Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Banff Rocky Mountain Resort sits nestled in a serene, albeit somewhat isolated location, that, according to some guests, is a trek from downtown attractions. Many visitors express disappointment over the value, with room quality and size not measuring up to the cost. Rooms often draw criticism for their lack of cleanliness and dated style. While the amenities yield a divided opinion, with some appreciating in-room kitchens, the overall atmosphere is frequently described as gloomy and in need of a refresh. Service quality at the resort is inconsistent, as reported by guests, with experiences ranging from exceptional to unresponsive. Cleanliness issues are a common concern, with areas needing more attention.

Staying at this resort for four days and just glad it isn't longer. Its probably the most depressing accommodation we have stayed in a long time. As a family group of four (three of whom are senior citizens) we were assigned a condo at the back of the resort. We had to climb one flight of stairs to enter the accommodation and anothrr flight to access the sleeping area, carrying four heavy suitcases and four bags of considerable weight. On entering we found we found it to be dark, dingy, and uninviting. The living area is dated. Dirty carpet and a old worn out suite which looks like it has never been cleaned. On removing a cushion we found various sweets, bracelet and spoon, obviously left by previous guests.. We were so disgusted we refrained from looking under the sofa

Free Parking and clean roomy enough bathroom, but... pretty dated; actually well beyond its best before date. In a nutshell the overall cleanliness, upkeep and security of the rooms (window locks broken, and door hardware iffy), left an awful lot to desire, and just not a recommended destination and certainly not a candidate for a repeat visit. But Banff National Park is so awesome that the experience was not ruined.

"Freddy" a latino gentleman (though he wasn't a gentleman at all and I use the term loosely) with a full black beard and a large cross earring was sitting and gossiping on the guest couch and appeared to be annoyed by the mere appearance of guests triying to check in. He looked down his nose (which brought to mind a waiter in a snooty Paris restaurant) and informed us, in his arrogant and belittling manner, that checkin was not until 5 pm. We got back from town at 6pm (this place is located a 10 minute drive from town) and the room was still not ready. But the lady that informed us of this fact was at least used to dealing with the public and so she informed us in a gracious manner and gave us a late checkout. Front of the house staff should never act like snooty French waiters

My wife and I recently stayed here , check in was simple and quick , the grounds nice , the room needs an update , there is no room for your luggage in the bedroom , the curtains in the bedroom don’t fully cover the windows , the fridge jammed so tight in its space the door gets stuck on the cupboard , fireplace in room but wood is extra charge , it’s quiet a bit out of town but we had a car, wouldn’t return.

We didn't get off to a great start. We arrived at about 8.30pm after a long day travelling from Jasper to find that the resort restaurant was closed for private function. No warning given and no sympathy given by an uninterested male receptionist either. As the resort is situated well out of town (I should have checked this out before booking), we were pretty much stuck, not wanting to have to set off to find a restaurant in a new town at that time of night. Anyway we checked in and were sent on our way to find our room. This entailed crossing a road and searching for our ground floor room in a dimly lit area with dangerous uneven ground. First impressions were that the room was tired and tatty with numerous cracked tiles on the floor and curtains which were damaged and

We had a lovely stay. Staff was friendly and helpful and for the most part the resort was fine but could use some attention to detail in the rooms. Also, there was no A/C in room. Location is a bit far away from downtown.

Not at all what we expected to come to. Arrived and was told that the fridge had been playing up so a maintenance man was in and out fixing it. (Which on its own is fine) Went in to check what we had for the kitchen so we could sort food but had no plates, mugs, cups etc. Spoke to the front desk, he was super helpful and got it sorted and it was in the dishwasher when we returned. Room in general was not clean. Cupboards were filthy, floors were dirty, hair in the shower that didn’t belong to us. Couch had massive stains on the cushions and I didn’t even want to sit on it. We tried to find a new hotel to stay in but unfortunately with the stampede on and the peak July season, there was nothing else available. Ended up wiping over things myself and putting a sheet on the couch

Our family stayed here for a week in July 2023. The beds are comfortable mostly. That’s the best thing about this place. It is in disrepair, both our room and the facility itself. It is not clean. The service is deplorable - unfriendly and unresponsive. Repeated requests for basics like towels were ignored. The breakfast buffet was expensive and of poor quality. The shuttle service was moderately helpful given that this hotel is far from town. Not worth the money. Hi somewhere else. There are lots of choices.

We really like the staff, but the older rooms which were part of our exchange, not the "wolf" rooms were shabby, dingy and tired. Beds and linens were good. Pool was ok as was onsite restaurant. Most units sit near road.

This is a mediocre resort on the outskirts of Banff NOT downtown, but does have a shuttle. Not luxurious, but clean and well presented. Small rooms, no disposal or a/c. Wood burning fireplace. Tight parking.
