This was such a beautiful home away from home. There is so much character in this lovely Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are immaculate and the host Kelly was most gracious. The location is perfect as well. I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast.

We stayed one night and we had a very good time with Kelly the owner: a great dinner, good wine and conversation. Kelly is very welcoming and funny. His home is perfect to have a rest and sparkling clean! We would have loved staying one more night. Thanks again Kelly, it was fun to meet you. Stéphanie & Jérôme

I stayed at Hughes House for the first time in June/July 2019 and will definitely stay again anytime I go to Calgary. Thank you to our host Kelly who was just wonderful and so welcoming! As was the cutest little well-behaved dog! We were treated to wonderful breakfasts during our stay and great conversations. The place is lovely, the room was so comfortable and clean with a private bathroom (actually shower and toilet were in separate areas which is always nice). There's a shared space with a fridge and freezer and all the kitchen stuff you need. And a washer and dryer! So close to downtown. Such a lovely bike ride he took us on on the super bike paths of Calgary. I miss it already and can't wait to go back to explore more of this great city.

Stayed at Hughes House for a few days in late June 2019. Since 2006, this has been the first bed and breakfast I check for availability before any other. Kelly is a wonderful host and the house is very clean and has lots of character. Our room had a king-size bed with a private bathroom. There is a communal area available on the second floor with a washer/dryer. Hughes House is in a convenient location just up the hill from downtown. You're a few steps away from Peter's Drive-in on 16th Avenue, Centre Street, and various bike paths. We were treated to a very delicious breakfast. It always feels like you're coming home. Already planning my next visit.

In the interest of full disclosure we must say that Woytec has been coming here for many years and his visit was more like a kid coming home for a few days. Was great to catch up and meet his amazing girlfriend. And you know it must be a great romance cause they drove all across Canada and back and they're still on good terms. LoL I'm sure no-one could put up with me for that long.LoL Maybe we see you all next year but on the bike trail somewhere in the E.U.?

Our room was really pretty and had a lovely bay window overlooking the back yard. Loved the small guest kitchen/dining area upstairs (microwave, coffee maker, fridge, table/chairs) by the three rental rooms and enjoyed the back sunny deck as well. Most of all we enjoyed Blanco the pet me some more sweet dog and Kelly's piano playing and conversation. It was nice to be in a quiet neighborhood in a big city and can't recommend this place enough.

So nice to read that Kelly and Blanco are still exceeding expectations of visitors from all over the globe. Our visit as their guests for about 21 days some time ago, was without a doubt unforgettable and outstanding . Kelly's enthusiasm, kindness and exceptional hospitality was as every other writer has put, just goes so far beyond any other kind of B&B experience, and we have stayed in B&B's from Vancouver Island to Cape Breton and PEI.. and many places in between. No one makes you feel at home, without the responsibilities of home, like Kelly and his able assistant Blanco. Rest assured your visit with them will have you coming back again in no time....IF you can even convince yourself to leave. R.I.P. never was more true than at Kelly's Hughes House.

We only stayed with Kelly for a night but our friendship last forever. It was a best B&B experience that we have ever had. Delicious breakfast, clean and comfortable room, and Kelly isn't only at great host, he is also helping us in many different ways during the transition of moving to Calgary from Montreal. We appreciate very much his kindness and big heart!! We highly recommend Hughes House to everyone. If you want to learn more about Calgary and what to do or where to eat around the city, Kelly always has a lot of great suggestions. Thanks again Kelly and Blanco!!!

We recently had the great luck to stay several nights at this B&B in Calgary. Kelly, owner and host, is most welcoming and.. it isn't long before a glass of wine is being shared. The house has a vibe of Victorian with many subtle, perfect touches. We got the "4-Poster" room - complete with old-fashioned claw-foot tub. Delicious!! A grand stay in a grand house. Clean, well-cared for.. this is a lovely home away from home.

We have been spoilt over seven wonderful days staying with Kelly. The room was great with modern en suite, the location amazing with a short walk to the city centre. Kelly is a warm and generous host who has found the balance between giving you space to relax while always open to share a glass or two of red wine with great stories and travelling tips. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at the Hughes House. A highlight of our time in Calgary.
