Experience Banff National Park's exclusive, private and romantic log cabin bed and breakfast. Located within walking distance to downtown and the Fairmont Banff Springs. Includes private parking, high speed internet and gourmet breakfast. Perfect for a romantic getaway, honeymoon or special occasion.
The accommodations at the log cabin were amazing. It was very centrally located so that we only had a 10 minute walk to downtown Banff and Bow River. It was very tastefully decorated, and it was a very romantic, intimate, setting . It was very private yet if we needed anything Sharon and Malcolm was there to assist us. It was perfect down to every detail. Breakfast was delivered each morning at the time that we requested. The muffins are as delicious as described on the website. Sharon and Malcolm couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back. Thank you Sharon and Malcolm

What a place to stay! The Banff Log Cabin is a truly idyllic little place to stay within a stunning part of Banff, we couldn’t fault it at all. It’s owned by a wonderful couple, Sharon & Malcolm, they are such incredible people who make sure you feel comfortable and settled immediately, the attention to detail to ensure your stay is perfect is unlike anything we have experienced before. Sharon had been driving us around as part of our pre-wedding itinerary (for which she was our planner), she pulled up to the cabin and we were just in awe, it’s picture perfect! She guided us to the door and Malcom came along with a beaming smile to say hello and both then proceeded to take us in to the cabin and give us all the information we could need. When they opened the door the door, side lamps and fire were on, it was perfect, we felt at home in an instant as it’s just what we love and got unpacking… We then headed out for a few hours to enjoy the cold air and walk around Banff. Returning after dark, lamps and fire still on to give us the cosy feel and there were some lovely locally made chocolates on the pillows. The bed was incredibly comfy with fresh linen and supportive pillows, the bathroom spacious with a large powerful shower and lovely scented shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap, all local of course, you even get a robe which is super soft and fluffy as well as Banff Log Cabin slippers (which you can take home). When it comes to breakfast, gosh… it’s spectacular! Freshly baked muffins of your choice, or waffles, fresh fruit, yoghurt, juice and tea / coffee (on top of the wide selection of herbal teas and hot chocolate available in the cabin). The muffins are hot out the oven and utterly divine, we highly recommend the banana & cranberry! All delivered to you on a silver tray and laid out ready for you to enjoy at your leisure. One afternoon we were heading out the door and Malcolm called after us, he offered to drive us to town as he was heading there any way, chatting in the car we said we were only heading there to get some fizzy drinks (pop) for our fridge, Malcolm dropped us at Nesters and we went about our afternoon. We got back to the cabin after a couple of hours and to our surprise there were some ice cold cans of pop waiting for us… this level of thoughtfulness is exceptional, but it’s all done in such an effortless manner, it really sets the’ apart from all other hotels / B&Bs but highlights how wonderful Sharon & Malcolm truly are. The Banff Log Cabin is utterly magical and Sharon & Malcolm are the absolute perfect hosts, we didn’t want to leave… ever! We cannot recommend this highly enough, if you are visiting Banff for any reason; holiday, wedding, anniversary, quick break, whatever it may be… go to the Banff Log Cabin! Thank you Sharon & Malcolm for your amazing hospitality and for giving us an unforgettable experience, we can’t wait to be back (aiming for Christmas 2024, if not before!).…

