Nestled in a prime location with stunning beachfront views, Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta garners praise for its array of amenities, including excellent service and a diverse selection of dining and entertainment options, according to many guests. Despite the vibrant atmosphere that creates a fun environment, some guests note that noise can be an issue. While the cleanliness of the hotel is generally applauded, reviewers often suggest that the rooms could benefit from updates and improved pool maintenance. Furthermore, several guests feel that the hotel's value does not align with the high costs incurred.

If your looking to book a trip to Puerto Vallarta this is your place! We are definitely sad tonight is our last night. The Hard Rock has surpassed any of our expectations!! The location is great , located in Neuvo Vallarta. A beautiful newer upscale area .We always felt safe walking day and night. Puerto Vallarta is 20 km South( about 20 minutes) Taxi was 450 Pesos or 27.00 US . Buccerias is 12.5 km North 250 Pesos or 17US. The beaches are lined with golden fine sand ( no seaweed during our visit). The beach runs for miles going North, great for a long wal!! The check in was seamless and very friendly. We booked a double Ocean View room which was located on the 7th floor. The view did not disappoint. Sunsets are stunning!!! Keep in mind there is only a " French style" balcony so not set up for chairs and such. Really not a big deal to us.
The music playing was a great mixture and their walls are lined with all kinds of memorabilia. The pools have activities starting at 11a.m. The entertainment team is top notch The pool service was excellent 👌. There are 4 a la carte and 1 buffet restaurant. Also a pool shack that has huge beef burgers , hot dogs and daily special. They also have a great coffee shop with sweets, sandwiches and ice cream cones!! The stand out restaurant for us was the Mexican restaurant Fridas. Always was delicious with outstanding service!!! Absolute ROCK STARS of this resort: 2 amazing young ladies in concierge Isabel and Renata were outstanding, thank you for everything you did for us!! , they take customer service to the next level. For the amazing food ...Thank you Chef Isreal and Chef Rey. Stand out service from Araceli , so friendly and always smiling!! Thank you Augustin , Elias and Noemi for outstanding service at Fridas. I can't recommend Hard Rock enough and I look forward to my next stay!! We were treated like family and I will always remember that !!

Finally, after the pandemic, we were able to resume our family summer vacations each year. If I'm not mistaken, we have spent the vacations for at least 5 or 6 years and I must say that the quality has not decreased at all. My family and I always return satisfied and eager. return. The attention of the staff is always friendly, the pool waiters are always on the lookout if we are missing something, the facilities are impeccable with adequate maintenance to keep them in perfect condition at all times. This time, unlike the previous ones, we traveled in the low season, although you enjoy a hotel that is not full, we learned that you miss out on other amenities due to low occupancy, for example there is no longer a show in the hotel theater, the restaurants will not be open for the night. The 4 of us have dinner daily but rather they alternate the days of the week. What bothered me the most is that I didn't get the traditional barbecue or the fish market (seafood) that we had had on previous visits. Even so, the stay was unbeatable. The highest quality foods, we dined at Ipanema and Zen and all the super soft cuts of meat that almost melted in our mouth. What we liked most about this occasion was that we arrived on Friday, September 15, and independence was celebrated with a Mexican party with a buffet, mariachi, and a wrestling performance. My wife and I enjoyed it very much. The mariachi played and sang phenomenally. As always with my children we went for a walk along the beach on both sides of the hotel and we found that the hardrock beach is the best than the hotels on the sides, it is the cleanest, without stones or shells.
One thing that I would like them to change is the mattresses that are too soft, although there are those who like them that way, they are a little annoying when you go with your partner and he moves, the mattress moves like jelly. From there on out everything was excellent, the room was always clean, 24 hour room service with a decent menu and not just burgers like at Riu.
Ahh, a somewhat hidden attraction is the cafeteria that is at the entrance above the market restaurant, a good coffee and pastry after dinner is a must-see. Ahh, a recommendation, although the rate you pay is taxes and tips included, be generous with the waiters, bartenders, baristas, bellboys, etc., leave them even a small tip, they will thank you and will be able to continue giving you the best of themselves in their service. Lastly, although perhaps I shouldn't mention it since we are paying for a luxury hotel, the prices in the hard rock souvenir shop did seem excessively expensive to me, around 800 pesos for a printed t-shirt, and 600 pesos for a cap, the truth is that the brand is overvalued since these items, no matter how expensive the materials or manufacturing may be, for example, the t-shirt would not exceed 250 pesos and the cap would cost 200 pesos in manufacturing, but hey, the idea is It is that you are buying a status for the brand, it is my humble opinion

