We were taken here by friends, and it was a real gem. You rarely find this type of pub in existence any more. I was surprised by it's old world charm where the beer was served from barrels "gravity" style, situated in the bar and there was a micro brewery attached. We had to try their own beer and it...

A great traditional country pub with its own micro brewery - what can be better - the ales are first class. Small menu of traditional fare is perfect for a cosy afternoon in front of one of the fires and a few pints. Just has to be done. Nice garden also.

Simple but cosy surroundings, friendly staff, hearry fare and great (and great value) ales from their brewery next door. Also a firm favourite with local cyclists look for a port a storm, or just a convenient stop off point between the Itchen and Meon valleys

We visited this pub after over a year absence due to personal reasons and were immediately greeted with "Hello, haven't seen you for a while" and good catch up. This really is a proper old pub run by a family that have been there for many years, with a roaring log fire, beams to bump your head on, wonky floor...

Visitors with some friends and found that the pub and beer was a nice place to visit although the staff behind the bar could be a little more polite. Food was nice and tasty but please get there early to ensure you get served quickly.

OK, the food is not the finest cuisine, but you won't get a better ploughman's lunch for miles around, and the beer and cider is simply wonderful. We were there on a lunchtime and received a warm welcome. No complaints at all.

We visited the Flowerpot with friends just for a drink on way back to Morn Hill campsite. The re was a good range of craft beers, brewed on the premises and served directly from the barrel behind the bar. There is also a choice of regional ciders and a couple of lagers. Shorts, wines and soft drinks complement the wonderful...

Called in here early Monday evening after a bit of a struggle finding it. Of course, had I approached Cheriton from the A272 it would have been about the first building I came to! There were a few people in this light, comfortable, uncluttered two bar pub with scrubbed-top tables and plenty of reading material for the lone visitor. I...

after seeing this pub in good pub guide we decided to take a visit, was not disappointed!! Unlike some country pubs we did not get stared at as if we were intruding aliens when we walked through the door, we were greeted with warm smiles from staff and customers alike. Their real ales on offer were excellent quality and value....
