We stayed 3 nights at an upsized unit with a kitchenette, on the ground floor in July 2022. Initial reaction to walking in was it smelled like stale ashes, and it was dark and dingy. In truth, it had a wood burning fireplace, which was clean, but the smell was imbedded. Second truth was it look like they had done a couple updates at some point, but the lights were so yellow it all just looked old. The overall reason to stay away from this place in the summers is that it had no air conditioning. There were two tiny windows to open, but without a breeze the windows did nothing. We we sleeping at 79 degrees with the fan on. The last night of our stay, the water stops working and doesn’t get turned on until just before we check out. The family upstairs would run across the connecting decks. Even though the weather was pleasant in the evening, the mosquitoes we so thick, all we could do was race to the car to go somewhere else. Worst stay of a 30 day road trip!…
I only stayed here a single night, but the accommodation was great. They had a lot of extras that I did not get a chance to try out, including a shuttle into town (which considering the parking in town, this is very handy). This is a resort that is made for long stays. My room had a small kitchenette, and that would have been very handy if I had the family with me and we were staying for multiple days. The room was great with a comfy bed and a nice bathroom.
Just a very short drive from Banff with good views. We had a 2 bedroom suite which was spacious enough with a shower room and another full bathroom. The furniture was a little dated but ok. We didn't use the kitchen at all but ate out in Banff and drove to Lake Louise too. We had a Tesla rental so the power points in the car park were very useful. We tried breakfast in the restaurant on the first of our two mornings and were astonished to be told they were too busy despite only about 6 people dining there! We did have some drinks on our final afternoon on the sunny terrace which was all good. We though the charges for two nights were outrageous for what it was but as we couldn't do better and had booked late I guess we can't complain too much.
On a recent road trip through western Canada this was undoubtedly the nicest place we stayed. Its slightly out of town so no town centre traffic noises, not far from a junction with the Trans-Canada Highway though not so close that you can see it or hear the traffic, and the views of nearby mountains are just stunning! I cannot emphasise how quiet this location is. There was no a/c in our property - which was fantastic - as a/c means noisy outside fans that keep you awake at night. If its warm at night just open the windows. Too cold - well there is heating but you can just put on another layer. Its worth it for the peace and quiet! Our condo was very spacious - the kitchenette was well equipped and easy to use. If you don't fancy cooking there's an on-site bistro - I had a very nice burger and fries the first night we arrived. Banff itself is a busy town with lots of practical shops (there's a covered mall in downtown) plus many touristy ones, and we found a couple of good supermarkets (Nestors and IGA - the latter has its own car park). And every time you step out of a shop there are those amazing views of mountains! Nearby there are easy trails along the river, to the hoodoos, and on Sulphur Mountain (almost in town) you have the Cave and Basin (smelly - our son didn't like the sulphur smells) and the Upper Hot Springs public bathing pool (where the water comes out of the mountain at 42 C and they remove the sulphur smell so its like a regular pool). Lake Louise is less than one hour's drive north - park your car at the Ski Centre and take a shuttle bus to the lake to avoid hassle parking at the lake itself. There are many trails around there - especially up to Lake Agnes with its famous teahouse (busy) - and take the connecting shuttle to nearby Moraine Lake. We loved this place - will definitely try to come back!…
We stayed in the two bedroom wolf condo (king and queen bed). We had two medium dogs and my mother in tow and had a great stay. I was a bit concerned about my reservation after reading the not so favourable reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. We were going to travel with 5 adults and 3 dogs initially, and this condo was spacious enough to accommodate everyone. With three adults and two medium dogs (30 lbs), two bedrooms and two bathrooms, it was the perfect size for our comfort level. Our rooms and bathrooms were clean and our full kitchen had everything we needed including a dishwasher and microwave. The only reason I gave our stay 4 stars, is because the rooms could be updated for the price of the stay($$). We also had supper and breakfast at their restaurant which taste great. They provided a water dish for our dogs where the patio is pet friendly as well. At check in, they provided pamphlets for pet friendly information which was awesome and even gave us complimentary dog beds to use. They do provide treats and dog dishes if needed. The resort is very close to downtown Banff and all amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the staff were great!…
Stayed for 1 days - June 13-15 2022. The weather was crap NO fault of the resort. Unpacked and immediately the toilet handle broke Called maintenance (came right away) and left to sight see. We are at the end of our second day - no room cleaning (same wet towels ). Toilet broke again but we fixed it “our” way and it will last until tomorrow. Bath shower curtain is gross at the bottom (time for a dollar store run). Caulking around the tub is black but it comes off with my nail so …mould ? This isn’t a clean place and it would cost nothing. No ice machine so you have to cross the street to get ice (again a cheap and efficient fix). We are from Ontario so know how easy a cleanup would be. Tourist town or no tourist town - come on !!! Easy fixes here. We leave tomorrow so deal with it now please (and us) as it’s been sad…
We stayed in a two bedroom suite and I must say we loved it. I’m surprised reading some of the negative reviews here because we genuinely were very happy with our stay. It was lovely and quiet at night time. Almost too quiet - we were disappointed the bar didn’t serve later but that’s our own fault for not checking. The rooms and suite in general were clean, kitchen area was great and so handy. A lovely stay capped off by a nice game of tennis in the morning.
We had a wonderful week at the resort, it is very centrally located, we stayed at the resort and were able to do all sightseeing around Banff and made a day trip to Jasper as well. The service was excellent.
We did a timeshare-exchange into this venue for a week. Our 2-bedroom unit was upstairs and away from resort/road noise, so quiet. We agree with other recent reviews about the resort's condition showing its age and feel sorry for its owners. We used the 3rd floor tub/shower as the 2nd flr shower's grout was nasty, some furniture pieces could use replacing, the laundromat appliances need a good scrubbing and the parking area cries for repaving. That being said, the resort's proximity to the towns of Banff & Canmore, along with all the must-see sights in Banff Park, would incent us to stay here again. Considering the issues (and the complaints it must generate) the staff were amazingly pleasant, engaging and helpful. Although we detest the now-typical extra "resort fee", this place would benefit from adding a slight amount per stay, to help with touch-ups. It has potential to be so much better.…
Sadly we had a very disappointing stay that we cut short from 3 nights to 1 night only. One in our party is an owner of that specific resort and was aghast and embarrassed at the conditions of the units. The resort is old, warn out and in need of a complete overall if not a full knock down in our opinion. We turned down the first unit given to us because it was musty smelling from the first step inside and we knew we couldn't stay there. The second unit appeared to be an improvement but in a few hours we had burning eyes and sneezing from old carpet, old cloth furniture and old draperies. At least the upstairs bedrooms were in better condition with good beds and linens. The staff were eager to rectify our concerns but seemed embarrassed that they couldn't make it right. We will never stay there again and feel travellers should be aware because this was a health concern for us.…
