On arrival we found the staff friendly and helpful. We were informed of a 15% discount that could be used during the stay in the restaurant of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our group was large in size of 10. Our stay was for 3 nights. The hotel is an older style and I felt I was back in the 60’s. The parking was available and free. The rooms are Clean and very spacious indeed. The hotel Mexican restaurant was busy and we found 1 night to dine in, however across 2 tables near by. The manager of the restaurant was amazing and very attentive. His young colleague was also good. The food is good and drinks flowed well. Upon completion we asked someone about using the 15% discount? We were informed we couldn’t on this night. Dissatisfied with the outcome. Some tried the breakfast the next day, where is was very basic and not worth presuming the rest of the trip. We found a Hotel cafe on the next corner that offered, granolas, fruits, pastries and good coffee. The service is amazing. The hotel offers FREE local bus tickets on certain bus numbers, where the reception staff hold the tickets and information about the buses. Great for a trip to the Gondolas and sky hotel for a drink and meal. The views are amazing.

Dirty worn carpet, only one bedside table….turned a trash bin upside down for the other side of bed! Hardly any outlets to plug phones etc in. Had to plug coffee maker in in the bathroom as no plug for it!! Balcony, that’s a laugh, about 2 feet wide! Terrible for the price! Had trouble locking door….I could go on and on!!!! We are here now, and would not stay another night if we could get out of it! Staff pleasant and just said ‘we know’ when voicing our concerns!

Good hotel location close to Main Street. Roam pass included made easy to get around. Free parking underground also. Staff at helpful. Eating at El torro gives you 15% off if stay at hotel. Room is dated, good AC though. Carpet is dirty and towels are thinned. Hotel need a refresh on carpet. Bathrooms were ok. Gym area is gross. Laundry area ok and machines had good capacities.

My wife and I stayed in room 332 in July 2023. Good - big room, friendly staff, small refrigerator, free parking, and provide free ROAM bus pass on routes 1, 2, and 6. Bad - carpet worn with holes, stale decor, room faced street with vehicle noise, and we had to change rooms because door was stuck closed Ugly - No hot water at night (I like a hot shower before bed but 9:00 to 11:00 pm it was a very cold or ice cold shower only.) This happened 4 nights in a row.

Nice older hotel very close to downtown Banff on the main road. The property is in good condition even though it is older. The staff were helpful and the rooms adequate and clean. It was in the perfect location for what we wanted. We'd recommend it to anyone wanting save a little money in and expensive place to visit.

Picked this hotel for 3 nights stay based on availability, price and location. We were mostly pleased. The room was comfortable and clean though the carpets were worn. Staff seemed friendly. Comfortable beds. Parking is a bit tight, especially if you have a bigger vehicle. Irwin’s is within walking distance of many shops, restaurants and activities. El Toro restaurant next door is a good place to eat as is Pacini a 5 minute walk down the street. Would stay here again.

We arrived at IMI as part of an expensive tour including the Rocky Mountaineer, and found it disappointing. The ground floor room had no view, and had a barrier nailed across the doorway to the outside patio. The washbasin, located in the sleeping area rather than the bathroom, was cracked and there was only one power outlet available. The two queen beds were clean and comfortable, but the carpets and decor were tired and shabby. Heating and AC worked, if a little noisily. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty; we did not eat an evening meal here.

The hotel is older and in need of a face-lift. However, our room was very spacious, clean, and the beds were comfortable. The mini fridge in our room was not working, so the very nice maintenence man brought us a new one. The front counter staff were not overly friendly. The hotel is a bit of a walk to downtown, but that didn't bother us at all. We did not try the on-site restaurant or the hot tub. I would stay here again.

Five of us were out in the Banff area for a ski vacation and enjoyed the hospitality at Irwin’s. The rooms were clean and tidy , the hot tub was great and the location is a short walk to all the action. We ate breakfast all 6 days at El Toro and the food and service (thanks Mo) was super.

Last minute trip to Banff for a night and we were looking for reasonable priced accommodation. Irwin’s fit the bill. The room was pretty standard, with a fridge and a small balcony overlooking Banff Avenue. The hotel itself could use a few upgrades, as it was pretty tired looking in the hallways and stairs. Check in was efficient and the underground parking was a bonus. As others have mentioned, you won’t be able to drive a pickup truck or larger vehicle in there, as the overhead is pretty low. All in all we were happy with our stay and would book this hotel again.
