The Moose Hotel and Suites garners accolades for its friendly service and array of amenities, including rooftop hot tubs and pools that guests find exceptional. The cozy fireplaces and modern design contribute to a warm atmosphere, complemented by the hotel's cleanliness.
While nestled in a prime location near downtown Banff, some reviewers express concerns over the value, finding the pricing steep relative to room quality. Despite comfortable rooms with scenic views, noise and accessibility are occasional points of contention.

This hotel is unigue because the rooms have a balcony on one end but to enter and exit your room you have to go outside the other end and walk around on an outdoor pathway then enter into a lobby to catch an elevator to go to the pool, gym, outdoor hot tubs and even the lobby. Therefore I suggest you bring flip flops to use going to the hot tub and pool and even an outdoor sauna, as you will be wet and have to return outside to get back to your rooms. Bring other shoes and slippers because the flip flops will stay wet all day in your room. In winter the walkways can get covered in a bit of snow and you have to walk on that. There is no washroom on the main floor reception area, you have to go to the back of the onsite restaurant and go up to the mezzanine floor for that. Just a bit inconvenient after a long drive.
We stayed in a one bedroom king suite so thats all I can review. It was realy nice, decor was outdoorsy...had a fireplace, kitchenette with bar fridge, no freezer, had a microwave, kettle and a one cup coffee maker, they supplied the one serving coffee grinds in a sealed coffee filter as many as you want. We brought some snacks and one freezer meal which we microwaved easily, otherwise ate out, stayed 3 days. The Pacini on site restaurant food was just ok not great, but nice atmosphere. There are many other restaurants within walking distance. The Hotel gave us a three day Roam Bus pass to use but we ended up walking everywhere as the hotel is situated nicely on the main road in Banff. You are allowed to use the underground parkade and you will find luggage carts there so its convenient to load up and use the elevator to get to your floor, but once out of the elevator you still have to push the cart outside onto the walkway and find your room door. In our suite we had a gas fireplace with a timer in the living room, a small 2 person table with 2 chairs and a couch with footrests that could turn into a coffee table if needed. The separate bedroom had a king bed and the sheets and pillows were very nice, the bathroom and shower were very nice too, could suggest hooks in the shower for wet bathing suits to drip.
The personnel were friendly and very committed to making your stay comfortable, ask for anything like housecoats and they comply quickly. The housecoats are great for going to the hot tubs. May I add the hot tubs and sauna are on 4th floor roof open air so the view of the mountains is spectacular! We will return as soon as we can!
P.S. They told me the tap water is drinkable and it did taste good.

I love this hotel , this was our yearly trip to Moose Hotel as we love to go back every March for a weekend stay. We stayed in a king suite so we get a bedroom, living room, ensuite bathroom and a kitchenette with half fridge, coffee maker, microwave and toaster, also kettle. They supply coffee, tea, plates, silverware, bowls and cups and glasses, dish soap and a kitchen towel. There were ample bath towels and when you go to the outdoor hot tubs there are towels provided. Also we had 2 housecoats provided in the room and used them to walk to the hot tub and back to the room. The indoor pool is inadequate, tiny but ok for young kids. There is an outdoor Sauna along side the 2 outdoor hot tubs which are wonderful, one is hotter than the other so you have choices and beautiful mountain views.
The hotel is on the main street of Banff so easy to catch busses, they provide free underground parking and keep rolling carts in the underground parking area to take your own suitcases and items to to your rooms. Be aware the king suites have their door entry outside on walkways which do collect snow and you need to walk into the hotel then outside onto the walkways to access your room door. We got used to it, but it is an inconvenience when it snows. I found the rooms well built so very quiet...we did not hear noises at night and slept well on the comfortable bed.
The in house restaurant called Pacici's has an Italian theme, but normal breakfast selection, my favourite was their Caesar salad, HINT: ask for the dressing on the side so you can adjust how much you want on your own salad. Yes they have a grill open for guests to grill bread themselves all day, it was not hot enough at breakfast so the bread did not toast up very well but at supper the focacia bread with garlic butter was perfect...they supply a variety of breads and condiments for the bread in a variety but its for guests when you order a full meal.

Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Moose over NYE. It had been years since we had stayed right in Banff but wanted to this time as it was our first time in the mountains as a family. We booked using AirMiles so options were limited. We were thrilled when the property turned out to be so welcoming and comfortable.
The lobby and public areas have a beautiful mountain feel with a real fireplace and log theme throughout. The entire property is very well maintained and very clean. There is ample heated underground parking included with the stay. We didn't ski this time but there was free ski storage in the garage.
The rooms are not large but certainly adequate and very comfortable. They are themed well with the rest of the hotel, VERY clean and modern. The bathrooms are spacious with a large walk in shower and with amenities from a local soap and shampoo supplier. (My daughters had to go to the store and buy some to take home!) Ours was a main floor room which had a small patio overlooking the street but we didn't use it.
A highlight for our family was definitely the top floor indoor pool and two large hot tubs overlooking the mountains. It was so relaxing to sit in the chilly evenings and enjoy a beverage (which seems to be OK if you used supplied plastic cups) overlooking the snow covered mountains. The indoor pool was small but adequate and warm. There was also a sitting area with a fire pit and a sauna.
The location is almost perfect; right on Banff Ave and about a 10-15 min walk to most areas of town. It was right by a public transportation stop, 5 mins for a grocery store and 10 min walk to liquor store and many restaurants and shops.
I would be amiss if I didn't recognize the outstanding front desk Team. Very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. Right from the moment we walked in they made us feel very welcome.
There is an Italian restaurant on site l. It never seemed too busy. We only stopped there for a drink and service there was a bit slow - not to the standard of the rest of the hotel. It seems a little understaffed so it may he's just been a specific time.
Overall, we loved this property and will definitely stay there again next time we stay in Banff.

We booked an additional hotel in Banff after our stay in Jasper was impacted by the horrible fires. We enjoyed our time at the Moose, which had well-designed and functional rooms, great public spaces, convenient central location, and free parking.
Breakfast also included a "bread bar" and grill to toast bread--a first for us. One minor complaint is that breakfast was very egg-centric--some additional options for vegans would be appreciated.

This hotel was terrific as a base for exploring Banff National Park. We had a one bedroom suite as a family of 5 and it offered two queen beds and a pull out couch in the living room. Kitchenette set up offered a coffee maker, toaster, microwave and mini fridge. We stocked up on breakfast, lunch and snacks at the IGA which is only a block away. Bathroom was modern and Rocky Mountain Soaps smelled so good I walked down the street to buy some to take home at their shop.
We didn't have a view, but did have a gas fireplace and an interior balcony to the courtyard. Staff was responsive in sending someone up with sheets to make up sofa bed. They also provided bear spray to borrow at the front desk with a waiver which was great since you can't fly with it.
Kids loved the rooftop pool and hot tubs. Firepit was also great with terrific mountain views.
Underground parking was convenient and free of charge (but TIGHT for bigger vehicles) and we always found a space.
We felt that this was a top notch option for our stay and were pleased. Only negative is that it's very pricey. But we were there during one of the busiest weeks of the season and there were limited options for a family of 5 in Banff (hotels won't allow 5 in a standard room).

I’m really glad we picked the Moose hotel for our Banff trip. Overall it was a good experience, the best parts being the hot tubs on the fourth floor and the lobby on the ground floor that had a proper wood-burning fireplace!
The staff is super friendly and helpful. The let us keep our bags with them after checking out for the entire day, and patiently helped us with a couple of requests the get stuff out of the bags. We also borrowed bear spray free of cost from the hotel (you need to pay only if you use it).
ROAM bus connectivity is great as the stop is just a 2 min walk from the hotel.
We had booked the room with two queen beds. Although the hotel website says it has a balcony, keep in mind that your room could be on the ground floor with almost zero view of anything but weed stems growing outside. The coffee in the room leaves a lot to be desired and the tea selection is not very good especially when we paid $650 a night. The coffee and tea is more like a $150 a night hotel.

