Detailed Reviews
This was the most wonderful B&B for the most affordable price in Banff. Robin said it was important to her mother to provide a value and boy did she deliver on that! It was especially affordable for us after the Canadian -US conversion! We had the largest room with 2 comfortable double beds, a table and 2 chairs for eating our breakfast (which consisted of a croissant and toast, jam and butter, juice, coffee and/or tea. If we were leaving early, which we did most days, we could request delivery at night. There is a small frig to store drinks, eggs, bread etc. She gave me bowls to microwave eggs and make an egg on a croissant each morning. There is a coffee station on the 2nd floor near our room that has a keurig, selection of coffee, tea and hot chocolate. She also has a communal frig with tons of yogurt and a bowl of fruit to help yourself. She also offered us Bear spray (by the way, the spray sells for $47 in the grocery store in town...she gave us 3 cans!) Fortunately, we didn't need to use it lol so we returned it to your.
This location is excellent, only 3 blocks and a short walk to anywhere in town!
Robin is also very quick to respond with emails...she sent me a list of their favorite hiking trails and restaurant/bar recommendations. What a pleasant woman indeed!
My only hesitation was the shared bathroom; however, it was never an issue. Alway clean and stocked and most people are out early and come back late so we never had any issues.
Stay here - you will love it and love her!

This place was amazing. We went as a group to conduct a writer's retreat. It is close enough to walk anywhere but not on the main street, so it was quieter. Breakfast was a simple continental fair and on time every morning. But there is a small fridge in the room if you want to stock up on drinks, snacks or lunch items. Plus, there was a communal coffee station. The rooms are very clean. The bed is comfy, and the pillows are fresh. The shared bathroom was always clean. There are chairs to sit on the lawn (which we did most nights). And the price was very affordable. Especially compared to other prices in Banff. The host was so pleasant, and no request felt like an inconvenience. Totally would recommend this place. If I ever make my way back to Banff, I would definitely book here again.

There are many positives we found staying here - The price tag ( which is much lower than the very expensive Banff average), easy free parking at back of property and the warmth of the great host. My Husband a caffeine freak really appreciated the coffee machine available at any time of the day.
The bathroom was clean, modern and well looked after and the bedroom comfortable and a haven after a busy day of adventures!!
Thankyou!!!

A great little B + B central to Banff. Excellent value for money given Banff is so expensive. And includes parking. Stayed twice and each time had a very comfortable room. Shared bathroom but no problem with access. Small tea and coffee station upstairs on the landing which was very useful. Mrs C and her daughter Robin super friendly + helpful - recommended local hikes. Breakfast so sweet - homemade croissants (delicious!), toast, juice and tea/coffee. Needed to leave early before breakfast was served on our second stay but Robin kindly gave us a breakfast tray the night before. Highly recommend, thank you!

Had a great stay at Tan Y Bryn. Robyn was so welcoming and the location was great, very central to Banff. The breakfast was lovely and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Free parking was an additional bonus. Excellent value for money. Would highly recommend!!

Stayed here twice, one night each time on our trip around BC.
Both rooms were clean and comfortable with good facilities.
Nice breakfast, supplied the night before on our 1st stay as we had an early connection.
Very speedy response time and friendly hosts. Thoroughly recommend this homely stay

We were traveling late and had to check in early. I made contact several times weeks prior to arriving in Banff I requested an early check-in the owner said that would be fine. I called several times before arriving at the location with no answer. I ring the doorbell & appeared a rude elderly lady yelling about how she doesn't answer the phone before 7 a.m. she let me in the shower like she agreed to and the smell of an animal shelter destroyed my senses. I'm not sure if she had pets but the smell was overwhelming. It was very cheap and now I understand why. I was less than 30 minutes and my clothes need to be washed.

We stayed for three nights at the end of July 2011. This was a terrific value. We paid 83.39 CAD a night for room 6 with two full beds. We shared two bathrooms with another room on the same floor. It was only the two of us but the the only other room available had two twin beds. The wood paneling was dated and the bed was honestly not as comfortable as a nice hotel bed, but the savings were definitely worth it. Each morning Mrs. Cowan served us our choice juice along with tea or coffee as well as a croissant and buttered toast with preserves. My wife was a big fan of the toast. It is necessary to make a reservation via email and send a deposit for the first night but these are minor inconveniences.

Banff is not the destination if you are looking for a holiday on a tight budget. Decent accommodation below $100 a night is very hard to come by and we feel we got very
lucky when we came across Tan Y Bryn. The location is very convenient, being only a 5 min walk to Banff Avenue and also close to some beautiful walking trails. The B&B is run by Mrs Cowan, a lovely lady who has been operating the accommodation since the 1960s.
The rooms, whilst modest in size, are cosy and provide amenities such as Wi-Fi, a fridge and basin. There were shared bathrooms, but this was no issue and we were downstairs and had the bathroom all to ourselves anyway.
For breakfast, Mrs Cowan provides home made croissants, toast, juice and tea/coffee to your room. This home is a hidden gem and we highly recommend staying here if you are after a quiet, no fuss and outstanding value stay whilst in Banff.

To those giving this beautiful BnB anything less than 5 stars, can I please remind you that this accommodation is in the lowest brace bracket available in Banff. For the price paid we were 100% content with the cleanliness, hospitality, room facilities, location and cute breakfast in bed.The place was impeccably clean, shower was strong (we really care about it), cute individual white towels basket in the bathroom, wifi working fine, mini fridge and comfortable bed. Yes this place is older, yes you share it with some others and an older host, but you are having the most authentic and comfortable stay you will ever get in Banff for this price.