The snacks are very good, the beach is perfect for relaxing and the pools have a bit more movement. Juan's service in beach area is very effective and attentive. The beach was definitely my favorite area, the sand is soft and fine and the tide quite calm for swimming

We walked into the room and we were hit with an overwhelming smell of mildew. We didn't think much of it and just opened the door to the patio. We decided to relax in the in-room jacuzzi tub before we headed to dinner. We got the jacuzzi filled up, turned on the jets and black mold filled the entire tub while we were in it. This was the biggest issue about the room aside from dirty towels and dirty sheets which are easily fixed. Called down to the front desk and we were told that they would call us back. They never did. When we went to the front desk, we were told they didn't have any other rooms available except a downgrade to a lower floor. We were put right next to the party pool. Needless to say we didn't sleep that night and we left early that morning to scope out a different resort.

When we arrived back at the Hard Rock to check out, we were asked to fill out a sheet of paper with what was wrong, we talked to 3 different people all claiming that they would not refund us our money for the rest of the stay (6 days, mind you we hadn't even been at the resort for 24 hours), denied that the black crap floating around was mold (pictures attached) and instead tried to offer us a certificate to stay at the Hard Rock again. Hard no from us. We do not want to stay at another Hard Rock location and we will not be back.

I can’t wait to read the reply comment from Management that they copy and paste to each negative review. It will read something like: “Hello Sami 👋🏻, Thank you so much for contacting us. Remember we are here to help you solve all your inconveniences. Is there anything we can help you with? Can we please have your name and reservation number?” We have already talked to the customer service via email, phones calls and in person. We have disputed the charges with the bank.

Overall, such a disappointing way to start the trip. If you're going to spend thousands to go to a resort, pick a different one. The customer service we received at other resort was 1000000% better than staying here.

This resort is old, the food was horrible. I think I lost weight from not eating. Our room 4036 smelled like a sewer, we had to asked twice to be moved to a new room. Funny thing is they put us in a room right next to a room under construction with sanding, really bad paint fumes and appeared to be tile removal due to the sound of the banging. Thís was all happening every day before 8AM. Oh, and they cleaned the old room with the sewer smell and immediately put a new couple in the room. The main pool had towels on all the chairs by 8 AM and most were never occupied during most of the day. The music by the pool was so loud if you returned to your room you could not rest. The spa staff left us in the sauna and returned after we got out to look for her and then she left us in the jacuzzi, note it was not busy. The massage and facial I had were great. The resort is very dated. Two of the restaurants are outdoors so you sweat during dinner it was humid. The food was not good, The only good meal was the meal we upgraded and paid extra for. The food by the pool was not good either,
They did not offer to bring you food to your chairs by the pools. I will never return this is the worst Hard rock we have ever stayed at.

The worst of an all-inclusive hotel. Unhealthy and highly limited room service , which they said was their main eating option (no salads, grilled meats or much veggies).

Highly - rules oriented (for the kids club each time you check in or out there is a 5 minute process to fill in details including. Badge numbers , allergies , phone numbers; signatures even if you have documented all this 30 minutes previously but the kids walk out). The kids club closes at 5 and the gym closes at 6, and the pools close at 8 - all way too early.

Food in the buffets was also quite unhealthy, and the ambiance in the Brazilian restaurant was very sterile.

Nanny service requires you to stay on property.

My son also checked out early and they had no flexibility that anyone else could stay in the room without an additional 185 charge per night instead.

Would never return

Overall a great trip - the resort is beautiful. Everything is centrally located, with the restaurants equidistant from the main part of the resort. The pool is great, just a beautiful pool, with attentive bartenders. We only ate at two of the restaurants, but both were great. We relied on room service, but that was kind of weak, and very inconsistent. The rooms were nice and very comfortable, as well.

The biggest negative? I would almost rename this, the "Hard Sell" hotel. Literally from the moment we checked in, someone was there trying to sell us something. We checked in, and got our bracelets, and then turned around and someone was standing behind us with a tablet or clipboard, waiting to sell us. We initially thought that they were trying to be helpful, and show us around, but quickly realized that they were trying to get us to sign up for their Legendary club or book for next time. We had a long travel day, and we were tired, and just wanted to go to our room and relax....but they were trying to sign us up for next time, right away. The next morning, we got a call on our room phone to invite us to a presentation. Someone approached us at the pool, too. And when we were trying to check out, we had two people try to sell us the club as well. That was the main reason I would reconsider visiting again. You have a nice resort - let it sell itself! I came there to relax, not be in a sales presentation!

