We booked a last minute trip to Banff this weekend. We were looking for accommodations that offered suites. We typically stay at the Rimrock when we visit Banff, however due to rising costs we needed something more reasonably priced. We booked the King-Queen loft suite and what a great choice! The room was huge, with so much space. The hotel is definitely dated, but the rooms were clean as a whistle, the staff great, pool area wonderful and the restaurant at the hotel was delicious. It is a bit of a walk to the downtown core but totally doable. My daughter and I walked it every morning for coffees. About a 10-15 min walk. The hotel will also give you bus passes to hop on the Roam transit buses if walking is too much of a task. Great stay!! Very quiet hotel!

The hotel itself has a nice appearance, the rooms are clean and the staff super friendly and helpful. They had a big selection of free DVDs to chill with and a nice swim /hot tub area. Lots of free parking.

The downside was the halls and elevator were not very clean, the bedding (mattresses and pillows) were super uncomfortable and it was strangely loud (heard doors slamming all night). We stayed a week and I don’t use housekeeping services but tried to trade my towels for clean ones and was told i had to get special permission from the front desk as they don’t provide clean towels to existing guests, only at check in/out. I thought that was weird. Location was not ideal but it was ok if you don't mind a walk. I thought it was fine but others might prefer to be a little closer to downtown.

Lastly, Coffee in the AM would have been really nice.

After a great stay in June 2020, I went back for a couple of nights in June 2021. I was again very happy with the hotel. The staff was all very pleasant. The room was clean and quiet. There were still Covid restrictions at the time and I felt very safe during my stay. The pool and gym facilities were open and were able to be booked each morning for an hour per group. I was so happy to get back in to a pool after everything being closed for so long. The pool was large enough to do laps in which was great. The mini fridge in the room was perfect for storing my groceries and leftover pizza from the onsite restaurant. I look forward to staying here again.

We stayed for three nights. Service from the front desk was good. We had a nice room at the back of the building with a small balcony looking out to the mountains. The bed and pillows were comfy. Good wifi. Room had a fridge but no microwave. No housekeeping provided due to covid. The pool was open but we did not use it. Hot tub was closed (covid). Parking in the underground garage was easy and we had no problem getting a spot. The hotel is in Banff North so it’s a small walk to downtown. We ate at restaurants within a 5 minute walk.

EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED with our whole experience.
We opted for the King Jacuzzi Suite and found bugs all over the room, the jacuzzi tub was yellowed and when we turned the jets on there was a rank odor and algae coming out of the nozzles.
The shower was only 2'6" square and the ceiling was at 6'6", as someone who is 6'2" tall I had to crouch down to even get below the shower head and had no room to even turn around in the shower without bumping into the shampoo dispensers and the temperature dial.
Every faucet in the room leaked (sink flooded the top of the counter, tub faucet leaked to the ground and all over my phone on the edge of the tub, in the shower it even leaked).
The pillows in the bed were about half length, extra thick and extremely firm so that our heads were propped up at awkward angles. This combined with a firm bed led us to barely sleep.
Small fridge was provided but with no microwave or any other appliances or amenities means that no food could be reheated, this is an expectation for any hotel room these days.
Overall this was the worst hotel or even motel experience that we have ever had, even after paying more than double of the most we have previously spent. This actually put a huge damper on our anniversary that was supposed to be a special night (First year!!)
We told the hotel staff about this while checking out and she did not give a care in the world at all. I wish to just forget this night and experience and we will be recommending every single person we know against this hotel and hotel chain.

Dear Sean, We are always extremely disappointed to receive such negative feedback regarding stay here – we strive to provide all of our guests with a positive hotel experience that enhances their visit to Banff. As readers of the other reviews here will be able to see, we very often achieve that goal, but if and when things do go wrong we want to find out why and see what we can do to make things right. It is regretful that you saved this concerning list of issues for an online review instead of mentioning any of them to any of our staff or management in person, either during your stay or at check-out. Our Front Desk Agent did ask how your stay was at check-out, but whilst you indicated that you were not happy, you declined to tell us why even when she asked for further information. Unfortunately, that makes it very difficult for us to address your concerns or to seek a fair and amicable resolution that may help to make up for your disappointment. Since seeing your review here, we have investigated the issues you listed above and are content that the faucets and jetted tub in that room are working as they should, the pillows are regular size, and the amenities provided are exactly as advertised on the website you booked through. We do hope you were able to enjoy the other aspects of your visit to Banff National Park and if you wish to reach out to me directly to discuss these issues further I am always happy to have a chat. Kind regards.

So pleased with our one night stay at Rundlestone Lodge. We stayed in a standard room with two queen beds and it was spacious, clean, quiet and the beds were very comfortable. We loved the pool and hottub. It really was quite classy for a very reasonable price. We received a 20% discount at a local restaurant, which we took advantage of. The lodge is several blocks from the centre of town, a nice walk to and from shops and places to eat. Free underground parking was a bonus.
Complementary coffee in the reception area - nice touch. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had stayed at the Rundlestone a couple of times in previous years and they have greatly improved this time. They must have new owners. As soon as we entered the hotel I knew it was going to be a great stay as the staff that assisted us with our check in was wonderful! (I wish I could remember her name) We upgraded our room and had the loft jacuzzi suite. The room was clean and travelling throughout the hotel I was never concerned about covid. We had a great stay and will be back

Excellent place. Extremely clean. Walking to downtown Banff is completely doable and only takes 15 minutes. Pool is awesome. Staff was amazing. The restaurant in the hotel was quiet but the perfect place to grab some drinks before going out. Underground parking is a huge win as well.

We had a multiple night stay and our room was not what we expected. We expressed our disappointment and were contacted by the front office manager Amelie. She was able quickly resolve and we changed rooms (for a very reasonable upcharge). They are located a 5-10 minute walk from downtown so in a quieter and less busy area of town. Directly call the desk as emails go to head office before being sent back to the hotel. I would stay here again if returning to Banff.

We stayed in the family suite for two nights and were happy with everything! My husband and I, from Innisfail, have stayed at this hotel many times over the years but this is the first time in the family suite which had two bedrooms, two balconies and a great view of the mountains. The front desk people were fantastic, giving help and advice before and during our stay. Ken, Goodge, Demi & Mykayla were very accommodating. Patrinos, the restaurant downstairs, provided room service both nights for dinner......their pizza is incredible! We highly recommend the Rundlestone Lodge. Cheers, Linda & Rae

Where do you go for breakfast?
3 helpful votes
There is a restaurant here in the hotel that provides breakfast daily for a extra charge. Their exact opening hours and menu options are currently dependent on the Covid related restrictions that are in place so feel free to contact us directly with your dates of stay and we can provide you with more detailed information. There are also other restaurants nearby that have great breakfast menus.

Hello looking to stay in May, is your hot tub open? Do any of the rooms have jacuzzis if it is not?

Pool and hot pool use is subject to change at any time, including last minute closure of any amenities. Some of our rooms have a private jetted bathtub or spa tub.
