. Food was ok in the dining room. I think hotel guests or season pass holders should recieve a discount on food. It does get pricey for a family of 4. Kids loved the hot tub bingo and s'mores. Staff very friendly!

Staff are not that friendly and hospitable and the room was not like a sound proof as you can hear the rooms beside you banging and walking as well as the outside. The good thing about it is that it's a good location, great ski-in, ski-out.

Excellent treatment by all staff, especially front desk. They were patient with my requests. I had a very quiet room on the 5th floor and appreciated the accommodations to my requests. The restaurant staff was also very kind and helpful.

Food options were limited and due to weather (understandably out of their control to a certain extent), one day we only had one restaurant available. Also, we stayed in a loft room and the walls were paper thin. Our last night was basically a sleepless night as there were

Sunshine has a base with parking lot, then when you purchase a lift ticket you head up on a 25 minute gondola ride to get to Sunshine Village. This is where Sunshine Mountain Lodge is located, so once you are up there the upside is its all ski-in, ski-out. The downside is the only way down to the base area is the gondola or the ski out. From the base you are then 7 km from Highway 1 (the Trans-Canada highway) and about 15 mins drive to Banff town. There is a shuttle between Banff and Sunshine (base) that is free if you have a lift ticket, but you have to make sure if you are staying at the lodge that the gondola is still running if its outside of ski hill opening hours. The gondola runs 8am until 5:30 pm everyday except Saturday when its open until 10pm (according to the website). You have to make your own way around Banff National Park (which is huge), but from the shuttle bus you can walk around Banff town if you just want to visit Banff for a day and spend most of your time skiing. Otherwise, if you stay in Banff you can use the free shuttle to get back and forth to Sunshine for skiing.

Yes at the Sunshine Lodge and there is fantastic hiking and scenery to be had. Just remember you are in bear country and should familiarize yourself with how to deal with any possible encounters. These information sessions are available to everyone and should be taken.

Sunshine Ski resort itself is 20 mins away from Banff by bus. Once you get to the resort base, you then need to take the gondola to get to the actual village. If you are staying in the hotel, the gondola ticket will be included. hope this helps!

Some of the best and most snow falls at Sunshine in the spring. April snow conditions should still be quite good. The temperature is warmer for a nice, warm ski day (vs potentially -25 Celsius in December or January) but of course the snow is a little heavier than the colder days, too.
