This is our second time at the Element Calgary Airport. The first time - not so great but the price was hard to beat so we decided to give them another try, and we had a great experience this time around! The front desk agent was super nice and welcoming when we checked in. He used my first name often when speaking to me, which added a nice personal touch. The lobby had a water station that was kept filled throughout the day and complimentary cookies at check-in. I most definitely like the new Relax reception which included a complimentary alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage, cheese and crackers in the lobby between 5:30pm and 7pm. What a great way to start my evening. The complimentary breakfast buffet was excellent, with lots of hot and cold items and a few vegan options too. Our two queen studio was very modern, clean and surprisingly spacious! The bed and bedding was very comfortable. I was out like a light until sunrise. It's too bad the curtains weren't the blackout ones. We did encountered two minor hitches though. 1) The hot tub was out of service for most of the afternoon. Even though the front desk said they would get maintenance to look into reopening the hot tub, maintenance didn't pop by during the entire hour we were using the pool in the late afternoon. 2) Parking in the evening was a bit of a nightmare. We returned to the hotel around 8:50pm and the underground parkade was already full with non EVs parked in the stalls designated for EVs. We circled around the parking lot twice before snagging the final vacant spot in front of the Sheraton after I checked with the front desk that it was okay to do so. This limited parking situation is quite unfortunate because there are no other options nearby.

Do not stay if you have little ones expecting to use the pool. Booked out trip via the BONVOY app which did not indicate pool was closed. This was also not disclosed upon checkin. With a toddler, pools are a priority when booking hotels so we had one very sad child with us. According to the AHS report, pool was closed July 19 2023. Clearly not a priority to have it reopen. Would have given more stars if the pool was open but it honestly brought down our entire trip for our daughter.

I am a frequent flyer from Calgary Airport, and I stayed in this hotel several times before. It was one of my preferred Marriott properties that I visited and enjoyed my stays. My last stay was not a pleasant one, I brought up a concern and I feel it was not addressed but on the contrary, everyone tried to make it look as if I am hallucinating or making it up. I spoke with the reception which passed me on to Amrit Kaur (Front Desk Manager) which listened to my concern but failed to get back to me after I reached out to her several times by phone as well as sending her several emails. I also reached out to Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite services and requested them to send the property a follow up email which they did. Finally, I received an email from her dismissing my concern and telling me that she investigated the issue and there is nothing from what I mentioned is there/true, so, I replied back asking her to call me as I did not make this up and I showed her pictures before checking out but unfortunately with no response. I am disappointed in such customer service and especially when it comes from a manager. There were more issues with the hotel, but I only focused on the most important one and thought that the heater/room temperature or closed pool and hot tub comes less important to what I raised which is a safety concern. I am not sure I am willing to give this hotel another chance with what I have seen from such poor customer service.

Breakfast is great, rooms are updated and average, bed was comfortable, check in staff was good. Price was right. Biggest con here is being 20 min from the airport and the shuttle running on the hour. I don’t know about you but I believe if you are running a shuttle the driver should be placing my luggage in the vehicle which we had with the male driver. However there was a woman driver in the morning who just opened the back door and walked away. (I had carryon so it was not heavy) When we arrived at the airport she just stopped the shuttle and sat there. No door opening, nothing. Little disappointing.

It was a great experience staying at this hotel. It was very clean and easy to access. The check-in process was very smooth, and we loved our room on the top floor. The buffet breakfast was so good, and the selection was so great. This is a real breakfast.... Great kudos for that. The parking was underground, and you will need the code to enter from the front desk.

Nice hotel but needs to be more informative. The rooms are nice and your average hotel style. Breakfast is very good and has many options. Only main complaint is we booked shuttle to airport for 7 as early morning flight. Slow to get shuttle to us as they needed to change drivers. This would have been good to know that we would be running late for airport and had to run through to get flight.

Room was cold when I checked in. Was going out for 5 hours so turned up thermostat to 22. Room temp was 19. Returned about midnight. Still cold. Went to front desk to express my concern. They made suggestions. All of which I had tried. Then they suggested if I gave it more time it would warm up. Tired I slept in the room. Still cold in morning. Horrible sleep. Day staff changed rooms right away. Said they would look after me for the bad experience. Fifteen dollars off the room rate. What a joke. This hotel is not old. But pool out of commission for months now and many maintenance issues. Do not recommend.

The hotel needs to have controls for car chargers in the parkade. They should be for charging not parking. The 3 EV charging spaces the hotel has were full with the same cars from just after 3pm until at least 11am the next day when we left. You could see the charge complete green lights the night before (I went back that evening to see if the spaces were free). We could not charge and we picked this hotel specifically for car charging. The hotel needs to have a sign to tell people to move their car when charged and to maybe require guests to sign up for charging time so there are no charger hogs. FYI - Tesla is aware of inconsiderate people and so it charges extra when using up a space when no longer charging. Yes - there is charging etiquette that you should move your car when not charging, but many people don't care - and so to make it a pleasant experience for all guests they should monitor the EV spaces for abuse. Its not hard - in the same way you have to have a parking pass on your car to park you should also need a charging pass and have the guest initial that they cant leave their car parked there all night and there will be a fee if the car is charged and it is still parked there. Most EVs have a way to notify the owner when the car is charged.

This is a pet-friendly hotel. They say 3rd andn7th floor accommodates pets. Me and wife are allergic to pets. My wife started to whez when she came to the room and myself after a few hours of lying on the bed. We knew there were pets on 5 floors where we stayed. The front desk receptionist said otherwise. The pool was closed and they didn't inform us because it was closed by AHS. They said we could go to the next hotel and use the pool. The other hotel pool was small like we were staying in a motel type of environment. Hot pool sauna and dry sauna weren't working.

Awesome customer service provided by the front desk attendants Maro and Diana. As Platinum Elite members an upgraded room is at the discretion of the hotel - and since the room was available Maro and Diane made it happen. (hotel managers - in the US front desk superstars are bonused for 5* reviews! Hotel is clean, comfortable and super quiet. It says "airport" but it's not that close to the airport. Fine for us because we had a rental car. Would definitely stay again.
