This B&B far exceeded our expectations. It was 5* ++. The location was perfect. Within walking distance to downtown restaurants. We had a view of Cascade Mountain just outside our window and when you stepped outside the mountain was just up the street. Our room and the bed was very comfortable. The linens were crisp white. It was very clean and had a little fridge and Nespresso machine and tea kettle in the room. There was also a big fridge in the hall and a Keurig coffee machine as well as wine and champagne glasses. The hosts were a lovely couple. Having owned a restaurant in the past, Albert served up spectacular 3 course gourmet breakfasts daily. There was so much food that we couldn’t possibly eat it all. They provided doggie bags so that you could pack a snack to have on the go when hiking or exploring Banff. There were fresh baked Bundt cakes wrapped to go as well as bags of nuts and granola bars at the door. You could never be hungry here! We stayed 3 nights and felt very much at home. We would highly recommend this B&B and would definitely stay here again when in Banff. Thank you Esther and Albert for your hospitality!…
I've been wanting to visit Banff for so very long, and decided to treat my husband, son and his fiance to the most special lodging I could find...the Beaujolais Boutique B&B at Thea's House. We booked it at the end of December 2021 for an anticipated stay in June 2022, and we are so very glad we did. There are only 4 rooms, so booking ahead is crucial. There aren't enough words to describe how perfect this was for us. It's just a 2 block walk to the main street of Banff, and keeps it feeling quiet and removed but totally perfect to walk to for dinner and shopping and more. But as is mentioned by all the reviewers, the breakfast was extraordinary and was the perfect way to start the day and keep us going on our hikes! The incredible charcuterie board served with breakfast (plus 2 additional courses...different each day) was something Albert and Esther encouraged us to pack for lunch or an afternoon snack if we had leftovers--and we always did! The rooms were beautiful and luxurious. Other added amenities included bicycles, walking poles, umbrellas to borrow, and more. Thank you Albert and Esther....we couldn't have been more delighted with our long-awaited bucket-list, vacation.…
Albert & Esther are lovely hosts. We booked our stay here for an entire week since we were having our smaller elopement wedding at Moraine Lake & I wanted to have a nice room to get ready on the day of our wedding & for our first reveal pictures.I also wanted a room that had great natural lighting for my makeup artist & pictures. We stayed in the Rundle room & loved the spacious bathtub & our view. The breakfast was amazing & you won't leave hungry. We enjoted taking the leftovers with us on our hikes and ate them for our lunch since they provide bags for you take with you. The attention to detail with your stay was so thoughtful including how they have hiking poles, umbrellas, bikes, bear spray, min-fridge in the room, teas, coffee, pitcher of filtered water, snacks, they allowed us to borrow a cooler to take on our bus the day of the wedding. They have really thought of everything & they give you great tips including the tip to download Gypsyguide app when you do some scenic drives. They also recommend great restaurants. We were truly pampered and spoiled when staying here and their hospitality is a must to experience. The location is wonderful we walked to town. We also loved the pictures our photographer took of us here before our wedding ceremony. Thank you so much for everything. We already miss you both very much. Thanks for welcoming us and being such amazing hosts. Wishing you both much continued success. We didn't want to leave.…
We've visited Albert's and Esther's place in winter 2022, but we cant help to say this place is excellent. Every detail in the room is unique and perfect. The attitude feels like visiting parents, the place is very cozy and warm. Having breakfast is a separate thing to mention as it goes beyond expectations.
My sister and I were really excited to visit (having read all the great reviews) and every expectation was exceeded. Albert and Esther have really thought of every detail to make your time as enjoyable as possible. The rooms are lovely - a really nice view of the mountain (the Rundle Room) and everything is set up so that you have a really comfortable stay. The B&B is also only a couple of minutes stroll from the town and the river is very close (for those who like to fit in a run before starting the day). The breakfasts really are incredible - imaginative, varied and delicious. Both Albert and Esther have lived really interesting lives and are also a joy to chat with. Can't wait to visit again in the future!
