We stayed 10 nights in the Rundle building and appreciated having the full kitchen so that we were able to self-cater and save some money on eating out. Having the extra loft space with a king bed and extra powder room was nice too. The location is not really within walking distance to anything, so you really need a car, although they do provide free Roam bus tickets which stops just out front, so that's pretty convenient. There is no restaurant on-site, and I'm not sure why it is marketed as a "resort" as it doesn't really have any of the facilities normally associated with a resort (such as a spa). You can hear a little noise when the train goes through town, but that's true everywhere in Banff. The front desk staff was really helpful, and loaned us bear spray which we kept with us on all of our hikes (they only charge you for it if you use it). There is also a laundry room which costs $3 CAD per load for a wash and $3 for the dryer, and also sells detergent if you need it. The beds were extremely comfortable. There was a balcony but we didn't use it as it didn't really have a view of anything despite being advertised as having one. There was also a wood-burning fireplace, but it was hot during our stay so we didn't use it. There is free parking and also a small, basic gym. We appreciated that the entire place is nonsmoking, although this is undermined by the fact that they provide ashtrays out on the balconies, and in fact our downstairs neighbor did smoke on occasion which was irritating as we had to close all the doors and windows to our unit to avoid smoke coming in. The main downsides of this place are the extremely high cost, the somewhat dated units, and the fact that you can't really walk to anything.

I stayed at Tunnel Mountain Resort with my sister and two nephews over the holidays (4 nights). We originally really liked the place, but found out that their cleaning procedure is not up to standard (see below). We very much enjoyed location and the room we booked (studio with kitchen) was well designed with one bed on each side of the unit and a large enough bathroom. The staff was nice and quickly responded to a couple of requests we made (additional blanket, more dishwasher soap). However, we noticed the floor was fairly dirty and when I inquired at front desk, they said that they only clean the floors upon request (otherwise they only vacuum). This was the first time I ever heard of such a "clean upon request" policy. I asked politely on three different occasions for the floors to be cleaned only to find out they did not actually clean it. It leaves you wondering what else is not properly cleaned. Also, the fire alarm went off every time we cooked (the burners had left over food, same for toaster) and the coffee maker was in dire need of a good cleaning (it kept on clogging). There were only four plates, four bowls, etc. so we had to continually clean the dishes. That said, we would still stay at this hotel, knowing that we can live with these inconveniences and keeping in mind that this option is still a good value for money in Banff.

We loved our stay at the Tunnel Mountain Resort. With two teenagers of different genders, I am always looking to stay somewhere with 3 beds and this place worked out great! We had 2 queen beds in the loft area and they had a ½ bath up there to themselves. We had a private bedroom downstairs with the full bath. Yes, the place could use a little refreshing, but overall the space was great. We enjoyed having the kitchenette for breakfast and the fridge for storing drinks. There is a coffee pot and electric kettle. The kitchenette also has a dishwasher and microwave. They even had a bin for food compost and separate recycling! The beds were comfortable and the shower had good water pressure (as someone with thick hair I am also always looking for this!) They give you complimentary ROAM bus passes to use during your stay and the bus stop is right at the entrance of the resort. We walked into town twice (all downhill about 20 min) and walked back twice, but otherwise took the bus. There is easy parking outside your unit and the concierge helped us make reservations for all of our activities. We didn’t use the indoor pool, but they provide a nice locker room area and pool towels if you do decide to go in the pool.

We stayed at 3 queen beds with loft. 3 adults and 2 youths were comfortable. Beds were good. There was no place to hang towels in a half bathroom in the loft. For shower, hotwater kept run out. We had to space between ppl. We cooked every night and the kitchen could be stocked better. It's a small one person kitchen with dishwasher, stove and sink. Knives were very dull but there were enough dishes and cups. Housekeeping comes daily to take out trash. Parking spot right in front of the suite. Pool was very disappointing. It's not warm enough and there were no hot tub or sauna near the pool to keep you warm. Although sauna is in the different building, it's unrealistic to walk in bathing suit in below 15 degrees. Change room and shower booths were in downstairs from the pool and stairs were so filthy. One of the women's shower was not working. I don't recommend to use the pool facilities. Overall, for the price, it's good if you have a vehicle.

