We have just returned from a 3 day stay at the Devonshire and have to agree with many of the recent reviews - the service fails to deliver, and it certainly is very expensive at £160+ a night for B&B. Service and ambiance need to be perfect when a pub/B&B is charging top rates. On the upside..... a great array...

Good food, breakfast being my favourite, excellent wine list.Staff work tirelessly, the pub itself is very cosy with the brasserie being a good contrast by being modern and light. Rooms at Dove cottage are the best rather than staying in the pub itself.

My sister and I decided to visit Peak District and Chatsworth House while on vacation in the U.K. We stayed in a room in a building that was a short walk from the main hotel. We liked this location as it gave us a ground floor room, was most likely quieter than a room in the main hotel, and had...

My wife and I went to Chatsworth House for the day which was well worth the visit. We had booked to stay here for the night. On arrival we were greeted and shown to our room which was luxurious. We had our evening meal there which was very good and well presented and the service was impeccable from start to...

Booked last minute for horse trials and dogs allowed. Room in house down street to pub. Staff young and knowledge limited and matter of fact. Room describried as luxurious over telephone hence the hefty price tag, it was only adequate and certainly not value for money.

Charming cosy pub, actually it's more of a restaurant and hotel. Appeared rather formal upon entry with the barman welcoming and friendly. 🙂 Took advantage of the seats out front to catch the late afternoon sun ☀️

This was a really disappointing experience because although the room was clean & the food in the restaurant good all the things that should make a stay at a place like this were missing. Crammed into an eating space I guess intended for drinkers or walkers the fabric of the furniture was worn & torn. The service was very poor,...