We stayed in the beautiful Banff log cabin for 8 days, over Easter 2022. From the moment we arrived and opened the door, we fell in love with this cabin. It was dark when we arrived. The fire was lit, the lighting was perfect and we had some beautiful gifts left for us, as part of the turn down service. We immediately felt at home. The cabin was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy and had all the little comforts we would need during our stay. Our hosts Malcolm and Sharon arrived shortly afterwards and introduced themselves. They were a lovely friendly couple and went out of their way to tell us about the local areas, the places of interest and took our breakfast order for the following day. The cabin had lots to entertain us and there were plenty of maps and leaflets made available la to us, to help us explore the surrounding areas. This is addition to the knowledge that Malcolm and Sharon were able to pass on to us, made our stay very enjoyable and helped us getting around, so that we could pack in as much sightseeing as possible during our stay. Breakfast was delivered at our chosen time each morning and consisted of a choice of the most amazing homemade muffins, warm from the oven, with a bowl of fresh fruit, yoghurt, juice, tea or coffee. There was also a choice of homemade waffles, which were also truly amazing and I don’t usually have a sweet tooth. Breakfast was beautifully presented each morning, and was very romantic, when the fire was lit, creating a warm and cosy ambience. It was hard to leave the cabin as we loved it so much. The bed was really comfortable, with plenty of blankets and the bathroom had the most amazing shower, probably one of the most powerful I have ever experienced. Linen was changed on request and cabin was left clean and comfy for us every day, when we returned after long days of sight seeing and walking. One evening we arrived back to some beautiful Prosecco on ice and some local chocolate delights, which we received each evening as part of our turn down service. The cabin was in a great location, near the river, an easy stroll in to town and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a holiday with a difference. It was an amazing experience and we would love to return someday. We would not stay anywhere else in Banff, now that we know this lovely log cabin provides such an unique and unforgettable experience. A truly rare and unforgettable find. Thank you Malcolm & Sharon for making our time at the cabin so special.…

Due to Covid restrictions we had to reschedule twice but we’re so glad we finally made it! We celebrated our anniversary during our visit. Malcom and Sharon went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, even giving us a bottle of champagne for the occasion. Despite being one of the hottest weekends in memory we were fairly comfortable in our cozy log cabin, cooled by three floor fans. Each morning we were treated with a delicious homemade breakfast, including Malcom’s amazing blueberry muffins. Several hiking trails and downtown are within easy walking distance. Sports activities and sightseeing venues are a short drive or bus ride away. A delightful experience!

We feel incredibly fortunate to have stayed at the Banff Log Cabin for 5 nights. We celebrated our 2nd anniversary in Banff and Malcom and Sharon helped to make the entire experience amazing. This lovely cabin is charming, romantic, comfortable and ideally located. It's a short walk to Bow Falls and the Fairmont as well as to the center of town. Don't want to walk? Then bike! We were offered two townie bikes which were just perfect for a ride over to town to experience the Farmer's Market. The Cabin - which is entirely private - has a welcoming entrance, complete with firepit and "fairy lights." You can enjoy your delicious breakfast on the front porch overlooking the woods or enjoy it in your room in the comfy robe and slippers provided for you (and you can even keep the slippers as a keepsake!). As we were there for 5 nights we were able to enjoy almost the entire menu of INCREDIBLE muffins (and waffles!) which are served alongside fresh seasonal fruit, juice, yogurt and coffee or tea. Malcom and Sharon add extra niceities to your experience by offering a turn-down service and leaving beautiful, locally-made chocolates (shaped like moose, bears, love birds, etc.) on your pillows each night. They also leave bubby waters for you to enjoy and we even were given a beautiful bottle of prosecco. The water from the tap is filtered and delicious. There is a little fridge for your use and a HUGE assorted of teas available in your room (and coffee, too) for you to enjoy at your leisure. Sharon was able to share with us her favorite spots in Banff to visit which were spot-on; both she and Malcolm have a wealth of information about what to see and do in the area and their suggestions are all excellent. From hikes to gondolas to restaurants to nearby cities they have seen and done it all. Guide books are available in your room as well, as is a TV (which we never used - we were too busy exploring the natural beauty of the area) - and there's even a guitar hanging on the wall. Free wi-fi and parking, too. The cabin is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood and we were so pleased one morning to wake up and see an elk mama and her baby grazing on the grass just outside the front door. This place is magical (suited for couples) and we highly recommend staying here if you are traveling to or through Banff - for either a short or an extended stay. We hope to be able to return some day. Thank you, Malcolm and Sharon!…

We stayed 6 nights at the Banff Log Cabin for the first part of our honeymoon. The experience was absolutely delightful. Malcolm and Sharon were extraordinarily kind, helpful, and hospitable. The cabin had everything needed including games, books about the region, dishes, coffee, bathrobes and slippers. Breakfast each morning was a joyful interaction with our hosts as they brought in freshly baked muffins or waffles. We ate the leftovers as hiking snacks packed in brown bags provided in our room. My husband and I used the available and complimentary bikes to ride to town, Vermillion lakes, Cave and Basin, bow river trail, and legacy trail. Banff Log Cabin was the ideal environment for rest and enjoyment of one another. We strongly recommend this bed and breakfast without reservation.…

