We live 90 miles NE in Drumheller and just spent a WONDERFUL weekend at the Fairmont Palliser Calgary! Trying to do a few memorable weekends away with our daughter who will be off to University in the fall and THIS. WAS. IT! ! If you are thinking of a special weekend...just do it! From connected parkade...to front desk Ben's check-in...to a lovely upgraded room...Marlon's tidy touch...the comfy beds and fresh linens...the marble bathroom...the shower soaps...the NESPRESSO machine (and real coffee cream...who does that!) the view...delicious breakfast...the live music in the Hawthorn room...the sheer GRANDEUR of this glorious hotel...the list goes on and on and on! We LOVED staying at this hotel and we will be back! We had so much fun on Saturday discovering downtown shopping, and later, walked the inside corridor to reservation dinner at the Calgary Tower Sky 360 and after every outing, SO enjoyed our lovely room #412. In the evening...live music...Rondel Roberts Band...fantastic! So many special moments...we came home Sunday afternoon, thankful, refreshed and blessed! …
My daughter and I just enjoyed a quick 2-day getaway at the Palliser this weekend and all I can say is WOW. For two seconds of backstory, my husband and I are expecting our 4th baby in March (yes, you read that right) and so before I’m once again up to my eyeballs in diapers and milk cloths, my 8-year-old and I thought it would be fun to have one last fancy hurrah somewhere close to home. From the moment we walked into the hotel we knew we were somewhere special. The ambiance, the décor… all beautifully ornate yet still very comforting. What really impressed me the most was the unforgeable service we received throughout our stay, especially on the Gold Floor. Simply put, we were treated like family. Karandeep in reception and Kathy in the Gold Lounge were two of the most welcoming and accommodating individuals that I have ever met in the service industry. A sincere thanks to both of you for making our stay unforgettable. I also wanted to thank Neha (the Fairmont Gold supervisor) for upgrading us to such an extraordinary room. The Heritage Suite is truly a room fit for a king or queen… and by some miracle we got to stay in there as well. If you haven’t seen pictures online, I implore you to look them up… because no words can truly do it justice. I suppose the only downside to all of this is that after staying is such an amazing suite, everything else now looks second best. Thanks for ruining us!! But moreso, thank you all so much for such a memorable weekend – till next time!…
We had a quick overnight stay en route to Banff. We arrived around 11 pm and found no bell staff around to help us lug our bags up the hotel’s entrance stairs. Our Fairmont Gold one bedroom suite exceeded expectations: tons of space, fresh and clean decor, a heated bathroom floor, quality bedding, and excellent toiletries. The Fairmont Gold lounge was beautiful and well-stocked for breakfast and daytime snacks, plus great views. Grateful that the hotel accommodated our request for a 2 pm checkout. I think we would have found even more to enjoy about the hotel had we stayed longer.
Really good hotel enjoyed the pool. If your looking for a perfect getaway then this is the place to go to. Very friendly people. & highly recommended. Great restaurant as well. Lovely hotel 🏨.👍. Best hotel I’ve ever been too very impressed with it.
We had a great stay at the Palliser, even short notice the staff were able to get a nice room. the ambiance was very updated and yet traditional as well. the only comment I would make is the room temperature took some time to warm up, but we still enjoyed a great stay.
It was very expensive, but the room was small. The room with well-equipped and the beds were comfortable. It was quiet however, I had no view and room service was very expensive and the food was basic and not worth it. There were not enough options for a vegan. The ice machine was broken on the floor I was on. Front desk staff are nice; however, more than once I requested to not have any feathers in the room, and when I got there their pillows had feathers. The gym pool area was well equipped and clean. Valet parking is so expensive don’t do it.
We spent 3 nights at the Palliser over a weekend late February. The renovations in the lobby that date to a few years ago, continue to look fresh and with the times. Hawthorne is a beautiful room with one of the cosiest fireplaces. Sarah is a staple at the bar and makes a mad cocktail with a smile on her face. We were staying on the Gold Floor and had been upgraded from the original room category. The room was beautiful, large, and perfect for a longer stay with enough space for our clothes and kugga and to feel comfortable. The Gold Floor team was more than welcoming and always very serviable. The Gold Floor is an ideal space to spend some time playing cards, getting some work done, and just have a cocktail. The pool is also a fun diversion. The Palliser is undoubtedly the best hotel in Calgary!…
Awesome staff starting with the valet crew as they helped with bags to the fully attentive and amazing staff on the Fairmont Golf floor. Neha, Oksana, Cecilia, Corrinne and Jill were so kind and made our stay feel special and enjoyable. Great hotel, exceptional staff.
From the moment you walk through the door………the feeling is no where near the same as The Fairmont Empress in Victoria. The entrance is very dark to start off your experience, it was January but it was also dusty and dirty…….my initial impression. Staff were not particularly friendly at check in and she also forgot to tell us to operate the elevator you needed to use your room card on the electronic pad. Our room was a decent size……. We ate dinner in the dining room nothing to make it very memorable and we noticed the waiter was rushed off his feet and wore jeans…….we found this odd for a Fairmont. When settling down for bed we like our room cool so moved the thermostat accordingly. What a joke that is………you do not control the heat/cool in your own room…….period! During the night the heat was obviously turned up by the hotel staff and it was so hot it woke us both up. This was just a stay over on our way to Banff but it was booked for our return a week later. Our second stay was no better and this time we informed them at the front desk when we left and their response was to remove our valet parking from our bill. Not good enough……they have an issue with staff and the heat/cool. Very disappointed.…
Trent at the front desk was super professional and accomodating. He had a complimentary dessert delivered to our beautiful room. Perfectly located downtown close to various pubs, bars and nightlife, my wife and I explored the hotel and area. We will most definately be back. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
