Staff aren't just willing, but happy to help. Outdoor stainless steel hot tub is so clean and fabulous! Food is delicious and everything we ate, whether room service or in restaurant was hot as well - coffee, pizza, eggs benny - all hot and delicious.
We loved our experience at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge. From the unexpected room upgrade to the terrific amenities (a working fireplace!), the food (superb meals at reasonable prices), the check-in and restaurant staff (so professional and kind)... all nestled into the side of a spectacular mountain... we couldn't have had a better experience! Highly recommended.
Sadly run down and dirty. From filthy, torn carpet to moldy, grimy shower curtain this place is a major disappointment. The bed was inaccessible on one side as it is so crammed to the wall. Only two tiny pieces of paper and large chunks of wood for the fireplace - no kindling to actually be able to start a fire. Everything about it is worn out. Cabinet drawers with broken hinges. Ancient, banged-up furniture. The owners and management should be ashamed.
We always love a stay at Buffalo Mountain Lodge. It has a rustic charm to it. While there are occasionally quirks, the staff are hospitable and helpful. I love having dinner at the restaurant, followed by a soak in the outdoor hot tub and a glass of wine by a wood-burning fire in our room. We stayed in one of the newly-renovated rooms this time and they are nice. Next time, however, l’ll opt for a balcony and the quieter side of the resort to better enjoy our morning coffee. The cafe was closed for renovations, so I look forward to it re-opening.
Water shut off Heater wouldn’t turn down Remote control didn’t work properly No paper for fire No outlets by bed to charge phone No call when my room was ready, which I was promised. No one seemed to care about any of these issues when I checked out.
I had a studio style room with kitchenette, living and dining room areas. All the rooms here seem to have a fireplace. (Wood burning). Outdoor hot tub was very lovely. Staff are all great, and friendly. Nothing ever was a bother- need some sweet n low and coffee at 10 pm? We are delighted to walk it over for you! I have mobility issues and in some areas it was challenging to get around. The wapati lodge has a lot of stairs, and some of the rooms are up the hill a bit and require climbing 2-3 flights. If you have minor issues, probably not a problem, if you ask for a room on the flat. The higher up rooms do have the prettiest views. A bit out of the way if you want to walk to tow;, the taxi ride is about $14.00 . There is also a local bus stop just outside the hotel drive, with a bus shelter to keep off the wind and snow. Banff is lovely any time. Town has few guests now, and everyone is less rushed. The restaurant The Prow has excellent food. They catered our business event and even when making food for 80 people, still made lovely meals. The prices are a bit high , but worth it from my experience. …
Everyone from my company got their rooms at 4:00pm right at CHECK IN TIME. They kept telling me every 15 mins that I went to the front desk my room was not ready yet. I didn’t get my room till 5:15pm and I had to be ready to go to the dinner at 6. Absolutely ridiculous! Only offered me a free drink from the MAIN BAR, (couldn’t use it at the dinner) and I don’t even drink so it was useless for the person I gave it to.
1) Lower room (marketed as better than other rooms at the venue) has plumbing issues - both sink and tub gurgle loudly when plumbing above is used - this woke me up on both nights of a 2 night stay. 2) Conditioner bottle had been previous opened and was dried or empty 3) Upon arrival we looked rough after a long day of travel (Jeans/Hiking/cold weather gear) - being thirsty/hungry we wanted adult beverages & food; The initial server in the Prow lounge did not seem interested in serving us and was very standoffish - not wanting to answer questions about the drink/food menu. Considering we were part of a wedding venue bringing 60+ guests to the venue and the overall marketing of better than average experience this level of service seemed not appropriate. The next day we we were cleaned up and wearing nicer cloths the attitude of the server and the level of service was better. In my opinion the server should understand that upon checking guests may have had long days of travel and the appearance may be deceiving.…
We endured a cold room for two nights. Inadequate heating system. We were moved to another room, but the heat was not working in the second room either. Even if I try to warm myself by the fireplace, the fire alarm detects it and I can't sleep. I felt cold for two nights. The staff were always ready to help and provided blankets. But I caught a cold.
Its been many years since we have stayed at Buffalo Mtn Lodge and it was as lovely as we remembered. The outdoor hot tub is the big draw for us, as we enjoy soaking after a day of skiing with a mountain view. The rooms are cozy, with real wood burning fireplaces and down duvets, and chic mountain decor. Our room had a balcony which we also loved sitting on to enjoy the mountain view. We also love that this hotel offers room service, a must have when travelling with young kids. The rooms are at individual cabins around the property, so there is a bit of a walk outdoors to get to the hot tub and restaurant. (suggest that the hotel gets warmer, more useful robes as the current ones don't offer any warmth or protection on the outdoor walk to the hot tub.) The restaurant also had tasty food, at reasonable prices. Elevated tastes for the grown ups and a good kids menu as well. Would stay here again! …