The best part? The rest of the staff who were awesome. Caesar at swim up pool bar always took care of us - he and the rest of the guys at the bar were great! And our waiter at the pool, Alex, was a rockstar in every respect. He was always checking in with us. Our cups were never empty. He was always concerned about whether we had everything we needed or not. He would check on us at the pool, and bring us drinks to the pool edge, and we would come back to our deck chairs to dry off only to find fresh drinks there and trash taken away. We actually had a great goodbye, where we hugged and fist bumped on our last day. Seek those guys out - you will NOT be disappointed!

Also, our room was always cleaned and well stocked, and the restaurant staff was very nice and willing to accommodate any request. Again, overall a great trip. Just lay back on the "hard sell", Hard Rock....

The service and staff at PV Hard Rock was exceptional! A special shout out to Trip advisor Ramon, who went above and beyond to secure us airport transportation when it was past the time we were supposed to register. Also, Sylvia of guest relations was very pleasant and helpful. One more praise for our housekeeper, Anna. She spotlessly cleaned and organized our room every day and was also very creative with the adorable towel animals she left daily at the foot of our bed. What’s more, she’s greeted us with a huge smile every time our paths crossed. We enjoyed a very pleasant vacation.

I didn't think that the hotel was 5 star as advertised. There was good and not so good. We had a lovely enjoyable holiday. The staff were friendly, and the majority worked really hard.

Our room was cleaned daily and was spotless, as was the hotel.

The pool was the same depth all the way around, which I really liked as I'm not a confident swimmer, but I knew wherever I was I could stand easily. We never had an issue getting a sunbed. The beach was clean and also had plenty of sunbeds.

We found it odd that the Market buffet restaurant was not open daily for evening meal (it was open for breakfast and lunch daily if you wanted to use it). Not all restaurants were open every night it was different each day and was difficult to track! Ciao (Italian) and Frida (Mexican) were excellent (excellent service and excellent food). We didn't like Ipanema (Brazilian), the service was not great and the meat very dry. Zen (Asian), was the worse for service, but the food was OK.

Sunset Bar. Excellent service and drinks, however, I found it strange that the drinks were served in plastic glasses in the evening. If you asked you could get a decent plastic one (which were fine), but otherwise they were thin cheap ones you get at a music festival I'm an adult on holiday, not a teenager at a rave !! Also, this is advertised as a family hotel and although we didn't have children with us, we didn't think it was right that they did not allow children in after 10pm. This would have been OK if there was somewhere else for them to go, but there wasn't. It's everyone's holiday, and all should be allowed to enjoy it, especially as I've said previously, it advertised to attract families. I should also add that there were occasions when I witnessed local families (with children) being allowed to stay in after 10 pm - which is not great.

Negatives aside we did really enjoy our holiday. Would I stay at this particular hotel again, if I'm honest, no.

Just came back from a 8 day trip with group of 16. Travelled with family and varied aged kids (13-23), with some food allergy and one special needs child. Attentiveness of the staff on every level was unparalleled. Took food allergies seriously, attended to our every ask quickly and correctly. When we arrived we had some AC issues which were quickly resolved. Staff here is kind, genuine and we never felt that tips were expected (but of course were appreciated and we did tip during our stay).

Hotel is smaller than most we have been too and bars closed at 1pm. This was a good thing bc our adult kids got up early to enjoy the beach. I think they are renovating soon,

Rooms are decent , but all have huge hot tub, space would be better used with sofa bed . All rooms face ocean , bathroom is nice , but rooms with double beds are smaller than we thought. There are not enough outlets in room and lighting is somewhat dim.

Food was better than most all inclusive with bkfast being my favorite. Four restaurants and one buffet option. We ran into the typical all inclusive challenges of ‘no reservations ‘ but there are reservations. You need to know the rules of the game. Dinners took time (2hours) , but food was better than average. Our kids used room service which they said came quickly .

Nightlife was really just the evening shows and SunBar. Only one night of karaoke and no silent disco which would have been nice, along with some other bar activities. We all had fun in the SunBar, but The hotel lobby is dead and another evening attraction would be a good addition.

Day time / pool activities were fun : bingo , music trivia / water ballon games .. Georgina was an amazing motivator . Easy to get brinks and lunch while at the beach and pool. Beach is very large and while we had rough waters , there are kayaks and paddleboards. Nice teen club and pickle ball courts,

Gym is small big has what you need : 3 treadmills, weights, machines .

Check in /out was easy for us , and concergie services wee helpful. We did two excursions and went into PV one time (35 min ride and Uber was average $30).
