We are always super happy with Canalta Lodge. This last visit we asked to move to another room after about a half hour after checking in. Lawrence had no issues with coming up and showing us another room and making sure we were happy! That’s the kind of service we can count on at Canalta Lodge!
Great hotel great breakfast great service. The hot tubs, sauna and cold plunge are a treat as well. I think it’s the best place to stay in Banff. Rooms were very clean parking was very convenient. The s’mores were a great touch as well.
The front desk staff were excellent! Very helpful and polite. I felt they went above and beyond. Our room was very clean and well appointed. The complimentary breakfast was tasty and had a variety options, both hot and cold. We would definitely stay again!
We stayed at Canalta over the Christmas period. We had a Loft room for 4 members of my family and there was more that a enough room for all of us and we had limited cooking equipment. The staff were all extremely friendly and would help in any way that they could. The staff at the Happy Camper (hotel bar) were great. Good knowledge of drink and were willing to try new thing The breakfast were great, enough variety so it didn't get boring. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others
What was supposed to be a three night stay ended up being only one due to road closures. We made the most of it by staying at the lodge for the duration enjoying their bar and food selections and our daughters took advantage of the outdoor hot tubs. We had a family room with kitchenette which was more than enough for the four of us. An indoor heated garage is always a plus in the Winter. All of the staff made an effort to help us enjoy our stay, albeit much shorter than we had hoped. Make sure you are a dog lover (we are but did not have ours with us) as they were quite a few staying at the lodge as well. Hopefully we will have a chance to come back sooner rather than later.
Reserved a king room and when we got to the room we realized it was right next to the elevator. Sat in the room for 5 minutes and the noise coming from the elevator was pretty loud so we asked to be moved to a different room. The only thing available (apparently) was a queen room. We took it because my husband’s a light sleeper and gets grumpy when he doesn’t have a good sleep. Walked into the room to find out it was a handicap accessible room so the bathroom was HUGE, but the bedroom part was the size of a broom closet. Just enough room to walk around the bed. The only chair was the one at the desk. No table. We were only there for a night so it wasn’t the end of the world, but we could still hear everything going on in that half of the hotel. In the morning there was some snow removal going on outside and we could hear the beeping very clearly in the room. What pissed me off the most is that while laying in bed that night, I checked expedia and they still had 6 king rooms available but we were told our only option was to move to a queen. Gotta love spending almost $300 for a downgrade from your own bed at home.…
We had stayed at the Rimrock the last time we came to Banff and found it a little soulless, the opposite is true of the Canalta lodge. Family feel and front of house were always more than happy to help and advise on where to eat and things to do. Singling out Kieran especially for always being friendly and going the extra mile. We stayed in a big family room over looking the back courtyard. One note is that the hot tubs operate until 11pm so if you need the windows open and you are going to bed before 11 you might get some noise. However after a day on the slopes we really didn’t notice it too much. Breakfast has plenty of choice. Hot options like scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes and porridge. Plenty of choices for bread and the boys loved the pancakes from the machines. The bar is quite small but it’s means it’s not a feature of the lobby and you can take your drinks and sit in comfortable seats. Kristopher and the other staff can even rustle you up a great coffee if the filter coffee doesn’t give you the hit you need. The hot tubs and sauna are a great way to finish off a day and the plunge pool is a nice touch for the brave. If we come back to Banff which I hope we do I would hope to come back to the canalta.…
Loved this hotel. Lots of charm and warmth. Breakfast was good each day. Room was very clean and a great size. The staff was so friendly. Lawrence who is the concierge is fantastic. The location is great. Only about a 15 minute walk to town. If we visit again this will be where I will stay.
We loved the Canalta Lodge! Within walking distance of all of the shops and restaurants, and mountain views on both sides. Staff was super friendly and helpful, concierge Kieran was especially helpful, and offered to upgrade us when we extended our stay - we felt very well taken care of. The rooms were spacious and cozy, the room with the King-size bed had a full kitchenette, dining table and balcony. Having access to a fridge, microwave, Nespresso machine, hot water (and cold filtered water on the first floor!), heated underground parking & access to washing machines made us feel comfortable and at home. The jacuzzis, saunas and outdoor fire, along with the evening s'mores ingredients were part of the cozy winter Banff charm. Room service was excellent as well. Decor was cute/ modern Canadiana. Absolutely recommend!…
We stayed here for three nights and didn’t want to leave. Comfortable, very well priced, quaint, great customer service and I really enjoyed the breakfast! Would most definitely stay here again. Also noted this place is dog friendly, and it made me happy to see so many well behaved doggos in the lobby!
