Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Nestled near a park and the town, Banff Caribou Lodge & Spa is appreciated for its prime location, despite a 20-minute stroll to downtown Banff. The hotel's charming mountain lodge atmosphere is well-received, though some visitors suggest updates are needed. Guests commend the tidy rooms and the complimentary Roam transit passes but have mixed feelings about the service, with reports of both friendly staff and occasional inattentiveness. While some guests find the value satisfactory, opinions diverge on the food pricing and additional charges.

Visited in Feb 2024. A little overpriced. Rooms are standard furniture and decorations.Room had large entry to store ski equipment and cloths. Staff was excellent they helped microwave food we bought. Location is great. Would stay again

The Banff Caribou Lodge is centrally located in the town and has easy access to and from the ski area in the area. Has a restaurant on location and walking distance to many shopping and eating places. The employees were very friendly and helpful. Comfortable rooms and nice indoor hot tub.

Hotel well below par. Must have been nice some years ago. Stayed for 21 nights. Found out after 11 nights that we had been given a standard room and not the superior room we had paid for. Asked to see manager at front desk and a young woman replied I’m the manager. She was very dismissive and was rude in her approach and constantly interrupted while we we’re trying to explain the situation. On asking her name she ignored the question and walked away. Holiday company has been contacted. Room was dirty. Sheets not changed for the whole stay. Heating controller didn’t work. Was told it’s automatic. Windows would not open. Window screen screwed on and held with gaffa tape. Wall paper peeling. Pictures torn. Seating damaged. All room furniture damaged. Ironing board disgusting. Enamel bath was damaged and rusty. Bed had brackets protruding at shin level. Light shade’s filthy. Bathroom door stop missing. Holes in floor. Carpets in room not hoovered. Large protruding eaves in the room. Not on trip advisor pictures as a superior room. Standard. This was our bucket list holiday to celebrate our 60 birthdays and engagement. Banff is a must but just not this hotel. Book elsewhere.

A good hotel. Stayed with family. Rooms and corridors are clean, great WiFi throughout and a good bar with decent prices. A small gym, with a large hot tub and sauna are free to use. The on site restaurant, the keg has good food at decent prices. The ski bus stops straight outside, and is one of the first pick ups / drop offs. A 15 minute walk into town.

Wonderful hotel! Clean rooms. Nice location. The in-hotel restaurant, the KEG, is great. I ate there multiple times during my stay. I would stay here again if I return to the Banff area. The hotel is also near a bus stop which is convenient for visiting nearby attractions.

The hotel is OK but needs some revamping. - The beds and bedding were not comfortable. We had the room in front of the elevator and the sound isolation is very bad (big gap on each side and under the door) so lot of noise was coming into the room. I feel like this could be better. The room also need better aeration and a bathroom fan! + Close enough to town (1 km) if you don’t mind walking. Free access to city bus (Roam transit), bus stop at 1 min walk. Hot pool (large hot tub) is nice after a day of skiing. Buffet for breakfast at the Keg (in the hotel) is good. Nice lobby with wood fireplace. Reception and cleaning staff were nice.

Atmosphere, spectacular!! Staff were very welcoming. Supervisor that checked us in evening of Dec 13 was very nice. Room was comfortable and the lobby was my favorite as so much of the Christmas 🎄 was showing. Do many lights in and outside was inviting. The only thing I would possibly change is add a few fufferent dishes to the keg menu. Maybe more figure appetizer kind if things.

My husband's company booked us all at this hotel for the annual Christmas party. We would not have chosen this hotel ourselves, just due to location. We prefer to be more central. Check in was smooth. Service was not unfriendly but definitely not overly welcoming either. Parking garage is heated. Our room was clean and cozy. The bed wasn't super comfortable. Neither of us had a good sleep. Our room temperature was way too hot, which didn't help the sleep situation. We tried to change the thermostat but that didn't get us far. They provide a small fan for you to plug in and use though, so there's that. We asked the lady at the front desk to call our group a third taxi (after asking for 2) and she was rude and didn't hide her displeasure in assisting us with this task. Hot tub was nice. The fireplace in the lobby is beautiful and the Christmas decorations were wonderful!

Our room (109) was spacious, beautifully clean and contained 2 comfortable double beds. The bathroom was a good size and had a shower over a bath. Toiletries were in refillable containers both at the hand basin and the bath/shower. There was a laundry for guest use - $2 each for washing machine and dryer, $2 for laundry powder. Very handy! The hotel restaurant, The Keg, served delicious meals and a lovely buffet breakfast. Located on the edge of town, it was a 25 minute walk to the centre. However, it was right on the route for the Roam bus which was convenient for getting to sightseeing spots. The hotel provided complimentary 2 day transit passes for the Roam bus! We would definitely stay here again!

I'm sooooo disappointed with this stay and I wouldn't recommend to anyone who is wanting to stay here in this hell hole. vending machines don't work I was over charged and had terrible terrible customer service and I still have one more night in this god foresaking place they call a hotel and a spa before going home. I'm soooo disappointed it was supposed to be a birthday getaway for my friend and a mental health getaway for me but it's been nothing but stress and disappointment. I just want to go home and forget this trip ever happened 😪 😪
