I accidentally found this quirky and unique castle/inn, operated by a really interesting philosopher. I wish there had been time for us to talk about deeper things, but I think he was busy and tired from a long season- he was about to close for the winter. This place is about turrets and towers and trails in the sugarbush, and... More

I surprised my Prince and took him to Chateau Bahia to celebrate our first year together. The room was comfortable and clean. Add the music from the sound system and we were in total relaxation mode as we sat on the balcony overlooking the Baie des Chaleurs before supper. I will admit that supper had me nervous as we are... The highlight of our trip around the Gaspe coast was our stopover at Chateau Bahia. Nestled under the trees in a beautiful forest, built by the owner, his father and friends over a period of 15 years. Peaceful surroundings and a warm welcome. What we enjoyed the most was meeting so many wonderful people from around the world. In the... More

We went to Chateau Bahia in august. The room smelled humidity so bad, it was disguting. The ceiling was covered with dead squished mosquitoes. The beds were not clean and there was no shower inside. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

If you have ever built castles out of chairs and sheets in your living room, you have to appreciate Chateau Bahia. The proprietor, Jean, built this wonderland and my wife and I still talk about returning there (we were there in 2010). It is clean, unique and fun...worth a trip and a return.

This review is long overdue but I wanted to make sure it got written as we so very much enjoyed our stay! My husband and I happened to stumble upon this property on the day of our 5th wedding anniversary. We had been camping and due to some rainy weather, decided to forgo our tent for a night. We were... The host was very present, kind, interesting and a fabulous cook. The candle light diner with other guests is a special touch. We got to meet some people from all over the world. The castle is amazing. Merci Jean! Steph et Carole Quyon, QC

Truly one of the highlights of our trip to gaspesie! The castle itself possesses a distinct and welcoming ambience, the beach is just a block away, and Jean the host is a great conversationalist (in English and French). Also it`s a great deal. Don`t miss!

I stayed here a few years ago. When my wife and friends and I decided to do a trip to the Gaspe, I knew I had to take them here. When you drive through the forest and get your first glimpse of the castle, it's like stepping into a fairy tail. The owner has spent years building it and adding... More

Auberge at Chateau Bahia is one of the more fascinating places my wife and I have visited, and this has as much to do with the proprietor as it does with the fabulous food he prepares or the intriguing and unique castle he has built. The complex contains a camping area, a hostel dormitory, and the castle, complete with parapets... More
