Busy location in the heart of Banff. The good: easy parking garage, perfect location, modern clean rooms, with very comfortable beds and pillows, great restaurant and very friendly staff. The not so good; the busy location means it can be a bit noisy so if you’re a light sleeper you might want to choose another property. They don’t do housekeeping (they say they do, but we never got housekeeping even though we repeatedly requested,) so you have to hunt down fresh towels, soap, bathroom supplies, toilet tissue etc… even after just a few days this became very annoying. It’s a cheap, cost cutting measure to the detriment of the guest and it sours the experience.
The quad occupancy room was really comfy and spacious, and the location is perfect to explore the Main Street of Banff. Excellent, cheap onsite parking too. The excellent brunch in the Fire and Farm restaurant too-a great experience to end our holiday!
The hotel appears to have been renovated and the overall aesthetic is nice. In some places however the hotel appears dated and is not fully accessible. Thankfully, the fan in our room drowned out some of the noise as you can hear pretty much everything going on inside and outside the hotel from your room. Great location, and wonderful breakfast at the Farm and Fire restaurant located inside the hotel. If this hotel was half the price I would give it a better rating, but at nearly $400 per night I had higher expectations.
The hotel has put in some energy into renovations but there’s definitely more that can be done as some things still feel dated and a bit dingy. You can’t beat the location and they do provide earplugs because the air conditioners are noisy, the street is noisy, so if you want a good night sleep any room ground level or facing the street is probably not going to allow for that without aids. If you check in when a tour group is checking in, it’s a bit chaotic and you’re better off trying again later.
Location is great, driving to the location is not. Parking is underground but you have to pay and if you have a truck, forget about it. Room cleanliness was sub-par. We didn't get the room I booked, we got a loft which sounds nice but not with a young child and to haul suitcases up to the rooms. The banister was filthy, i didnt want to touch it. Not worth the price
Great location on Banff Avenue. Close to all the shops and restaurants and walkavle to Tunnel Mountain. Parking underground very easy. Excellent Good Earth coffee shop (separate review) within hotel as is the Pursuits attractions shop. Basically Pursuits own half of Banff and Jasper and a great place to book attractions visits. Only slight downside is some of the reception staff dont understand English, or at least English Midlands English. We had a minor issue with our bathroom which was dealt with only at 2nd time of asking. Room was comfortable rather than luxurious, but who needs luxury when you have Banff outside the front door?
Great location. Walk to almost all parts of Banff. Nice comfortable room. Unfortunately the lift was not working and we had to use the stairs albeit 3 flights. Our baggage was delivered to the room and when checking out delivered to the lobby. Recommend this hotel for a stay in Banff
Lovely hotel, rooms are big and spacious. Our room had and upstairs. Basic but all amenities you need. Lovey hot shower ( always a bonus). Staff friendly and helpful!!! Highly recommend if you want a good general hotel!! Good position to Banff shops and restaurants.
A comfy spot to stay but beware the loft stairs! I slipped on them going downstairs to the bathroom during the night and bruised (if not fractured) ribs. Made the next 2 weeks in Canada challenging! Staff were friendly and hotel is close to shops and dining spots.
Excellent location directly in the center of town within a block of restaurants and pedestrian areas. The loft room was perfect for three or more guests. The restaurant and nightly music were highly rated and provided great ambiance upon entry.
