We stayed here for 2 nights labour day long weekend in a king bed suite. There were so many little issues that if management cared to address them, would increase their rating and make the stay for guests so much better. First, we booked our room for 2 adults and 2 children, and still had to call down for more towels as only 2 was provided. We also had to call for bedding for the sofa bed as none was provided. It's like they didn't even look at our preferences or booking information to prepare the room accordingly for us. Second, it was just chaotic and unorganized. There was no parking at all when we would return in the evening. No parking in the underground garage and no parking outside. For both nights, we had to go to the front desk at which point, the manager would try and tetris all the excess vehicles into whatever possible spaces she could find. The breakfast area was overcrowded and dirty. Overflowing garbage bins, coffee ran out by 9:30am, then ran out of napkins, forks, etc. Not well prepared at all. What also didn't make sense was the made to order station. What a waste of staff when they are already clearly understaffed. It seemed like an attempt to control the consumption of their protein selection for the day eg. bacon or sausage. On our first morning, the made to order breakfast was bacon and egg croissant breakfast sandwiches. On the 2nd morning, it was an avocado and egg mcmuffin with a side of sausage. They should just have these all premade and out along with the rest of the buffet. Then you wouldn't need someone to staff that made to order station and just have them help out with the rest of the buffet by ensuring that tables are wiped, garbages are emptied, coffee and utensils etc are replenished. Third, for a hotel at pretty much capacity that weekend, they had one working elevator. There wasn't even a sign for the broken one, but you can tell that it was out of service since there was no light. We ended up using the stairs since the wait time for the elevators was ridiculous. Also, it looks like they are trying to update a few things as noted by all the plastering and painters tape. Yet we didn't see anybody working on these issues and overall, it was just an eye sore. Honestly, unless things improve, we would not stay here again.
On the positive side, the room was spacious.

We stayed for 3 nights and we were impressed with the spacious, clean contemporary room that comes with a convenient kitchenete with cutlery and pans. The king bed was comfortable. The complimentary breakfast provided a freshly made and delicious item that changes every morning, such as an avocado and bacon sandwich in one morning and then an egg croissant the next day . The other foods that were served were fresh and met expectations. The convenient location is near the major thoroughfares. It is a good hotel that provides great values for what we paid. However, there are three things that I don't like. (1) The water flow of the washroom faucet was too slow and small. Even with the make-sense principle of water conservation, the water flow was extremely weak and annoying when I tried to brush my teeth or wash my face. (2) Perhaps I was too tired on the night when we arrived. I found it difficult to find the front entrance of the hotel when I drove on site and looked for the hotel entrance. There was a signage only for Four Point Sheraton on the side road, the adjacent hotel, but there was none for Element. Although I actually drove past the entrance twice I somehow missed it. (3) Insufficient parking stalls. Because both the ground-level and underground parkade were shared with Four Point Sheraton the number of parking stalls was limited and were quite full during our stay.

I chose this hotel over the downtown options as it seemed like one of the less boring hotels closer to YYC, or so I thought. I am happy to report that the stay was okay. The studio suite was on the smaller side but functional with a full kitchen. The room was clean in general, but seemed like my suite attendant forgot to take the dishes out of the dishwasher - I could not find any chinaware in the cupboard when I checked in and ended up finding them dripping wet in the dishwasher. Breakfast was decent, especially among the brown bag options I’ve been offered at other hotels, though the staff working the breakfast can be cold/cranky at times, and why only chamomile tea was offered for breakfast was confusing to me. I received an elite drink voucher redeemable at the Four Points which was appreciated. Though, I understand Element is more of a vibrant, lifestyle-y brand, I did not get any of said vibes. That said, considering the room rate, I was content with this stay.

We stayed a total of 5 nights and we were actually sad to have to leave. Our room was beautiful, large, exceptionally clean, and with the kitchen, it perfectly met our needs. Our bed was comfortable, the room was just the right temperature for our comfort, the shower had great water pressure with plenty of hot water, and the towels were large and thirsty. Housekeeping came every single day to refresh our room and empty trash, something we have not experienced since pre-COVID. Such a nice surprise! Breakfast every morning was an elegant buffet with a different made to order entree each day. It would rival the buffet on a Celebrity cruise ship. In fact, we felt as though we were on a cruise. Every staff member we encountered greeted us with a smile and made us feel right at home. Management, you’re doing it right! This hotel is a 10/10.

Absolutely immaculate in cleanliness rooms are spotless, complementary compliments for cocktails, they were very knowledgable about all the sites and attractions near us, which included the zoo. We had an amazing time.:) I would recommend this place, even if it was for a staycation as the rooms are very up-to-date. The staff is beyond friendly. This is one of my favourite hotels.