My husband and I are returning guests and spent the most magical Christmas at Banff Log Cabin. We spent 5 nights at the beginning of our trip, followed by another 2 nights at the end of our trip. The cabin itself is everything you'd expect and more for a log cabin experience. Even with the -40 Celsius temps experienced during our week in Banff, we were toasty warm! The owners - Sharon and Malcolm, are truly amazing hosts. By the end of our stay, they honestly felt like good friends. They are so accommodating and thoughtful with all of the small treats left in the cabin during the turndown service. We especially loved the breakfast every morning. Our stay was long enough to be able to try everything on the menu, so we didn't miss out. Lemon poppyseed muffins were my absolute fave. My husband loved the waffles. Malcolm kindly set up the bonfire outside the cabin one evening. All we had to do was light it. The walk to town takes only 10 minutes, and it is very scenic. You might even see some wildlife on the trail. We much preferred this experience than staying in the larger Fairmont / Rimrock resorts... especially as a couple (and parking is free)! If you are lucky enough to score a reservation here at Banff Log Cabin, you won't be disappointed. This cabin is exceptional.…

My fiance and I picked this place as part of our elopement package in Banff. It was the right call. Malcolm and Sharon, who own and manage the place, are absolutely amazing hosts. You can tell they have been doing this for years. The cabin is a small building with that old-world feel. Yes, it's rustic, but that is what you're paying for. That being said, it is still modern (wifi, running water, heat, electricity, etc). It has enough room for a couple. If you have kids, I'd look elsewhere as this place caters to couples only. The breakfast that is included in your package is outstanding. We had muffins one morning, and the the next morning we had the waffles. Malcolm is an amazing cook! Plus, you get fresh fruit, coffee/tea, and orange juice. Loved all of it. If I was going to make one recommendation, it would be to update the mattress on the bed. Both my fiance/wife and I found it to be uncomfortable and old. I'd suggest replacing it with a pillow top mattress. You pay for rustic, but should still be comfortable when you sleep. Overall, this is a great place to stay. We will be back.…

Response from Sharon Carmichael, Owner at Banff Log Cabin B&B
Responded Apr 23, 2022
Hi Rod & Tanya, Thanks for your wonderful review and we are so happy to know you had a great time in Banff and enjoyed the cabin. I have to tell you, we just purchased a brand new ENDY Mattress, it is only a couple of months old! We did a lot of research before we purchased it as we wanted to make sure it would be the most comfortable option for the widest range of people, so we are a bit sad and disappointed to know you didn't find it comfortable (we have had so many compliments from other guests). Oh well :-( We certainly hope you will be back as we really enjoyed meeting you both. Sharon & Malcolm XX

We stayed a week at the Banff Log Cabin in February for our wedding elopement (Elope in Banff, which is Carmichaels elopement company) and couldn’t have asked for better! The cabin is cozy and rustic with a whole lot of history. The Carmichaels have done an amazing job with the restoration. It is simply wonderful. We absolutely loved Sharon’s choice of decor. So many homemade touches inside. The Carmichaels make it an extra special stay because of their welcoming, warm hospitality. They have extensive knowledge of areas to visit, places to eat and the location is fantastic! You have your privacy but still are walking distance to some great places and views. We especially enjoyed the homemade breakfasts delivered in rustic style. This cabin is a perfect getaway for anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing, stress-free stay in Banff. We can’t wait to return.…

As many other reviews have stated, if you’ve chosen to elope in Banff, and stay somewhere with exceptional service, this is the place. Sharon and Malcom made our experience unforgettable, our wedding day was perfect and every time we returned to the cabin we were met with a special treat. The cabin is cozy, clean and romantic, and the outside is lit up beautifully and it’s perfect to have a relaxing fire outside using the fire pit. The breakfast options you select are made daily and are SO delicious. It’s less than a 10 minute walk to downtown, and we loved that it was in a residential area so it was very quiet and private. Hospitality/customer service/food- amazing. Highly recommended.
