I've stayed at the HI Calgary City Centre twice while attending conferences downtown, and it has been adequate both times. The hostel has a convenient location near the downtown, and best of all free parking. The dorms are standard with twin bunks and wooden cupboards to store your luggage (bring your padlock), but only one electrical outlet. Bathrooms are standard,...

I understand this place was damanged during the great flood a couple years ago, so the main floor and basement were completely redone, and it looks great! The main floor has a large kitchen and dining area with floor-to-ceiling windows, where I enjoyed the view towards downtown (while "enjoying" No Name Mac & Cheese :( ) The basement has probably...

I have never stayed at a hostel before and was pleasantly surprised. This place is very clean and the private room I had was comfortable, inexpensive and the staff were so polite and helpful. I recommend for the budget minded traveller that wants to be in the heart of it all

HI Calgary is the place we go when we head to the city for a night out. Its not far from all the action (including the Ice Hockey Stadium) but is in a quiet are of the city. The staff are lovely and the rooms and amenities are perfect for what we need.

Arrived and checked in with not a problem. Stayed in a dorm room with 6 beds but only 2 others in my dorm. The bed was comfortable but the doona could be a little better especially in the colder months. The facility is clean, bright and nicely laid out, the kitchen area is awesome. As for location, for me it's...

First time hostel experience, fell in love with it! The housing was very dorm like. bunk beds, closets with lock holes (bring your own locks!) and communal bathroom (that were very well kept!) We stayed there for three nights I believe and each night the hostel had activities in their common area for us to make friends. Everyone there was...

Close to the Calgary Saddledome. Great location. Great dorm style beds. But try to get a bottom bunk. The ones up top can get very hot. Excellent prices. It is close to downtown. It is within walking distance of the Bow River. There is a wonderful Phil & Sebastian Tea close by.

Fantastic hostel, at a great price. The breakfast in the morning is great with various breads etc. The rooms are all kept clean, and the common areas are very well appointed with various activities going on each evening.

Such a great hostel. Clean, quiet and perfect location. Right beside the C train - free train into town. Also can walk almost anywhere anyway! The free breakfast is great - pancakes, juice, bread, cereals. The staff are very kind and informative.
