Detailed Reviews
We enjoyed our visit and used Inglewood B & B as our base. The owners Helmut (from Austria) and Valinda made us very welcome and also accommodated our dietary requirements. The area is delightful with the icy blue Bow River racing by. The paths and cycleway make it easy to get to the City Centre. As reviewed by previous guests we found everything we needed both in the B & B and nearby on Inglewood high street. We will certainly be back at sometime in the future. Mel and Linda.

Great spot for Stampede visitors. We were able to walk to Stampede Park each day after a great breakfast, and then wander home exhausted for a quiet night’s kip. Valinda and Helmut were very welcoming and has lots of tips, especially about the local neighbourhood. Highly recommend.

My daughter and I had the pleasure of staying for 5 nights earlier this month. We were made to feel very welcome and our room was lovely and comfortable. The B & B is in a great location, walking distance to almost everything. The breakfasts each morning were delicious. Highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Calgary. Thank you Valinda & Helmut for a wonderful stay! Samantha & Kristen

Called to say my flight was delayed and I would arrive an hour later that evening ( around eight). they had my email and phone and cell numbers and did not call to indicate a problem. When I arrived from the airport by cab , there was a note on the door sayding they had other plans, sorry it didn't work out.
Not sure they really care about the business -- just offsetting some costs on a house they built, when its convienent.
I had stayed here before. it is no frills, but close to our Calgary office which appealed to me until this event.

If you are visiting Calgary this is the place to stay. It is close to downtown, Fort Calgary, the Zoo and Stampede grounds. And yet in a quiet neighborhood. The hostess Valinda was super. She pointed out places to eat and other bits of information. As Helmut was away we of course did not meet him. The rooms are excellent and breakfasts great with a nice variety offered on the
menu. I along with 2 sisters stayed here near the end of October when all of Mother nature was in
her glory. The walk behind the house along the river was truly peaceful. We parked our cars when we arrived and didn't have to move them until we checked out. We certainly would stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Inglewood B&B. Valinda and Helmut were great hosts and breakfast was a delight. Our room was clean and comfy. We were a short walk to the shops and restaurants in Inglewood, right next to the Bow River Trail along the river, and within walking distance to downtown. Great price also!

A very well situated purpose-built B&B, with excellent rooms and two very hospitable, welcoming and informative hosts, Valinda and Helmut. Valinda's breakfasts were both healthy and delicious, and Helmut was a mine of first-class local information. He also had made many impressive items of furniture!
When the time came for us sadly to leave Calgary, Helmut insisted on driving us to the Cruise Canada location near the airport to meet our friends and head off in our RVs.
Highly recommended.

Located in an old neighborhood of Calgary next to the Bow River and paved walking trails, this B&B is a model of what such lodging should be. Helmut and Valinda are as friendly and helpful as everyone has described. The breakfast menu is a changing one every day with three items to choose from but with lots of variety and creativity. Rooms are large and very comfortable with our hosts eager to please on any thing extra needed. Shoes are removed at the front door in the old European tradition. Free wifi is offered in the rooms if you have your own laptop computer or downstairs on theirs in the dining area. Driveway parking is available and there's ample street parking as well. The location is great for walking to such sights as the Stampede grounds (perhaps 2 km. distance and a 20-minute walk along easy footpaths) and the downtown is a straight walk along nearby 9th Ave. (perhaps 2.5 or 3 km in 30 minutes). The Glenbow Museum and 200-meter high Tower are on the same 9th Ave. as is the parallel pedestrian-only shopping zone of Stephen Ave. which also has numerous restaurants. But not to be outdone in that department is an excellent pub called the Hose and Hound (an old converted firehouse) just around the corner from the B&B that offers an interesting, eclectic menu of very good quality. Certainly a great "center of operations" for those wanting to attend the July Stampede rodeo and other activities on the grounds as parking around and at that facility is limited and, as one would expect, congested during Stampede dates.

I found the owners of this B&B rude and unhelpful. A few moments after calling to book, it was clear that this couple did not want our booking and so lied about being full. To top it off, when I kindly accepted that they were full and asked for other recommendations for B&B's or hotels, I was told all the other B&B's she knew were booked. Having close friends in the Inglewood area of Calgary, it is a shame we will not give this B&B our business whenever we come a few times a year. We have many friends and family in Edmonton and Calgary and so it is unfortunate for Inglewood that I will refer all friends and family in these areas to other B&B's.

Over the years I have stayed in many B&B's across the world but rarely have I come across two hosts as friendly and welcoming as Valinda & Helmut (always nice to meet a fellow Austrian on one's travels). Tasty breakfasts, lovely and clean rooms in a very nice and quiet neighbourhood just along the river, I felt right at home and was sorry that I had to trade my comfy bed for an air mattress & tent when I left to continue my tour around Alberta. To join my hiking group I had to re-locate to a hotel in downtown Calgary, Helmut was so kind and even drove me into town and dropped me off at the hotel. It was much appreciated!!
Did I mention this lovely B&B is just a stone throw away from the Stampeded grounds?! Easy walking distance and felt save as a single female traveller walking back from the Stampede at night.

Hi 2 girls from Saskatoon.
Thank-you for being interested in our B&B. Yes, we have these 3 nights available @ $130.00 plus 5% tax per night. Each room has 1 queen size, if you like to share, private bathroom in the room plus full breakfast. We also ask guests to remove outdoor shoes in the house and have cats would this be a problem? One block away from the B&B, are alot of 1 of kind shops, so bring extra pennys.
Cheers Valinda and Helmut.
