Great Location Right down by the River, nice walking around Princess Park Great Staff Everyone was so friendly and helpful Great Food Restaurant had options for Celiac which we required. Perfect for Families WaterSlide and Pool were a nice bonus, Pool was warm so that’s always nice, Hot Tub was Nice and Hot. Only issue was showers were ice cold, but did inform staff to look into.
We had the most amazing stay in late July. We booked a stay as our first stay before our birthday trip to Banff to explore Calgary. We used points the redeem for a night. Upon some email exchanges prior to the stay, I was given the option to pay to upgrade to club level which offers lounge access with breakfast and evening refreshments. Pam Doulson and Ava at the front desk are very sweet and kind. After learning it is for a birthday celebration, they kindly sent up a surprise birthday treat along with a nice upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite which is perfect for our party with 3 adults and 1 kid. The room is spotless and roomy with 2 washrooms and 3 tvs. Instead of exploring the city, we ended up just enjoying the hotel and spending time at the pool with the most amazing water slide according to the kids! The quality of the breakfast is fantastic and the club has a beautiful patio for pictures and relaxation. In conclusion, it is the best stay we had in recent years. So good that we are coming back again before leaving Calgary. Thank you Pam and Ava for making the stay so special and enjoyable for our 3 generations. We have stayed in higher end hotel like Shangrila/Fairmont in recent years but I would say I got the most responsive and friendly service here. I’d rather stay here than there. P.S. - the only think you should watch out for (if u have kids) is the glass door… my son was so excited that he ran into the glass and had a bump on his forehead…. I guess it shows how spotlessly clean the hotel is! 🤣…
Nice hotel in very good place - close to offices area but as well close to great place for a walk. Very friendly staff. Room clean and very comfortable. Restaurant in the hotel - very tasty and with great staff. Breakfast very good but paid separately. My choice for trips to Calgary.
Great place to stay. I stayed for 3 nights during the week. The valet team were nice, professional and prompt. The front desk staff were great as well. Allan and Allyson are top notch (chef's kiss, as the kids say). The breakfast options for club level rooms were pretty good, I felt the value was there. The club lounge also has a nice rooftop patio that is perfect for working from. The staff make this hotel. I felt their attentiveness was on par with higher level hotels. The room was nice, well appointed and coming from the east, I appreciated the humidifier already in the room!
Wasn't really impressed with the lady at check-in; not very friendly, handed me key cards, that was it, no information regarding parking, location of elevators, amenities, etc. I felt like I was interrupting her. The man that checked us out was great, valet was excellent ($44/day). The 1-bedroom suite had everything you needed; very comfortable bed, nice view, but somewhat small. The pool & hot tub were clean & enjoyable. Location was perfect. I would recommend staying here.
We stayed at the Sheraton mid week during the Stampede. Reception and staff were fast and friendly. They gave my kids bags of mini donuts that they loved. Room was as-expected. Beds were somewhat soft but very comfortable. The pool was perfect size for kids: a bug slide and no deep end. Lots of dining options within walking distance. Also a 10 minute walk to the island and the drop-off location for Lazy Day Raft rentals (which was also great!). I would definitely stay here with my family again.
Such a great option to stay here before and after our Banff trip. A very clean hotel and from the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with smiles. Our group would like to give a special thank you to the bellman (and apologies for not catching his name! We’re kicking ourselves.) we think it’s Ryan. He works 3-11:) But he was great! And gave us so many recommendations for our spontaneous Banff trip. We returned the day before flying back to America and coming in, he was there to welcome us back and ask how our trip was. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfy and the front desk staff was accommodating in switching us to a double at check in.
This hotel is near everything downtown but just off the main roads so that there's some quiet to it as well. The shower had excellent pressure. The housekeeping service was attentive and reliable. The rooms were super clean. The front desk was efficient on check in. Great experience. Loved the pool although it is shallow.
Stayed here for 10 days, it was good experience, and everything went as expected. No staff would even bother you unless you are asking something from them, they would greet you with a smile from afar. The only interaction I have was during check in, check out and alternative house cleaning only. That’s aside, what traumatized me is the billing experience with them. The booking was made under corporate credit card by my company’s provider. Many of my colleagues prefer here due to its location. But somehow, this happen to me, where the hotel charged the bill into my personal (overseas) credit card, the reason been they couldn’t get hold of my company’s provider for payment. So, they come after me for it without any notification, despite that they said my personal credit card was merely for authorization and other hotel services not included in the corporate booking. Here is the nightmare, when realizing this and upon communication by my provider with the hotel, the hotel charges the correct payment mode and refunded the money to me. But due to overseas credit card and foreign currency exchange rate, there is deficit of USD30 that I need to top up. Fine, it might be small amount to the hotel, but still, it is money. So, my provider is helping to seek further refund from the hotel. The funny thing, the hotel refunded again FULL AMOUNT of my stay to me, then charged my personal credit card the same amount again. So in out in out, there is deficit of approximately USD120 that I need to pay myself. For the hotel, the amount is still the same in Canadian dollar, nothing lost at their end of course right. This is still unresolved, and I hope my experience can serve as a warning or alert to others.…
Stayed in a 1 Bedroom Corner suite for 5 nights. The hotel is super clean. The Pool is perfect for the kids with decent slide - heads up, it is super fast for adults. Spotless clean. Check in for Marriott Gold was awesome and Ava helped us promptly with an early and late check out. Special thanks to the Valet crew. Very nice helpful folks. We had room service twice and it was horrible both times. I dont understand why as the restaurant is actually delightful. Joeys across the street is great. Avoid the Local Eatery. The trail to the Island was perfect for the kids and the location is within 10-15 mins of all major attractions in Calgary. On site parking is a rip off, but still highly recommend the hotel.
