Buffalo Mountain Lodge is a peaceful retreat on Tunnel Mountain in Banff, AB. The lodge is surrounded by 9 acres of towering fir, pine, and spruce trees, yet just a 15 minute walk or 3 minute drive from the shopping, nightlife and restaurants that are on offer in downtown Banff. A favourite visitor pastime is to observe the deer and elk who frequently nibble on the lawn, right outside the lodge's windows. The lodge has 108 guest rooms, an outdoor hot tub, and several options for dining, making it the ideal location for a weekend getaway, wedding, or corporate retreat. Buffalo Mountain Lodge is part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts' family of companies. Rooms at the lodge have fieldstone wood-burning fireplaces, cozy duvets, LCD televisions and Blu-ray players. Many feature patios or balconies. Each room has been carefully decorated to reflect the mountain lifestyle in Banff-the accommodation is anything but 'cookie cutter.' The outdoor stainless steel hot tub is best enjoyed after an invigorating hike, bike or ski on one of the nearby trails-or perhaps to aid digestion after a sumptuous meal in the lodge's highly acclaimed restaurant, Sleeping Buffalo.

Love this place, nothing like a real fireplace and a bottle of champagne. Stayed in the premium room. Nice and Quiet before the Christmas rush. Have stayed here many times before the only change I would like to see is some new items on the restaurant menu. Food is always good

Love this hotel and their restaurant! The Chef's Table dining event was fantastic. A 4 course gourmet dinner served fireside with wine pairings is a wonderful way to spend a chilly winter evening. We will be back.

How many minutes to walk from the lodge to Banff avenue?
Greetings, Thank you for your inquiry! To walk downtown to Banff Avenue from Buffalo Mountain Lodge is about 1 kilometer in distance. It takes about 10 minutes to walk down the hill, but 15-20 on the way back up. We do have a complimentary shuttle for our lodge guests though and would love to drive you to and from Banff Avenue for convenience if that's what you prefer! There is also a bus stop right outside the lodge with regularly scheduled pickups through Banff Roam Public Transit. Thank you and see you soon! Sincerely, Caitlyn M, Guest Relations Team

Hi, just wondering if anyone has had a Christmas diner at Buffalo Mountain Lodge at Banff? And how was it? Thanks
We did not eat at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge on Christmas. We attended a wedding and ate at the reception. Which was good.

We are looking for a nice place in Banff or close to Banff that has two bedrooms and a small kitchen for when my daughter gets married in March. Some of the places we have seen on tripadvisor look dated and have some issues with hot tubs etc. When looking at travelers photos the beds and bedding look very dated and the beds do not look comfortable. Basically, we are looking for a clean place, beds need to be comfortable and nice kitchen. What place would you recommend. I really appreciate your response. Thank you.
Greetings, Thank you for your inquiry! We have a room type called the Buffalo Rooms that feature one separate bedroom with either one king or two queen beds, and a living space with kitchenette. The standard Lodge rooms are our base room type, then Buffalo, then Premier Suites if you are looking at the rooms in terms of pricing; the Buffalo rooms are our mid-priced option. Buffalo Mountain Lodge is located on Tunnel Mountain Road, about 1 kilometer from Banff Avenue. We do however offer a complimentary shuttle for our guest should they wish to head down into town. We hope to be able to accommodate you soon! Congratulations on this special time for your family! Sincerely, Caitlyn M, Guest Relations Team

What is the price per night at none peak times of the year. End of Dec. and New Years it we paid around $350 per night. Do they now have fridges in the rooms?
Greetings, Hope all is well and thank you for your inquiry! Prices in our shoulder season from October to April vary, but in general the cheapest time to visit is mid-week. For example, rooms in November in the middle of the week are starting at about $139 CAD per night. If you'd like move pricing we can always search some dates for you! Just give our Reservations ladies a call at 403-410-7417. Thank you! Sincerely, Caitlyn M, Guest Relations Team
