Paradise Lodge and Bungalows offers a unique setting of individual cabins and suites in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Located only 1 Km from Lake Louise and 20 time Alberta Housekeeping Award winner, Paradise Lodge and Bungalows exceeds expectations. Attention to detail and a welcoming atmosphere makes a destination to come back to.
Our stay at Paradise Lodge and Bungalows was excellent. It was everything we had hoped for!
We stayed in the Feuz cabin, which was the only cabin of it's type, conveniently nestled at the back of the site out of the way of the rest of the cabins. This meant our balcony area wasn't overlooked by any other cabins and that the only view was of mountains and nature - perfect and a lovely surprise!
The cabin itself was compact but roomy enough for our three day stay with a main living area and separate bathroom. We were able to self cater using the microwave and sink area and microwave dishes, bowls, cutlery were all provided along with a toaster and single cup coffee maker. Perfect for knocking together meals and breakfast to eat on the balcony. Had we wanted to eat out, Lake Louise town is minutes away. For extensive options, Banff is about 45 minutes away.
Paradise Lodge and Bungalows is about a mile (20 minute walk) uphill to Lake Louise which means you always have that option should parking at the lake have filled up ans shuttles booked up. We opted for an early 6am start and were able to park after a very short drive from the bungalow.
Staff were friendly and welcoming and it was lovely to return the bungalow each day to find coffee and cereal bars restocked, the bed made and washing up even returned to the cupboard. Highly recommended.

After leaving Banff and visiting a couple of local lakes (Peyto and Bow), it was close enough to check-in so we drove back to Lake Louise. It was very busy and we queued from the bottom of the hill by the service area and crawled to the accommodation.
We booked the Wilson Cabin over a year ago and this was more than adequate for our needs. We were allocated number 7, Mt Whyte. There is no air conditioning in this lodge but we were aware of this before booking and although the weather was pleasant, the lodge didn’t get overly hot as there are plenty of trees on the grounds providing shade. A desk fan had been provided (we also had our own USB fans too). Each lodge has its own parking spot.
There is a coffee machine, microwave, fridge and a sink in this lodge. Tea, coffee, packets of porridge (oatmeal) and two cereal bars are provided and refreshed daily. There is a small table and chairs. There is also a safe which was handy to lock away valuables when you are not in the lodge. There is a lovely fire too for the winter months (obviously we didn’t use this when we were there in early July).
There was plenty of space and storage provided for our 3 night stay. Our lodge was located pretty much in the centre of the grounds. The BBQ was located to the rear of the lodge and was used the first night we were there. The view from the back of the lodge looks towards other lodges and Whitehorn Mountain. The front looks towards the reception building.
After check-in, we walked to Lake Louise (takes around 20 minutes, firstly on walking on the side of the road, then after crossing over, on a footpath set back from the road).
All accommodation in the Lake Louise area is expensive, this one a little more. But given its location to Lake Louise and the fact that you can walk, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks of paying either $21 to park (no cost reduction for a short visit) or for the cost / time element of the shuttle (although this will take you to Moraine Lake too as you are not allowed to drive there). Also, recently I was made aware that they closed the Lake Louise area due to overcrowding, so being a “resident” has its benefits.

Learning how to book and do transport for Lake Louise and Lake Morraine now you can no longer drive to the latter is complicated, not helped by the confusing Parks Canada website. So I'll start on that subject which may make sense to anyone who has tried to already get their head around it. We stayed here because you can actually walk easily to Lake Louise. You can no longer drive to Lake Morraine, so if you have purchased a shuttle ticket online and you have proof of your Paradise Lodge booking or a room ket, you can get a member of Parks staff at the Lake Louise shoreside parking lot to issue your ticket, then take the shuttle connector to Lake Morraine from Lake Louise and back without going to the park and ride on the other side of town to collect a ticket. When we booked there was only Wilson cabin type accomodation available. This is a cosy and quaint wooden cabin. It has basic kitchenette facilities, cereal bars and packets of instant oats. There is no restaurant or breakfast available however there are some basic supplies available from reception. In the evening, you have a 5-10 drive into town for restaurants, although you could walk in mid summer when evenings are lighter. The cabin is quite small. The whole property of rooms, appartments and cobins is set within a very pleasant wooded environment. Staff were very helpful. We only stayed for one night but it was very pleasant. However it was CAD 668, ÂŁ380 for the night which is very high for what you get, that's market forces for you.

