We don't normally do restaurant reviews; however, Jeremy's great service & fantastic personality really complimented the wonderful meal we enjoyed Sept. 10. He is a great ambassador for Fairmont - very knowledgeable & professional. We were attending a group tour dinner, so things were very busy for him and he didn't miss a thing. Group dinners can be a nightmare and everything went so smoothly. Thanks!
Well maintained, smells really nice, clean and comfy bed and room! One of the things I find in a hotel is when it smells nice and clean, and this hotel did not disappoint. Gio from the front desk was very helpful. He welcomed us warmly. Check in was very smooth because of him. Check out was fast and easy too. I will def recommend them to anybody and will stay in this hotel again without hesitation. Location is a bonus. Walking distance to everything in town. Saves you parking fees as Banff Town don’t have free parking anymore
Firstly I would like by saying please get the preferred view. I got a room that was not preferred view and my balcony was facing the corridor so had to be closed all the time. Is almost they were punishing me for having booked through Hotels.com. Concierge in the evening was nice, concierge in the morning, little bit older was rude.. basically again almost offended when I asked if breakfast was included with my room. I showed the room number and he looked almost disgusted. Probably they put me in the worst room in the hotel even though I payed $280. Well, location is quite simply incredible! And that is the only positive. The rooms were old, but must say they were clean! If you are looking to a hotel where you will only sleep might be a good choice.
We spent two nights here and it is a great location just one block off the Main Street. The hotel supplied shampoo is the worst product I have ever used, bring your own! We had breakfast at the hotel the day we were leaving. We took a travel coffee mug to the restaurant and they charged us $4.00! The hotel has parking for $14.00 plus gst.
We stayed here for 2 nights July 11th - 13th / 2021 for our 30th Anniversary trip. We had a King Corner Connecting room reserved specifically for the walk in shower. Wish I would have selected a different king room as while walking past other rooms they appeared larger and better layout. This room had a nice corner view 3rd floor with nice views of the mountains. The rooms however are in desperate need of renovation. Mattress had absolutely no edge support left in it although the surface was quite comfortable to sleep on. I was aware of complaints with the "Climate Control" not to be called air conditioning. It seemed to blow cool air during the days but at night it would switch to what seemed like recirculated air and it was no longer cool. Guest only have control of the fan speed not the air that comes out of it as far as temp. I enjoyed having coffee on the balcony in the morning and watch traffic come into town as it is on one of the main access roads to Banff, The morning temperatures were cool and refreshing. We could exit the stairwell to the street and literally be on Banff Ave in about 90 seconds walk. The location alone is still worth the stay here. We used the pool/hot tub on one occasion and it was not busy at all except for the fact that staff did not enforce the adult only hours after 9pm on the night we were there. We did not utilize any of the dining or lounge services at this location. The only Tim Hortons in Banff is just a 5 minute walk away. The underground parking was nice to have as parking is a nightmare in Banff. When this place was built it would have been top notch for services and amenities but changes need to be made. The morning we were departing I went to unplug my phone charger from beside the nightstand and I discovered a pair of men's underwear lying behind the nightstand. This grossed us out so rather than just calling front desk to say we were checking out as was the preferred method I went directly to the front desk to check out. I mentioned my discovery and told them that it was unacceptable to find this as the policies with Covid cleaning are suppose to be ramped up drastically and things like this should not be missed. The lady at the desk apologized and said that it was infact unacceptable. She punched away on her computer and then asked if we had ate breakfast which we had, I assumed she was going to offer us a breakfast for the discovery. She continued to type away and again apologized and then said she would email the receipt to us. I assumed she had given us a discounted rate for our stay but when I checked the email there was no such discount and the full rate was charged. I guess I should not have assumed so and not left the desk until I had checked the email. I later replied to the email stating my concerns and was offered a $75 credit towards a future stay. The problem is that it would involve a 9.5 hour drive one way to use this $75 credit. I again replied back asking whatever happened to compensating a guest during that stay rather than offering future perks but that email remained unanswered and no further response was received from them. Poor Customer Service on their part..... I guess now that I was gone from location they were not too concerned.…
