What is Certificate of Excellence?
TripAdvisor gives a Certificate of Excellence to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travellers.
We picked the Post Hotel because it is located near Lake Louise, instead of the busy Banff downtown area. Very happy with the decision, overall. The room rate was expensive but it was worth it. Nothing fancy. Low key. Quiet. Liked the swimming pool. Friendly...More
I had my first visit to the Post this past weekend and it is an amazing hotel with the best staff there is. Too bad there aren't more stars on this rating system because I would give them 10 stars.
We chose the Post as...More
We travelled to Lake Louise in August, 2015 with our 3 teenagers. The first night we were in the end room (loft) on the "train side". On the second night we moved across the hall to the "preferred side", same style room. Both rooms have...More
We went for lunch to our favourite restaurant, the Post. Once again the food and service did not disappoint. I enjoyed their Clubhouse sandwich again. Delicious! It is pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. This restaurant is a must, if you have...More

If you arrive for lunch, or should you desire a drink or tea on the lawn, then The Post Hotel welcomes all they have space for. During busy times I would certainly call to talk to the Maitre D or even guest services. The post knows hospitality and are quite accommodating. No harm in asking. Most of all enjoy true tranquility.

Try to get there befor 8:00am. We were there in July and went twice for the Post Hotel. It takes about 30 minutes. The parking lot fills up early. One day we hiked up to Consolation Lake (challenging but beautiful), the second time we hiked the trail along the lake and rented a canoe. Tour buses come and go (often tourists are there to see the lake, maybe get a coffee and then move on) but you will have to wait for parking a while if you get there late.
