The night before competition started most of our teams had to pack up all our kids and go to different hotels due to cockroaches in multiple rooms and in the stairwell! Staff try to say only one person had an issue but most of the teams left. Stay away!!
This hotel is very convenient to Kingsway Mall area and a short drive to city center. Great location with free parking. First impression of reception area is of a luxury hotel, however upon further experience it is showing it’s age. It is in need of some TLC- The elevator floor had duct tape holding the flooring down, paint chipping in the room bathroom and wallpaper was peeling off. We found the beds quite comfortable which is a huge plus and way more important then perfect paint. Average size room. There is no complimentary breakfast but a restaurant on site (we did not use). Interactions with staff were satisfactory. Unfortunately, our first nights sleep involved some loud discussions occurring in the hall outside our door. Interrupted my sleep at 3am and continued for about an hour. Then about the time the talking stopped someone knocked on our door, but then left. I did question my decision to stay here, thankfully second night was better, so likely not a regular occurrence. I would stay here again for a similar type of trip.…
Extremely surprised with the quality of everything from the front desk to the cleaning staff. The rooms are nice and clean. The restaurant has great daily specials & the home made apple pie is the best I've had . It's also nice and close to the downtown
This hotel was horrible. Not clean (during COVID), TV didn’t work, Coffee maker shorted out the power cord it was attached to. We were in the detached building and the whole building smelled like smoke. Stay somewhere else.
Now, this is a hotel where you can be at ease and relax without pretentious expectations from other guests or staff. Kindness and courtesy, genuine concern and thoughtfulness were extended to us. The elaborate open lobby was a bit unwelcoming as the ceiling towered above and the friendly faces at the desk were barely visible from the entryway. The entry mat was worn, maybe from wheelchairs and walking sticks as we realized that many occupants were really here to find some respite and healing. The place was a bit worn out in spots with nicks in the solid wood furnishings and faded cabinets. Yet we could overlook its flaws as the food was hot and wholesome and the room was clean with perfectly tucked corners on our bed: even on the second night. We visit hotels often and prefer a high end hotel. This property meets our expectations with the surprise of crown moldings, the gallery of historical photos along the corridors and a genuine display of hospitality from the staff. Well done!…
Stayed here last night, hotel is starting to look worn ,carpets need a good cleaning , elevator was quite dirty, bathrooms need a paint ,beds and pillows comfy, staff pleasant, breakfast was ok. Good location . Overall it seems a low grade hotel and needs a really good cleaning
We had a very pleasant stay, right up to the point when they started clearing the snow in the parking lot a little after 5 a.m. My wife and I are fairly deep sleepers, but the noise was sufficient to wake us both, and to keep us awake for the two hours it took them to finish the job. This wasn't just the banging of heavy equipment, it was the constant beeping as vehicles backed up. I understand that this was a job that had to be done, but it's inconceivable that management weren't aware it would disturb the guests at that time in the morning. The only reasonable conclusion is that they just didn't care.
Hotel checkin was awesome..the restaurant I have to say was ok but the fans where very dirty. Looked like they have not been cleaned in quite some time ..otherwise great food and a nice place to stay..
The hotel was very dirty and had cigarette butts in the elevator. Would not stay there again would. It give me back my money said could refund a room. While other people who stayed there for her money back :( was gross. The food is very over priced. 30$ for yogurt and fruit. The bathtubs were unsafe and felt like you were going to fall.
Hang out in the lobby or hallways and enjoy the fresh aroma of freshly smoked pot... stay long enough and breathe deeply enough and you may not even care that your room didn’t have any pillows for the hide-a-bed that your kids are sleeping in. Don’t worry, the kids won’t mind staying up until midnight waiting for them to bring them up. Save your money and sleep in your minivan.