Following a very nice stay in 2016 we returned to this lodge for two nights to do some hikes at Lake Louise. We booked the same room type (the Saddleback) and they appeared to have been renovated, making this stay even more pleasant than the first, although prices did go up noticeably.
The suite has two spacious bedrooms separated by the washroom and a wet bar like space with a handy kitchen sink, microwave and coffee maker. It is spacious enough for a family of four.

We have stayed here many times over the years since our children were small. It goes without saying that we love it here.
On this visit we had our two granddaughters, ages 5 and 7 with us. We stayed in a Cooper cabin which is the largest of the three types. It has a kitchenette with stove, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and all the essentials as far as dishes, pots and pans. There is a queen bed and a sofa bed which our granddaughters slept on. There is a table and four chairs. The large bathroom has a big roll top (claw foot) tub and a large corner shower. There is a nice deck at the back of the cabin which overlooks the mountains and valley. The view is gorgeous. The deck has a table with an umbrella and four chairs.
This is a gorgeous property. The grounds and flowers are beautifully maintained. The cabins, built in the 1930s, have been immaculately cared for by the Pedersen family for over 50 years.
The cabins although rustic in nature, are beautiful and charming. Everything in them, from bed linens to bathroom fixtures, is of high quality. They are very clean.
There is a BBQ on the property and you need to book a time slot to use.
Our granddaughters loved the little playground area which also has a large sand box.
The units are stocked with complimentary coffee, tea, granola bars and instant oatmeal packets.
We’ve stayed in most of the places with cabins similar to these around Banff and Lake Louise over the years and none of them compare favourably to Paradise Bungalows. They really are the best.
See you next time!

Loved Paradise Lodge & Bungalows! We stayed in a Fairview Suite in the Lodge. It was perfect! It had a feel of hominess and was very comfortable. The unit was spotless and had all the necessities needed for the bath and kitchen. The views surrounding the property are breathtaking! The property staff were amazing! They were very professional, kind, and helpful. I would recommend this property to anyone. The only notations I would make are about the area. This property is located very close to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. However, in order to visit Lake Louise, private parking is $36.75 and you are not allowed to drive a private car to Moraine Lake. We visited both lakes while staying in Banff, due to the reduced cost of transportation. We took ROAM for $25 total, for two adults, both ways, both lakes. Also, prepare to bring your own food to the Paradise Lodge. There is not a restaurant on site and the restaurants in Lake Louise Village are few and have limited hours. The kitchen in our unit had everything needed to prepare our meals.

Best location when visiting Lake Louise. My husband and I booked our cabin a year in advance, this location sells out fast. It is a 20 minute walk to Lake louise, easy access to meet shuttles at the summer gondola. We stayed in the Wilson one room cabin, it was small and cozy, had all the amenities we needed: keurig coffee maker, kettle, microwave & small refrigerator. The time we spent in the area was quite warm, the cabin had no air conditioning but a fan cooled things off nicely.

Great location, quaint & efficient units. Having a fully functioning kitchen (we cooked every breakfast and dinner there) was nice since the restaurant options in Lake Louise were very limited. We stayed in a Fairview suite in the Lodge and had a great glacier view. Being minutes from Lake Louise was helpful for the early morning we wanted to get there and find parking (achieved at 6:45am with plenty of excess spots available!). We would definitely recommend Paradise Lodge & Bungalows.

Lovely accomodations - we stayed in the Saddleback Suites which have two rooms separated by a kitchenette, clean and well equipped. Great location for all the Lake Louise area attraction and very friendly and accommodating stuff. We liked Lake Louise better then Banff which is much more crowded. Highly recommend !

The Feuz Cabin (325 Sq Ft) is located at the back of the property and is a one room open concept cabin with one queen bed, cast iron gas fireplace, flat screen TV, bathroom with shower, convenience area with refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and deck with mountain views. (2 persons only) This unit does NOT have full kitchen facilities. There is no air conditioning but only one oscillating fan. The clean room was cozy but doable for 2 for short term. The bathroom was almost as large as room. Nicely decorated. We did get cleanup service. Views were basically of trees versus mountains. The front staff was extremely helpful with restaurants and grocery ideas. There is no restaurant on site nor hot breakfast. We had a small SUV so driving ability helped. There was a dedicated parking space beside cabin and no fee to park. Great location within driving distance of Lake Louise and it's amenities. You could stay here and visit Chateau Lake Louise for Afternoon Tea, walk around the lake, and shop inside the Chateau for souvenirs. There are several restaurants within the Fairmont Lake Louise and others cheaper priced in town. If you have no car, you can book the National Park bus to drop you at the Chateau.