Where to start? Believe the five star reviews. This place is the ONLY place to stay if you want to enjoy the best of Banff. Only four rooms give a real intimate feeling of staying with friends. Our very comfortable room was cleaned daily and thoroughly (rare these days). Breakfasts are unbelievably good and Albert and Esther are perfect hosts. Treat yourself to a few days here. We loved it!
5/5 stars for Beaujolais. We stayed in the Edith room during the last week of May 2022. Spotless room. Even under the bed! Bed and bedsheets and pillows were SOOOOO comfortbale. It was like sleeping on a cloud! I must find out what brand they all are to purchase them for home. Beautiful mountain view. Warm temperature room (I am sensitive to cold). Friendly and readily available hosts. Food was A-MA-ZING!!! A 3-course breakfast daily made by an experienced chef. Way better than the boring bacon, eggs & muffins that you get at most hotels. See photos. This place is worth every cent! Thank you Albert & Elizabeth from John & Melissa (Toronto, CAD).
We just spent 3 days at Beaujolais Boutique B&B at Thea's House, and now are spending our first of 3 nights at the Fairmont Banff Springs for nearly 2x the price. We dearly wish we were still at the Beaujolais Boutique B&B. NOT JOKING 1000% very sad!!! We're a family of 4 reuniting for the first time since COVID first hit from across continents. Two of us are young professionals, plus our parents. Why did we love Beaujolais Boutique? - Homey feel - there's a warm family room downstairs where there is amazing happy hour drinks (your first drink free if you go for a hike during your stay stocked with tonics and local gin for my favorite G&Ts!), a piano, guitar, etc. We played Ticket to Ride and cards and had amazing fun each night! - Activities! - two bikes and hike recommendations every day! We had great hiking recommendations (Lake Louise! Tunnel Mountain -> we didn't do much research ahead of time, and while these are common hikes they recommended great tips for us that made sure we had the BEST experience). We also were able to take the bikes on amazing bike ride to Vermillion Lakes which was SOOO FUN! - Amazing food - Albert pulls out all the stops to produce an AMAZING, delicious and varied breakfast each day!!! We had amazing creme brulee heart shaped french toast, with a very complete and DELICIOUS charchuterie board, orange juice, coffee, tea, fruit (yogurt, granola, museli)... every morning! It's a three course breakfast, the best I've ever had! AMAZING! - Spacious, beautiful unique rooms - beautiful furniture, bed frames were super unique and interesting (we stayed in a room with tons of twisted driftwood bed frame). Each room has a fireplace, fridge, - Extremely thoughtful touches - from hand sanitizing spray to razors and shoe cleaners (for when your leather shoes get dirty from hiking!), it's ALL there! Even without your asking. Plus teas, nespresso, etc. - Jacuzzi tubs with Epsom salt for your after hike soak.... - Albert and Esther! They are such amazing, warm people who really helped us feel at home!! <3 They were so friendly, even gave us tips on where to buy hiking boots and just volunteered so much amazing info and answered all our question! Really made our experience special. - Nice couches and tables meant we were able to play cards together in our rooms as well when we wanted to just chill as a family! STAY HERE IF YOU'RE VISITING BANFF!!! You won't regret it. I think we booked the Fairmont b/c there wasn't any more availability here we are so sad about it :(…
This charming place had it all. The location was great, a 5 minute walk from downtown Banff. Our room was gorgeous, newly painted, spotlessly clean and furnished beautifully. And the breakfasts were the most amazing I have had- large portions of Deliciously prepared fruits, charcuteries and entrees. Hosts Albert and Esther were so welcoming and delightful. Extra touches and charm abounded. Highly recommend.
Albert and Ester are the kindest hosts I could ever hope to meet. We felt so welcome and appreciated in their beautiful home. The location is perfect, a short walk into the busy downtown but far enough to find quiet nights with windows open. The space itself is amazing but upon coming inside it truly reveals the European ambience I was so surprised to find in Alberta. I cannot recommend this place enough, I would give this place all the stars in the sky!