Great base for exploring the slopes, I stayed for 3 1/2 weeks whilst visiting my son. Am hoping to return this season. Comfy well equipped room, comfy beds and rooms were cleaned regularly and linens changed. Washing machine facilities make it convenient for longer stays and will be travelling lighter this season. Easy bus pick up to hit the slopes

Fab stay for 4 nights in loft style accommodation with 1 bedroom downstairs and 2 queen beds in loft room abd pull out double bed in lounge . Beautiful views at front to Tunnel mountain .
Nice staff and beautifully clean with daily housekeeping and lots of fresh towels . Complimentary bus passes throughout stay to travel few minutes into Banff as all parking charged in central Banff .
Nice little balcony onto woods at back , quiet and helpful onsite laundry and access to small pool/ gym and sauna . Ideal to do trek up Tunnel mountain from town and can return down directly to resort . Also can do lovely river walk into town from resort .
Highly recommend as suitable accommodation, we stayed as family of 5 and ideal with small kitchen , good fridge and dish washer . Banff just amazing

We returned last week from a 6 night stay at this hotel. We requested a large room with balcony and easy access to parking, since we are in our 80s. We also requested air conditioning, which not all of their rooms have. Kudos to Lily for helping us choose the perfect room for us. Our room was modern and spatious, with a kitchenette with microwave, stovetop, coffeemaker, and refrigerator. The large bathroom had loads of counter space and an extra large stall shower. There was a small table with two chairs for enjoying breakfasts in our room.

Location of the hotel was also ideal for us. We were surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery - away from the noise and traffic in the heart of the city, although only a few minutes away from the fantastic restaurants in Banff.

As others have mentioned, this hotel provides bus passes for travel to the downtown area, with bus stops virtually at the hotel doorstep, which we used daily. It only took a few minutes on the bus to get into the heart of the city, which is so much easier than driving through Banff and trying to find convenient parking.

Highly recommended!!

Tunnel Mountain is located off of Banff Avenue, so the location is a little quieter. We had the superior room, which was a King and Queen bed in the room, lots of room for the three of us. The kitchenette was handy and comes fully equipped if you need to cook full meals. The beds/pillows were very comfortable. The pool is small and no hot tub on site, which was disappointing. The bus stops right outside of the hotel, which is handy if you don't want to walk or drive and park in the Banff townsite. Parking in Banff is $2.00/hr or $6.00/ for 3 hrs, which can start to get expensive. They don't have a shuttle to take you to the ski hills in the area, you have to catch them at the major hotels on Banff Avenue (they are free!!!). The best one to catch is the bus at the Banff Caribou hotel, it's the first stop as it gets busy and fills up quickly. The things we didn't like about Tunnel Mountain was the parking, it's extremely tight especially if you are driving a truck, they have no hooks in the bathrooms to hang towels or your clothing, no broom in the room as you get a lot of rocks in the entrance from the winter and no housekeeping, which they don't tell you about until you get to the hotel and for the cost you are paying, it would be nice if that was included. For those reasons, we wouldn't stay here again.

I stayed here for 18 nights and was really pleased with everything about the accommodation. The location is a 5 minute bus ride or 20 min walk into the centre of Banff. You are given a free bus pass to use on the roam bus service which takes you into the centre of Banff . I stayed in a one bedroom ground floor studio apartment . Open plan bedroom / kitchen / dining lounge area .
Exceptionally clean with great little kitchen for those wanting to cook their own meals. Unusual to have a full sized fridge/ freezer and cooker oven but great when cooking for 4 .
Enjoyed the real fire and free wood was a bonus .
Laundry room and gym a plus . Pool looked good but didn’t use as was skiing everyday ,
The staff were so helpful and nothing was ever too much bother . I asked for extra hangers , baking tray , corkscrew and everything was delivered to my door within minutes .
A special shout out to Harri (apologies for spelling ? ) who was on reception . Always smiling , professional and extremely helpful with everything from recommendations to making sure I had everything I needed . A real asset to the company .
You could have the room made up , cleaned , fresh linen , towels whenever you requested which was great .
Had an issue with noise from other rooms in the evening but this was dealt with very quickly and the issue resolved .
Lovely balcony looking over the mountains and perfect spot for seeing wild deer .

Rooms are spacious . Getting a bit dated with the carpets and furniture. Kitchen supplies need some refresh as well. Parking is plentiful and secure. Quiet location, in the forest away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Pool is always great and hot tubs are fantastic.

They are connected in groups in buildings. We heard no noise from our neighbours on either side but the weather was too cool to use the balconies when we were there.

Hello Mdecker17, Thank you for your question. No, the Studio Condo is a studio, so it is one single space, with a separate bathroom. If you are looking for a separate bedroom, offering a door, the One Bedroom Condo offers just that, with the same size and layout as the Studio Condo. You can find images, videos and floorplans on our website tunnelmountain. Alternatively, please reach out to us directly and we are happy to help you find the best suitable accommodation. Kind Regards, Team Tunnel Mountain Resort

The unit we stayed in was basically a duplex unit. We had a small balcony. Our view from the living room area was into the woods. Not overly scen8c but we did have a deer walk by one morning. View the mountain or view the woods, all was good.
