usually by May 1st. you can call a National Park visitor center to find out details. I live up their and they try to shoot for May long weekend. BUT...always carry a jerry can. Once you leave Lake Louise, there is no gas until Jasper. over 300 km. Stop in at Lake Louise visitor center and see if they have an update and they can also call us at the Parks Canada gate nearby the Crossing resort. good luck.
