/mediocre food. Then they claim they have a "Japanese Sushi & "Steak House,"...

After reading some of the reviews of this hotel, we can honestly say we were a bit concerned as well given the recent posts. We stayed at the Riu from Jan 4th to Jan 11th. From the day we got there until leaving the only real complaint was that the weather cooled down at nights to the point where you...

This was my first experience of doing an 'all inclusive' resort package (as well as my first time back in Puerta Vallarta since 2000). And I wish that someone would have told me that all inclusive meant ALL BUFFETS and not-so great drinks! The resort itself was fine. The staff was friendly and very helpful, and the pool, beach and...

For the most part it is a good hotel. My only complaint is the family pool. It is very cold and 4 feet deep. Not great for little kids. Bring life jacket or water wings. It is a large resort, I would suggest bringing a stroller for little children. Average rooms have no bathtubs, just showers with adjustable shower head.

Neither myself nor my family will ever return to this hotel. I have never felt so unsafe in all of my life. After 3 of my families room were entered into and all of their money was taken while they were being followed by a very scary looking so called security guard. My oldest son was trembling out of pure...
