My wife and I stayed at Thea's House in September 2023 and had a fabulous stay. The hosts had thought of so many things to make our stay comfortable and the food was fantastic. If you have to miss a breakfast to get an early start they will make you a lunch, but you really shouldn't miss breakfast. It was a month ago and we are still talking about it. The room was large and had all the amenities. The bed was comfortable. The location in Banff makes for easy walking to all sorts of restaurants and shopping. If we ocme back to the area we will most assuredly stay here again.

Property's Favourite Review
What a great trip we head to Banff. So glad we stayed with Albert and Esther at their incredible B&B. Everything about Thea’s place was perfect from the rooms to the location to the 3 course breakfasts and all the recommendations and assistance from Albert and Esther daily. We’ve stayed at many B&Bs, mostly in the US, and this is definitely our favorite. Can’t wait to go back for another visit.

Lovely bed and breakfast within walking distance to Banff Avenue. The hospitality here is top notch and you feel right at home when Esther greets you and shows you to your room. The place is just lovely with modern bathrooms, comfy beds, A/C (now needed in Banff) a little fridge and coffee maker and kettle. The rooms are quiet and very clean. Breakfast is something to write home about. The diversity, freshness, abundance, timing, something for all taste buds, and uniqueness make for a hearty start and you are given lunch bags to take what’s left for a snack. There is a small parking lot. A main floor lounge but the rooms have a small couch and chair. There’s a small table and chair and all pieces look to be antique. Very comfortable. We are really happy we found this place and will be back!

Banff is a beautiful place to visit, and staying 3 nights at this lovely B&B makes the whole vacation even better. Every morning, we are treated to a scrumptious 3-course breakfast meticulously prepared and carefully planned. Menu changes everyday but the quality (and quantity) does not change. There is so much food that the owners even prepare bags for you to take away as lunch! This is really service. The owner, Esther and her daughters are always welcoming and friendly. Rooms are clean and spacious, and thoughtfully decorated. Located in a quiet neighbourhood and yet within a 5 mins' walk to the centre of town. Bow River is also within a 5 mins' walk from the B&B and it's such a great place to catch wildlife in action in the early mornings. I cannot think of a better place to stay in Banff. Thank you Esther, for sharing your beautiful house with us.

My husband and I stayed here for a week, right after Christmas. The Inn is warm and inviting and has parking. Our room was wonderful! We had a fireplace and a very luxurious bathroom. Esther and Albert are perfect hosts. They serve amazing breakfasts every morning. There is so much to do in and around Banff. We flew into Calgary and rented a car. Having a car was very helpful. I was concerned about us driving in the far north conditions. But the main roads were kept drivable the whole time we were there.

Wow! We loved every minute of our stay at Albert and Esther’s. They were welcoming hosts and offered the most delicious breakfasts! The food is fresh and we loved the variety. They served a perfectly warmed banana with coconut shavings that was simple, yet so tasty and like nothing I’d ever had. A few other breakfast items we enjoyed included crepes, loaded veggie omelettes, and toast topped with avocado and a poached egg. We looked forward to breakfast not only for the smorgasbord of food, but also because it was a time to visit with Albert and Esther. They always checked in with us during breakfast and asked how we were doing and what our plans were for the day. They gave us great recommendations on top attractions, hiking trails off the beaten path, and dining. They also shared a bit about their hiking adventures and life experiences, which we enjoyed. I can’t say enough about their hospitality and B&B! It is inviting, clean, comfortable, quiet, and conveniently located to everything in Banff. We hope to be back to this wonderful gem!

Thank you Albert & Ester for a wonderful 3 night stay, you even accomodated us with an early breakfast as we had early shuttles to take for touring. Your breakfasts were so awesome and delicious and the room spacious. A few minute walk to main street and enjoy all the restaurants and the views. We would highly recommend this place! Thanks again. B&B really does not do Thea’s House justice, it is an exceptional place to stay in Banff and only a short walk from the centre. From the off, we received a warm welcome from the owners, Albert and Esther. We had booked a deluxe corner room and the room was fairly spacious and, whilst there was plenty hanging space, drawer space was limited. However, this did not detract from the pleasure we had staying here. The famous 3-course breakfast was fabulous every morning. In fact there was enough in course 2 to make a packed sandwich lunch and Esther and Albert encouraged this by providing sandwich bags on the table. Although the prices are on the high side (not helped by the weak value of Sterling) the value for money is excellent given all the “extras” that are provided/loaned, for example:- bikes & helmets; snacks and “cake of the day” at the front door; umbrellas; walking poles & rucksacks; water filter in room fridge, wine supply on an “honesty” basis and bear spray!! Albert and Esther are a font of knowledge on the area having lived in Banff for over 40 years so were able to give excellent recommendations on walks, cycles and restaurants. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to book again if we are ever in the area.