Wonderfully warm welcome by the reception staff set the tone for our stay at the Moose. Directed to a complimentary heated garage on arrival, we checked into our room on the 2nd floor of the building. Our room was kept spotlessly clean by housekeeping and extra touches including a small fridge and a huge Moose art piece on the wall. The ski locker in the basement with a separate entrance, directly to the bus stop shuttle was great for the convenience but also meant no one was banging around the hotel in ski boots. There is a pay to use washing area with washers and tumble dryers in the basement, which is handy for longer stays or accidents with gravy at dinner time!! We had breakfast a few times in the hotels restaurant, the food was great and again staff were welcoming and warm. There are a couple of local coffee shops within a 5 minute walk, as the only thing negative I can say about our entire stay was the coffee was horrible! You’ll see from reading other TA reports that the hot tubs on the roof are AMAZING. Although busy, people seem respectful of space and relaxation and in the evening the views are wonderful while you rest your tired ski legs. All the staff should be proud of their teamwork. We had a super stay and hope to be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay over Christmas at this hotel. The hotel was decorated beautifully with Christmas cheer and our one bedroom suite had an electric fireplace for extra warmth. Our suite was comfortable, clean and modern, great for families. We loved the outdoor heated pools and fireplace. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Best of all was the location of the hotel. The local IGA was around the corner, the Roam Transit stop (and pick up for many shuttles) was next to the hotel entrance, the train station was close and it was an easy short walk to shops and restaurants. We couldn't have asked for more, highly recommend Moose hotel & suites.

Our cycling group of 13 all stayed at the Moose for a few days while we cycled in Banff. My husband and I shared a room and thought that it was very nice. Although not enormous, it had everything that was needed. Towels were plentiful and fluffy. Air conditioning worked well. Everything was very clean and functioning. I particularly liked the amenities in the room from Rocky Mountain soap company. I also liked the fact that they were not individual plastic bottles, but refillable containers. There were a few small issues with the room initially, but once I brought them to the attention of the front desk, they were satisfactorily fixed promptly and properly, which is all a person can ask for. The front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating anytime anything incidental was needed. We would happily stay here again if we were in Banff again; the central location was great, and upper level large hot tubs were a great place to meet other travelers.

Well located hotel in the centre of Banff and the coaches to Sunshine Village and Lake Louise go from outside. Great reception area with roaring log fire. We had a 2 bedroom suite. Good sized rooms and useful sitting area/kitchenette. Furnishings and carpets rather tired and worn. Bathrooms were fine; nothing amazing but OK. Housekeeping varied from excellent to cursory and superficial during our stay. The restaurant was good for breakfast provided it had no more than 15 people in it, otherwise it struggled to cope. Karolina was superb - really friendly, hard working and so helpful. Four of us ate there for lunch one day and the food was poor. None of us ate much of our meals and when we were asked if everything was OK and we said “not great, very average”, there was no further response. Why even bother to ask? We had a sick child during our stay and called down for room service at 19.15 one evening to be told they were too busy to help us and someone would call back in 30 minutes - no-one did. We ended up eating cereal that night. The ski lockers seem an afterthought, with the most complex padlocks known to man and needed the eyesight of an eagle to operate them. We gave up on those and used the cupboard in the room. Reception staff are a mix; some helpful, others only superficially so. The spa was great (however it is hard to get an appointment so if you intend to use it, book well ahead); excellent staff and very relaxing. The hotel has the best location of any of the better hotels in Banff but I would find it hard to recommend it. There are new hotels being built a little further out on Banff Avenue and if they are pitched at a similar price point and offer a shuttle service along Banff Avenue into town, we would try one of these instead. A key questions is always, “would you go back?”. The answer in this case is, “very unlikely”.

Hi, in our suite, the bedroom was separate from the living area with a door to close for the bedroom. There was a television in each space and the living room had a fireplace. Hope this helps.
