The lodge, consisting on one main building and a number of separate cabins is located at one end of Lake Moraine. It is a short walk to the water and the familiar iconic photos of the lake. We had a room in the main building, and we could see the water from our balcony. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was nice with a spacious shower and body sprays. The only downside was that they kept the room pretty warm, but we just kept the windows open. A buffet breakfast and light lunch of soup and sandwiches was included in our booking. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The one downside was that the lodge is located next to the lake parking lot so it is pretty busy the entire day. There were quite a few people visiting the lake, even at the end of September. There are many hiking trails that start from the lodge, and we hiked in different directions each day. In spite of the crowds, we still greatly enjoyed our four night stay there.

Stayed here for two nights with my husband in a room in the main building. Oh my what an absolutely beautiful place. The surroundings are incredibly breathtaking. Loved the fact the fires were lit in the reception and library area, made it feel supper cosy! Absolutely loved the warm cookies which were served in the afternoon with a lovely cup of tea. All the staff we came across were really friendly. Special mention to Kinga who served us both evenings were ate dinner in the restaurant, which was super delicious. If I had a slight niggle, there is no safe, which we found surprising and the walls are a little thin and being such I light sleeper I was woken a few times by our neighbours. I could hear them switch on their lights and flush their toilets. Also the doors to the rooms cannot be shut quietly. But apart from that an incredible stay.

Room Tip: Book a lodge of funds permit. They looked stunning. Rooms are nice, but walls a bit thin.

This was our first time to Moraine Lake and Moraine Lake Lodge. We stayed Sept. 23-25 in a king cabin. I can’t recommend it enough. The scenery is (obviously) stunning, but the staff are what really take this place to the next level. In particular we found Rebecca at the front desk and Andrew in the dining room to always have a smile and really make us feel welcome. Everyone seems genuinely happy to talk and to help you with whatever you need. The king cabin was just right. Comfy bed, nice sitting area, great fireplace ready to go with everything you need and a nice porch with a view of the lake. We did breakfasts and dinners at the Lodge. Breakfast is an assortment of pastries and toast as well as a choice of two hot items (omelettes, eggs anyway with bacon/sausage hashbrowns and fruit). Dinner is a set menu plus rotating daily specials which is nice when you are there more than one night. Saturday the lake was EXTREMELY busy with people being bussed and shuttled in for the larch hikes. Our room and the guest only parts of the lodge still felt quiet and removed. We did sunrise and sunset/stargazing at the rock pile, as well as a day hike in through Larch Valley and Sentinel Pass. Stunning, but crawling with people. Sunday looked like a much less busy day and in the future we would likely not book to stay on a Saturday. Again, lovely lodge, staff and stay. Definitely recommended.

Be aware of the Australian/new zeland lady working the front desk , asked for some directions and basic questions about the area and her remark *not my problem * and * figure it out *, but it was also 7 am in the morning and she probably didn’t have her coffee yet

What a lovely place to stay especially when visitors leave It is peaceful quiet. Staff go out their way to assist you. Lodges are lovely. It is the extras like breakfast lunch afternoon tea and the canoeing which also makes your stay special. The evening meal was excellent. Just loved our stay here

Situated on the side of Moraine Lake, it consists of a number of chalets on the hillside running up from the lakeshore as well as the main building housing the reception, a number of bedrooms, library come snack area, gift shop and restaurant. We were in a chalet with a decent view down to the lake, the chalet itself being very comfortable. On entering, the well equipped bathroom was to the left with the bedroom area being next as you moved in, this being equipped with a tea and coffee making option. There was also an outside seating area overlooking the lake on the same level. Then there was a step down to the seating area equipped with a sofa, armchair and small table and a lovely fireplace. The whole interior had a real comfy feel to it enhanced further when the fire was lit with all the wood being included as part of the deal. Complimentary breakfast is included, the choice and quality being good while sandwiches and beverages are also complimentary at lunch time in the library area. We ate in the restaurant both nights - reviewed separately - the dining room being pleasant with the staff being friendly and efficient. You are also given the complimentary option of going canoeing on the lake which we did and which we really enjoyed. It should also be noted that there are several walks starting close by ranging from easy to hard so offering a choice to all levels of walkers. The staff, throughout our stay, were very friendly and helpful and really made you feel welcomed. The biggest compliment I can make for the lodge is that if we ever visited the area again, this is where we would stay!

So many lovely details related to decor and comfort I know I won’t do the unit justice. Firewood for the fireplace outside our door, wine glasses alongside the premium coffee maker, fanciful tiles of bear and moose in the bathroom. While many day visitors remained into the evening, the crowds thinned out and made exploring the area more relaxed. At least two bridal parties were there for fabulous photo opportunities. A little taste of luxury in our lives, would definitely stay again.

Absolutely flawless accommodations! So quaint and staff was very personable. The view from our cabin was amazing and we were literally right on the lakefront. Fell asleep to the sound of the fireplace every night. Highly recommend staying here.

We had originally planned a road trip pre covid, and the trip was built around a stay at this amazing lodge. We were not disappointed - everything about our stay exceed expectations, and that’s rare these days. We booked a king cabin which had amazing views over the canoe dock and lake. Really spacious room, and as it was September made use of the fire on returning from dinner each night. A fire by the way that is re-set up for you each day, just for you to light when you are ready. Every member of staff we spoke to was friendly and knowledgeable and just lovely. We took advantage of the residents canoeing and went out on the lake every day, though we warned when the wind gets up it can be choppy. We also did one of the guided hikes with Elliott which was great, learnt a lot about the area, plants, wildlife and climate change in the region. The breakfast included part buffet style and generally two hot options. With a lunch of soup and sandwiches, and afternoon tea and cookies included in the room rate too. We ate dinner at the lodge each night, varied menu with specials each day, food was really good, as was the wine. Worth getting up early to climb the rock pile to watch the sunrise during your stay - and look at the stars too, we saw lots of shooting stars. When we arrived we intended doing trips to Banff and Lake Louise, but did neither. We just enjoyed the tranquility and stunning views and enjoyed the many hikes. Saw a grizzly and her cub, deers, marmots and lots of cheeky ground squirrels! I hope we can return to this truly special place again.

It's not cheap, but it is amazing! The Deluxe cabins are very well-appointed, and are exactly as the website shows. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. They all seemed to enjoy working there too. With free breakfast, canoeing, sandwich & soup lunches and tea and cookies in the afternoon, it felt more like 'home' than a hotel. We did one of Elliott's interpretive hikes one morning, and it was great, and we would recommend it to anyone. Food is lovely. We didn't want to leave!
