We didn't get off to a great start. We arrived at about 8.30pm after a long day travelling from Jasper to find that the resort restaurant was closed for private function. No warning given and no sympathy given by an uninterested male receptionist either. As the resort is situated well out of town (I should have checked this out before booking), we were pretty much stuck, not wanting to have to set off to find a restaurant in a new town at that time of night. Anyway we checked in and were sent on our way to find our room. This entailed crossing a road and searching for our ground floor room in a dimly lit area with dangerous uneven ground. First impressions were that the room was tired and tatty with numerous cracked tiles on the floor and curtains which were damaged and didn't close fully. This was an issue because the full length windows opened out onto a car park. At least the bathroom was clean, with a good supply of fresh towels. The bed was clean also but there was no bedside table on one side and the bedside clock didn't work. Sleeping that night was difficult because of a constant vibrating sound whose source I discovered next morning when I went outside. Attached to the outside wall of the room was a small shed containing some kind of machinery, whose sound could be heard clearly inside the room all night. The interior walls were also quite thin as you could hear conversations from other rooms. Off we went to breakfast, which was expensive and not particularly good. Food was lukewarm. Cereal choice was Rice Crispies or Corn Flakes! The room had a kitchenette so we planned to cook the second night. In keeping with the shabby nature of the resort, the rubber seal on the fridge was broken and someone had obviously kicked a hole in one of the cupboard doors. The cooking utensils were basic, some of the pots were not properly clean and one knife even had food smears on it, but we managed to cook anyway. The resort is in a lovely setting and although it is well out of town there is an occasional free shuttle into Banff. However the last shuttle leaves Banff at about 9pm. I don't normally write critical reviews but I think this resort deserves it especially at the price they charge.

We had a lovely stay. Staff was friendly and helpful and for the most part the resort was fine but could use some attention to detail in the rooms. Also, there was no A/C in room. Location is a bit far away from downtown.

Not at all what we expected to come to. Arrived and was told that the fridge had been playing up so a maintenance man was in and out fixing it. (Which on its own is fine) Went in to check what we had for the kitchen so we could sort food but had no plates, mugs, cups etc. Spoke to the front desk, he was super helpful and got it sorted and it was in the dishwasher when we returned. Room in general was not clean. Cupboards were filthy, floors were dirty, hair in the shower that didn’t belong to us. Couch had massive stains on the cushions and I didn’t even want to sit on it. We tried to find a new hotel to stay in but unfortunately with the stampede on and the peak July season, there was nothing else available. Ended up wiping over things myself and putting a sheet on the couch No air con and gets pretty hot and stuffy in the July months Location is super far out of town and the shuttle doesn’t run a lot. If you miss one you have to wait a few hours to get the next. Based on this I would not stay at this “resort” again. We have been holidaying with 2 kids for 6 weeks and all of the Inns that we have stayed in have been of far better quality and cleanliness than this “resort”

Our family stayed here for a week in July 2023. The beds are comfortable mostly. That’s the best thing about this place. It is in disrepair, both our room and the facility itself. It is not clean. The service is deplorable - unfriendly and unresponsive. Repeated requests for basics like towels were ignored. The breakfast buffet was expensive and of poor quality. The shuttle service was moderately helpful given that this hotel is far from town. Not worth the money. Hi somewhere else. There are lots of choices.

We really like the staff, but the older rooms which were part of our exchange, not the "wolf" rooms were shabby, dingy and tired. Beds and linens were good. Pool was ok as was onsite restaurant. Most units sit near road.

This is a mediocre resort on the outskirts of Banff NOT downtown, but does have a shuttle. Not luxurious, but clean and well presented. Small rooms, no disposal or a/c. Wood burning fireplace. Tight parking.

Nice location on the end of the main street and just off of Highway 1, however, not a walking distance from downtown Banff We booked a one-room condo for three people. Condo has one small room with a queen bed and a sofa bed in a small living room. The space was really cramped. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

We stayed in one of their suites with a kitchen. Expected it to be super nice since we paid about $450 a night. The bedroom was so tiny we had to open our suitcases in the living room. Hardly a living room though, with a tiny table pushed to the back of the sofa. The small kitchen was well-equipped, and I liked the size of the bathroom and the fact I could close the door of the bedroom. It’s dated, not very well maintained, and though the bathroom was clean, I felt the rest of it was not very clean. Neither was the outside of the unit. Breakfast was awesome in the resort restaurant across the street, and it was convenient to not have to go park downtown to eat before we headed out to hike. Won’t stay here again.

The best part was sitting outside of the rooms at the picnic table and watching the animals nearby. Areas for improvement: floors needed to be mopped between guests, appliances needed replacement eg hair dryer set off the fire alarm, tv has no remote, power sockets pull away from the wall, fake eyelashes from prior guest stuck on mirror, maybe weed the garden. Don’t know about the restaurant as the room was so old I thought “don’t trust it”.

This Hotel has to be the biggest lie going. Don't look at the brochure pictures that were taken 20 years ago. Take a look at our room. It was smelly when we first entered. It was dirty, it was old, it had broken furniture. The TV cable did not work. We had people running outside between the condos at 3am, swearing and laughing. I guess this would be a great place if it was a homeless shelter. The only redeemable feature was the view of the mountains. NEVER stay at the RESORT, you will regret it. The hotel did offer us another room once we put up a fuss. But for the amount of money you are paying for this resort it is sad. The place needs a total renovation. NOT HAPPY. Will never stay there again. If fact all of Banff is over priced. Stay in Canmore, not cheap, but a LOT more choice and its only 16km from Banff. I am only giving a second star because of the view. As for the hotel restaurant, please don't waste your money. The food was ok, but you can do better in town. Its like they opened a package of frozen broccoli and salad and dumped it on the plate. Tasteless and stale. And don't order the beef ribs. You don't ribs and meat on the bone, you get meat, but I don't know if it was from the ribs. And it was tasteless. The sauce tasted like it was from a Kraft dinner I ate as a kid. Probably as old too, and I am 59.
