We went to this hotel on July 24th 2024 for a week. We had a long trip from Helsinki, Finland, so we wanted to make sure the hotel will be great for us. We were doing a lot of research before booking this location. After our stay it was well worth it. The hotel is in excellent location, all the major tourist attractions are nearby and if you want to do some daytrips to Banff and Lake Louise, the bus stops in downtown are close enough.
There's a restaurant called Native Tongues Taqueria right downstairs of the hotel - some of the best food we've ever eaten. It was really convenient after walking 24km all around downtown and being exhausted after the day.
The hotel staff was amazing throughout our whole stay, the room was very clean when we arrived and the bed was also very comfortable. Could't have asked for a better view out of the window, as we saw Calgary tower and its beautiful lightshow in the evenings. The ac was working well and the room was nice and chilled. You could choose your own temperature from the thermostat.
Hotel breakfast was good. After a longer stay maybe a few more options would have been nice. Coffee (and tea) was available throughout the whole day which, for a big coffee drinker, was an added bonus. At no additional cost.
We enjoyed this place so much, that if (and when) we visit Calgary again, we're going to book this hotel as we know the location is awesome and everything works. No stress anymore for going through different options.
Unfortunately we did see a lot of homeless people around the hotel and nearby Memorial park. We learned from local people that this is an issue in Calgary at the moment. So not only nearby this location. The homeless people did not bother us at all though and did not cause any trouble for us. Wish we could have helped them out a bit more.
From YYC Calgary international airport the taxi trip to this location took no more than 30 minutes and cost around 50 CAD.
I would definitely recommend choosing this hotel.

The room was on the small side but perfectly adequate. There wasn't a kettle in the room (but there was a coffee maker) but it did have a fridge and microwave. Tea and coffee were available 24 hours a day by reception. Breakfast was included - more than enough choice and the trays of food were replaced regularly. There are coin operated laundry facilities on site which we used a couple of times. The location is fine although you need to be aware of your surroundings at night. We were happy to walk around the corner to a number of restaurants and the Beltliner diner next door if you needed something during the day was excellent. Housekeeping is offered on an every other day basis (we did ask for daily housekeeping which didn't always happen). Would certainly use the Fairfield Inn brand again.

Check in was efficient. My room was ready early, a nice bonus. The room was of ample size. The bed was comfortable, the a/c unit strong. There was a coffee machine. The toiletries consisted of soap for the sink and squeeze bottles for the shower. It was not too hard to get to the hotel driving. The hotel is on a one way street. The valet parking costs $30 a day, in my view a bit high when most people are probably driving. The hotel is well situated for touring. There was a microwave, an ironing board and a hair dryer. Never tried the tv. I had to go down to the reception area to get on wifi. The reception is on the second floor. One of two elevators was not working when I checked in but fortunately my room was just on the fourth floor to lug the suitcase. Breakfast starts at 0630, a good time for me. It was typical fare re hot items [scrambled eggs, turkey sausages and bacon]. All in all, a few issues but still a pretty decent stay, probably on the lower end for downtown Calgary hotels.

This is a gem in downtown Calgary. The king room was modern, well-appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The spotless, spacious bathroom had a large walk-in shower, which I prefer over a shower/tub combination. The tenth floor room also had a fabulous view of the Calgary tower with its mesmerizing, ever-changing nighttime colours. Breakfast was included and did not disappoint. There was a good variety of hot and cold items, and very good coffee! The breakfast room was large, with many nooks and crannies which lessened the noise often found in hotel breakfast rooms. I had an excellent AAA sale rate. The only downside is the $30 nightly parking charge, but that comes with being downtown. I’ll return when I’m back in Calgary.

We stayed here for two nights to visit Banff and explore Calgary. The hotel is in a fantastic location surrounded by so many great restaurants. Our titiatnium status was recognized at check in. Just wish water bottles were provided instead of lemon water on tap in the hallways.

My wife and I are in Calgary to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. From the moment I stepped out of the car I was greeted by a smiling valet who welcomed us and took our cases straight to our room whilst we checked in.
I have to mention TOMMY who took care of every request we made and exceeded our expectations in every sense with the room allocation. He also helped us plan our sightseeing and ensured everything met our needs during our stay.
The included breakfast was also of a very high standard, set in a lovely area on the second floor overlooking the city and the lovely memorial gardens - very relaxing start to the day!
Please take a moment to check out our amazing view from the room - being Brits we appreciated the union flag on the buildings in honour of our queen - thank you Calgary.

We stayed for two nights at the hotel in September. Great location close to downtown. The real standout was the simply outstanding customer service - especially by the general manager Anthony. He went above and beyond to find gluten free bread when the bagged breakfast didn’t meet my dietary needs. He was also seen constantly walking through the hotel cleaning surfaces and being sure customers are comfortable. Outstanding service!

This is a nice place rooms are clean staff is very friendly and it has a great location.
Located in downtown Calgary it’s very close to restaurants shops and pretty much anything you need. There is an amazing Taqueria next to it which was really good.
I did not try the restaurant that was attached to the hotel because they close Early.
The hotel offers a complementary breakfast every morning which was actually a nicer spread than what I’ve seen in other places. I highly recommend this location for accommodations. We spent the night here before moving up to Lake Louise and we will be spending another night here when we come back before we head home.
I highly recommend this location if you’re in the Calgary area he will not be disappointed.

The location of the hotel is perfect, it’s easy to walk to the river, Stephen Ave and there’s great places to eat around the corner on 1st St. Our room was large, clean and quiet and we were able to check in early. Breakfast has all you need, hot food, cereals, oatmeal, bread, bagels and pastries. I would stay here again.

Our reservation confirmation stated there would be a double sofa bed to sit on in our room, but when we asked the front desk, we were advised there were no rooms left with a sofa bed. We had to sit on the king bed to relax. The mandatory $31.50 "valet"parking fee is too high. The WIFI signal is very weak in our room. The shelf above the microwave has not been dusted for weeks and there was garbage on the same shelf. Will not recommend or return.

I always use the hotel parking as the cost is the same as a private lot.
There are lots of Green Lime bikes in the neighbourhood. The hotel used to have bikes available too and I think they still do have bikes for loan to registered guests.
There is a bike lane on each side of the hotel which leads to hundreds of kilometers of bike paths.
Check the weather well in advance for biking suitability.
I think they were individual boxes, but couldn’t say 100%. Sorry!
