Room was clean and comfortable, awesome bed and pillows! I like that the rooms have hard floors rather than carpets because it feels much cleaner. The complimentary breakfast buffet was great (scrambled eggs, cereal, coffee, juice, tea, bacon or sausage, real potato hashbrowns, yogurt and granola, fresh fruit, etc.). We paid $117 including tax for one night in May 2024 and felt that we got excellent value for this price. Overall 5-star rating for a 3-star hotel (met or exceeded all expectations), room was very clean but some common areas (e.g., elevator buttons) could use a deeper clean, but that did not affect our stay.

The room is big, clean and comfortable. It comes with a king size bed and a large screen TV. The price of room includes not bad breakfast. We asked hot water from kitchen twice times, the restaurant staffs are really helpful. We had a great staying experience here.

I had a reservation from August 31 to September 1, I booked it last August 29 and received a confirmation email.
I was expecting we would have a good night after we travelled from Saskatoon, I even called them to say that we would have late check-in as we were behind our schedule. Still, one guy responded that it was okay and that we could check in anytime because the hotel is 24/7. We arrived at the hotel at 11 pm very tired they told us our reservation got cancelled because my credit card didn't go through but we never received any text or email that it bounced and our rooms were cancelled. All hotels in Calgary are already sold out, how will we manage to find a room at 11 pm, we are forced to sleep in the car. Vacation is ruined because of it.

We really liked the hotel's design and style. Common areas and rooms were extremely clean, and the rooms were incredibly quiet. I appreciated the overlapped rods and blackout drapes - absolutely no external light entered the room when the drapes were closed.
A/C was great, and all of the fixtures and appliances worked as they should (microwave, mini-fridge, Keurig coffee maker).
Major irritant: rooms are cleaned between guests, but only done every 3rd day otherwise.
However, there's nothing on the hotel website or anywhere in the room to alert guests. And the front desk agent 'forgot' to tell us about the reduced cleaning.
I understand the business reasoning behind that practice, but I like having a room cleaned daily and likely would have chosen a different hotel if I'd known that the room wouldn't be serviced during my stay.

This hotel should set the standard for what 'full breakfast', 'pet-friendly', clean and gracious accommodations should be. We travel with our dog. We not only try to find an accommodation that 'accepts' pets, but provides a suitable environment for them. Dogs who travel need green space to be walked and to do their business. I can't tell you how many times I have driven up to the hotel and the only place for my dog to walk or do her business is the narrow boulevard between the parking lot and the highway. While this is sufficient, it really isn't accommodating, in my opinion. This hotel is surrounded by green boulevards created by the hotel and encourages patrons with dogs to use some of the most accessible spaces out of the way of traffic when they check in. Also when you check in, you receive a little gift package - a doggy bag for your pooch that includes treats, a poop bag and a warmly worded letter to your pet laying out the rules of good behaviour while a guest there.
Breakfast is something every guest wants to know about. Although every hotel seems to offer some kind of 'full breakfast', this one should set the standard. There is a full buffet of breakfast foods easily accessible to the guests in the middle of the spacious dining room with staff replenishing and servicing it regularly, keeping the trays full (so no one gets all the bacon!). The food is quality food and the service is excellent. Someone even came by to ask how we were doing and if we needed anything.

Husband stayed in calgary due to a death in the family.he booked in first his key card didn't work has to go back down to get it fixed. They do so family arrangement my husband needed to use the phone in the room and was unable to call out long distances so the hotel staff told he he could you the front desk which he wasn't in a state to let everybody hear his business. So each time he had to use the front desk because the phoned didn't work know body even checked to see if the phone was work or to fix it. Then are sister in-law who just list her husband phoned and told the front desk she needs to get a hold of my husband was unable to infact they were so rude to her over the phone then myself I phone my husband first they connected me to the wrong room then I phoned back they hung up on me and the third time calling long distance I got threw. Oh and the best part they call my sister in to apologize to CNN rail which she isn't with CNN rail

The location is great if you are coming from the North or using the Airport. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable with a small sitting area and foot stool. The bathroom is bright and cheery and the bed is very comfortable with great pillows. I love the breakfast choices of hot or cold items and the morning staff are warm and welcoming and attentive to your needs.

Room was dirty upon arrival when pay $300-$400 a night you expect much more. Food was terrible to taste rubbery just disgusting. Server at breakfast took a boiled egg that someone did not eat and place it back in the warmer. I was just disgusted. Other servers were friendly but didn’t care much if you made a complaint.

Why wouldn't you just call them and ask?

Thank you for considering the Executive Royal Hotel Calgary. We do not offer tour packages to Banff, however there are a couple of operators right at the airport. Discover Banff Tours is one that comes to mind. They will take you from the airport to Banff. We have a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport so you could still stay with us and take the shuttle to the airport for your tour to Banff. Thank you for considering the Executive Royal Hotel. Airport shuttle service is complimentary for hotel guests who book through Expedia as well. Once you land and have your bags, we ask that you call our front desk to send the shuttle for you. There are two pick up zones at the airport, one for domestic travel and one for international travel. The airport limits the amount of time we can spend in the pick-up locations which is why we ask for guests to call the hotel. The toll free number direct to the hotel is 1-877-769-2562 or one of the customer service desks at the airport would be able to call for you.

It is free and a quick call to the hotel from the airport upon return will advise you when and where to board the shuttle. We stayed and used the service between Christmas and New Years; a period when their shuttle was not running so they simply provided a PRE-PAID taxi for us. Great service and a great place to stay.
