You cannot beat how close this place is to Lake Louise unless you are willing to spend at the Fairmont. The hotel is literally diagonally across from the LL parking exit! Quaint place, really a piece of history, so NO ELEVATOR! Water pressure is good but the drainage system was not really working at the bathtub where we stayed. Toilet is the perfect height for our 4 year-old to sit on without a stool...if you are 6ft3, great squatting exercises. The part we stayed at got no TV, no fridge, but who needs a TV when you are next to LL? Lol... Staff are great, helpful and friendly, nice food selection at the restaurants. Not sure if it was due to COVID or not, the housekeeping only makes up the room unless you stay for 3 nights; even we did but we needed to call the front desk and let them know we required the services. Anyway a perfect location if you are visiting the Lake and don't want to get stressed out about getting a parking spot, as you can walk over whenever you would like. …
Walking distance to Lake Louise. Friendly Staff at the lodge, lounge and restaurant. The food and drinks were amazing. The rooms are basic, and the duvet cover did bunch up. There is no television, but I got used to that. It is a wonderful place to rest, relax, and enjoy the beauty of Lake Louise.
We had a short time here that may reflect our experience as average. Hotel stay was brief as the check in was in the evening and next morning had to leave early for airport. Staff service was goo with a smile but substance was missing.
No trip to the Rockies would be complete without a trip to lake Louise. If looking for a quaint hotel with charm and just steps to the fairmont then this is a perfect choice. Friendly staff, great restaurant and comfortable accommodations. Hotel is reasonably priced and you can’t beat the views from the outdoor hot tub. Lots of towels.
Despite some reviews indicating the lodge is a bit dated, we actually loved it! It has this rustic look and feel that makes you feel so relaxed and fits in well with the aura of Banff. The rooms were super modern and comfortable. Staff was unreal and very kind. Restaurant served amazing food and we were treated very well! The roof-top hot tub is a must do! We did morning sunrise, afternoon and night-time, and each offered a completely different feel. I highly recommend a stay here.
Deer lodge is an excellent location. Could walk to the lake. The rooms are small and quaint. The restaurants were excellent. The ambiance of the hotel was nice. Hot tub with those views was an added bonus. Noisy when water is running and not very sound proof but that comes with the age of the hotel. Nice little get-away, will be back.
Love the quaintness and history of this hotel and especially the rooftop hot tub with gorgeous views of nearby mountains and glacier. Dining room choices wonderful, food delicious and service excellent.
Wild animals in the hotel. Found out mid meal that there was pine martens in the dishwasher. No amenities in room. Was there for 5 days, no fridge. Customer service was poor, and they mislead you on charges. The fees are all charged at checkout, however they hold your money until you checkout. Was a bad place to stay especially with many other nicer options in the area. Would never stay there again.
Traveled to ski at Lake Louise and Banff, will definitely stay here again! Perfect lodging only needs some updating in the hallways, new windows here and there, otherwise room was very clean and comfortable! Love the Rustic and low-key vibe!!!
This is an old school grand old lodge. It may not have all the modern amenities, but that is what makes it so unique. You stay here for the charm and relaxed attitude. The restaurant is one of the best in Lake Louise
