Friendly and knowledgeable staff will greet you when you first arrive at the Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity. Nestles among the Rockies within walking distance to downtown, it is the best of both worlds. Beautifully designed rooms, an art gallery and buildings interspersed with art along with the beautiful setting it is sure to inspire you and give you the perspective you need. Delicious food that meets most dietary restrictions are available. I would return to this place in a heart beat!

Excellent environment and facilities. Very nice and peaceful. Idea for rest and recreation. A bit expensive though. The room was cozy with a good view. For us as Muslim food options were a bit limited. The chef was helpful and provided us some additional options.

I have been hosted at Banff for several BIRS conferences, and the quality of service is unbeatable, with superb food. The atmosphere and the astonishing surroundings make each conference I have attended a unique experience.

I was here on a business trip for 5 days and loved it. The whole venue was great - food fabulous, great recreation facilities and work spaces were perfect. On top of the business aspects, the setting is amazing and I never tired of the incredible views from the dining areas. Wonderful.

Best way to experience Banff! A short walk to the town, you get amazing views, easy access to multiple trails, my favourite restaurant of all time (Vistas), an art gallery, recreation centre, and so much more!

I hesitated between a 2 or a 3 rating as our stay was OK overall but given the premium price I feel the 2 is fair. Stayed in Lloyd Hall. The rooms themselves are reasonably nice, spacious and clean, but temperature control can be an issue. Our room was consistently around 24 celsius despite the thermostat set to 15 (off, basically) and the window being open (hovering around 10C outside). The front desk was helpful and moved us to another room which was more comfortable. It seems there is an old hydronic heating system in place and retained when the building was renovated which can cause uneven distribution of heat if your room is too close to the supply lines. For visitors during warmer times, note that there is no AC but rooms come with a fan. Be aware that rooms are extremely dry, but this is not the hotel's fault, it's just the area/elevation. It would be nice if humidifiers were included in each room as my other hotels during this trip did. Views in our 2 rooms were not great, and the first room on the lower level was also near a place where trucks insisted on backing up (beep beep) for prolonged periods each morning. Soundproofing wasn't great in general but other guests nearby were quiet so this was fine. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are laundry machines on site but note that the change machine doesn't work and the washers cost $2 but don't take twoonies, so make sure you have a healthy supply of quarters or $1 coins. The dryers did not work, at all. I tried multiple machines (cleaned their lint filters) and $5 worth of dryer loads and my clothes were cold and wet regardless. The exhaust lines were haphazardly run (literally folding on themselves for a full length of tubing even though the other end of the connection is inches away) and are almost certainly completely clogged. I was thankfully able to get a bunch of hangers from front desk and use the provided fan in the room to dry off the clothes before checkout. I wasn't going to make a fuss over $5 but it would have been nice if it was acknowledged when checking out.

I was told what to expect at reservation, yet upon arrival was not delivered on that expectation. The rooms are dated and our room needs upkeep. Dirty toilet, carpet pulling up, heat registers crooked and need new paint, cabinetry was loose and drawers did not close or open easily. I would not stay here again. It is large campus and feels like a community college that is a bit of a ghost town. Perhaps it was once a model property - not any longer. Lots of potential with some updates needed. We had a stroller and there is no easy path into town - stairs or take the road. Not my preference with a stroller.

I brought my family (wife and 1 year old) along with me as I attended a professional conference. Unfortunately upon arrival, I was told we had not booked a crib (when I had requested this upon booking months ago and also confirmed it 3 days prior to arrival). When a crib finally arrived an hour later, it was broken. It took another hour to replace this with another broken crib. For whatever reason, there was so much hesitatio of the staff just to replace the first crib only to then provide a second crib that was also broken. We were happy to sleep on a floor mattress with our baby. We then were finally provided a mattress. Once we set everything up and were about to put him to sleep, now 2 hours beyond his bedtime, they called on the phone and stated they need to take the mattress away as it was a fire hazard. They replaced this with another crib (one that finally worked. Previously they stated there were no other cribs available. I believe this is either out of ignorance or laziness to check). All of the above was met with arrogance from the service desk staff and the manager, who were frankly rude and apathetic to the situation. What's more is that our bathroom had a vomit stench which was cleaned on the evening of our 2nd day in the accommodation (PDC). This was nothing subtle and I would have expected that the room would have been cleaned prior to our arrival. Overall, the organisers entrusted the Banff Centre for the delivery and care for the all the guests. I do not think that was provided by the Centre. The only reason my review is not a 1/5 is because the food provided by the kitchen (Vista) was excellent. Overall, a beautiful location and the potential to be excellent, but there is a clear need for improvement in many areas.

I went to the centre for a week long workshop (40 participants). Overall, great service, friendly staff, and amenities, with the pool, steam room and fitness centre. The location is amazing. The quality of the food in particular was exceptional, with great variety and quality products.
