My name is Harry Black. I stopped in at lens Den downstairs at at The Ambassador motel when I arrived at Lens Den I was greeted by a beautiful lady who said her name was Laura and that she had been working at the bar for 10 years and is a manager and would appreciate any type of feedback on her service so that the management how's the hotel will have an idea of her great customer service she was able to cook for us even though the kitchen was closed and would not open until noon hour which would not work for us because we were in a big hurry to get to Banff but Laura said because she's the manager you can go upstairs and do the cooking for us which was beautiful Laura also came and sat at our table and talked about her family and how she bought a new house and that she basically raised her family on her own she said that she's received many awards from customers since working at lens Den and that although sometimes she wanted to quit she couldn't because she's so loyal to her customers whom she has known for many years and just recently she was given an increase in her pay because of her great customer service Laura provided me with her schedule and said that she would make sure that were treated fairly when we come to Lens Den and she's working Thank you Laura 4 the great service you provide it we felt sorry for Laura because she was working all alone and she kept running up and down to the kitchen to do cooking for us and she always asked us to keep an eye out to make sure nobody would go behind the bar and take anyting which we did and she was very grateful for that she said when the owners of the motel go away they let her run the motel because she's so experienced and she has no complaints against her she was hired over 10 years ago by the owners who discovered her add another restaurant and Laura said that she also has a house cleaning service which she does once a week we took her card because she said that she could clean our house for us for $175 for 4 hours worth of work which works for us because we are very busy with our own business which we run a hobby farm so Laura gave us her card and assured us that she would get the job done on a regular basis she also told us that the motel might be for sale but she's not sure yet and I hope it will not sell because I love Laura and her customer service Laura provided my wife and I with a free sambuca and said that she respected that we let her know how important her customer service was the only downfall I had that day was I lost $20 in the VLT machine but and that was my fault because Laura warned me not to play them anyway anyway if you stop at Lens Den make sure you say hi to Laura for us we miss her already and look forward to seeing her again thank you Laura have a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Harry and Sylvia black from Red Deer.

Stayed here in August. Paid cash and they charged my credit card as well. I have emailed, phoned and gone in person to get my money back and still haven't. The staff keep passing the blame around. I would never stay here again. They are thieves

The front clerk charged me $107.00 with a smile? Which seemed extremely high for place that looked very old. The sheets had cigarette holes, the locks were very old, and the room had a distinct odor. Around 4 am in the morning people were knocking on my door asking for cocaine ? Which made me feel very uncomfortable. The website claims to be $69-89 but they charged me $100.00 seems pretty unprofessional if you're really in need of money you could have just asked instead of scamming. Never again!

Travelling across Canada, and had to stop in Calgary to visit friends. The ambassador's website looked fine. In reality, notsomuch. We were looking for pet-friendly and cheap. This was neither. The desk clerk was new to the job, and this was the first time we've ever felt uncomfortable giving our credit card info. He wrote it all down, despite having the machines beside him - an old-school imprint or the handheld machine. Fine - we'd check with mastercard and ensure no unusual activity. In his defense - nothing bad happened to our card. The parking lot - not less than 5 cars at the entrance, on flat tires or uninsured - or both. The restaurant wasn't open and didn't look like it had been in a while, despite claims that it was recently closed. The pub had all the charm of a strip club in a ghost town. Throughout our entire trip, this was the only time we felt unsafe, and we're not your typical touristy-kinda travellers. The rooms - well, calling them disgusting would have been too kind. They reeked of cigarette smoke, as these were deemed their 'pet-friendly' rooms. Every surface in the room was scarred with cigarette burns - you know the kind, where someone has left the smoke lit and put it down for it to burn itself out. Carpets were filthy, walls had stuff growing on them, and the beds...well, luckily we had sleeping bags. The toilet - that was fantastic - it had a lid that didn't match the tank. I don't mean in colour - the lid didn't fit the tank itself. I wish I'd taken pictures, but... There is wifi - but you have to call the desk to get the password. Probably best not to check your banking info while connected here... Easily the worst hotel we've ever stayed in. Would not recommend to anyone.

I was driving thru town looking to rest my tired eyes (2:30am).... the Ambassador seemed perfect, just off the #1 hwy...it was a hassle free late night check in...the front desk women was great so helpfull (Babette)...the hotel's not fancy but PRICES ARE GOOD rooms are clean, and beds comfortable..... if ur not looking for all the frills (mints on pillows) this is a nice quiet place to get some rest.... I didn't get a chance to eat or have a drink... but they do have a restaurant and bar on.site.... great water pressure in the showers... I have no issues recommending the Ambassador

Driving into Calgary without a sense of direction (first time visit), we decided to give the Ambassador a try. We negotiated for 3 nights. Reading the negative reviews, I am surprised; our experience was quite the opposite! The room was large and clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful and all of our appliances were new (TV with good cable, microwave, fridge and A/C unit)! The exterior is very "Early '60s Worlds Fair-Space Age" but, don't judge a book by its cover. Also, our stay was quiet. We will stay here again... Convenient to the downtown core. Thanks for a great stay!