My husband and I stayed February 24-26 2023, we loved this hotel and would stay again. There is a mini kitchen in the room, with plates, cups and cutlery, very modern looking. We were disappointed in the hot tub as the jets were not working. Most of the staff were friendly. Breakfast was included, food was good. Underground heated parking, but be aware on a weekend is a premium, especially if you get in late. Easy access from Barlow trail, and to Sunridge Mall.

Poor cleanliness in the hotel and in the room (shower drain area was dirty as well as the corners of the bathroom, which shows the level of detail given)
Lots of damage all over the hotel and room, makes it feel cheap and not cared for
Despite calling ahead the day of to ensure dogs bed would be made and having a reservation for 4 people, the sofa bed was not made and there was no bedding in the room. When we arrived we were told we didn’t have a room (even though I had called ahead) and there was no bedding. Once we were supplied with bedding, there were no pillows and had to wait again for that.
‘Blackout’ windows do not black out at all, May as well have left the blinds open.
Noise levels were good and breakfast selection was ok.
The staff were not friendly and didn’t seem very happy to be there.

I appreciate the feedback about our attention to detail from housekeeping and we are using this example to work with our staff on retraining on these points for all of our guests staying in our hotel. All of those details you mentioned should have been taken care of when your room was serviced. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Sincerely, Sanjoy Paul Guest Service Manager

I have been with Marriott loyalty program for a long time and with over 550 nights accommodated in one of their various locations around the globe. First time at an Element hotel, cannot say more about other locations but I do not recommend this one for a Marriott member. It does not feel as a Marriott affiliated hotel, service is poor, staff is untrained, the property has maintenance issues that nobody will fix.
In simple words they do not care about you and your business therefore if you have another alternative then is better to use it. You will be asked to understand that the pandemic is at fault, this is the simple way out recently but it goes only one way because the prices are for a normal service, normal accommodations that you do not get. This is a first hotel where you book a suite that can accommodate 4 people and I am charged $15 / night extra for my daughter, never seen something like that. Although the extra pricing, no towels, no sheets, no pillow and no blankets for the couch. They were delivered at 10:45 pm after visiting and calling the front desk 4 times.
The only positive thing is the breakfast and the ladies that try to have a stocked buffet and a clean and pleasant environment.
For sure I will not visit this location while in Calgary.

We stayed here late June so there was still some Covid restrictions that have probably clouded my opinion and which I'll go into later...

My family and I are eager Marriott users (Gold elite but hoping to hit Platinum this year!) but somehow we'd never stayed at an Element before. We have numerous dietary restrictions so having a kitchen is a huge plus for us and we booked a two queen studio suite with kitchenette.

The hotel lobby, hallways and rooms are very modern and stylish and I quite liked them. We were pleasantly surprised to see a couple of bikes hanging on the wall when we entered and when we enquired we were told they were available to borrow for free. Unfortunately the desk clerk had no idea if there was anywhere around to bike (the hotel is in a sort of industrial/suburban area). It would have nice if they could have provided a map or something...The hotel website mentions a free cocktail reception everyday and we did see a bar with drinks locked away but the clerk didn't mention it and it didn't appear to be happening during our stay, perhaps due to Covid? The hotel is still providing breakfast but it's not serve yourself anymore. They had people taking orders and were offering scrambled or fried eggs to order, toast, hashbrowns, sausages and fresh fruit. The breakfast staff were very friendly and I appreciated real eggs as opposed to the microwaved stuff you usually get at a free hotel breakfast.

My family and I were on the fence on the room itself. It was quite compact but I'd say well designed for its size. The bathroom was the star, it was huge, had a great double headed shower and really nice toiletries. The room was one open space with two queen beds, a desk, couch and a small kitchen area with bar stools for two. There was a full size fridge, two cooking tops and a dishwasher. We were surprised to find that there were no pots or pans, dishes or cutlery in our room. I'm not sure if that's because of Covid or just normal but it was a huge pain to have to go through an order form and request all those things although they were quick about supplying them. There were 4 of us in the room and really not enough room to sit down and actually eat in the suite. That said, I imagine the average traveller never actually uses the kitchen or if they do it's not for 4 so this is probably not an issue for most people. Although the hotel is near the airport, we actually had a view of Downtown Calgary which was pretty cool!

The location is a bland suburban setting although there's lots of shops and restaurants close by and Downtown Calgary was maybe a ten minute drive away so the location worked for us.

The pool and hot tub weren't huge but were nice enough and they were open during our stay (every other property we stayed at still had closed pools due to Covid).

Overall I enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast is great, rooms are updated and average, bed was comfortable, check in staff was good. Price was right.
Biggest con here is being 20 min from the airport and the shuttle running on the hour.
I don’t know about you but I believe if you are running a shuttle the driver should be placing my luggage in the vehicle which we had with the male driver. However there was a woman driver in the morning who just opened the back door and walked away. (I had carryon so it was not heavy) When we arrived at the airport she just stopped the shuttle and sat there. No door opening, nothing. Little disappointing.
