We had a lovely time at the Pack Horse Inn in New Mills. Great food and excellent selection of ales. Helpful and genuinely friendly staff. Fair prices. All the right conditions for a superb meal out. Thank you :)

Had a lovely three night stay in this traditional Inn, it is a little out of the way but definitely worth it. We had an executive room and it was perfect for us as quiet with gorgeous views from both windows. Breakfast is very good the staff are really helpful and friendly too. We enjoyed two evening meals and the... More

We chose the Packhorse based on previous reviews and the fact that it was central to an area in Derbyshire we had previously not visited. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the young staff who were both professional and personable and looked after us throughout our stay. The pub is located on the outskirts of New Mills... Stayed here one night as we had travelled north to attend a funeral the following day. Reviews had all been glowing and I have to say they weren't wrong! When we arrived the pub and dining room were packed with early evening diners which i thought was unusual for a Sunday. They have obviously got the right balance of warm... More

A delightful and extremely cost effective B&B pub, nestling on the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District. Our good sized and clean double executive room was nestled in the gable of the roof with impressive views to the East over the moors. As the inn is located outside New Mills to the north, the room was very quiet at night.... More

I have been staying in a lot of very good places lately, but the Pack Horse Inn was still an absolute treat. There was something old fashioned about it. The service was remarkable. Staff just could not do enough to be helpful, including offering, and then giving, me a lift to where I was working They were concerned about me... More

We booked a two night stay based on the trip advisor reviews and I am pleased to say we were not disappointed. A traditional pub with rooms we had opted for an executive room as a treat to ourselves. The room was spacious, tastefully furnished with a large sleigh bed made up with good quality bedlinen. A bowl of fresh... More

We stayed here with friends so that we could attend a festival wedding at Linnet Scout camp (we really didn't want to camp) Our room was in the stable block and was a lovely surprise. It was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well equipped even down to the fresh milk on the tea and coffee tray. We would be... More

We called in for a pint and an evening meal after a long walk around New Mills. It was nice to stumble across the Pack Horse since we were ready to put our feet up. The staff were friendly and efficient, there were several real ales on offer. The food was good solid pub-grub fare, but also with a range... More

Our second trip to The Pack Horse (last time was 2014). Glad to see nothing has changed - lovely pub with good choice of beers and even better - proper pub food! Excellent accommodation and helpful, friendly staff. Highly recommended - this won't be our last visit.
