I spent quite a bit of time looking for the best hotel for our overnight stay driving back from Cold Lake to Calgary. I chose this hotel because the overall review score was good, and it had a nice looking pool and hot tub. Upon checking in I discovered the pool was closed due to some excuse about "a child having an accident in the pool." I don't buy it. I work at a school that has a therapy pool, and closure is only necessary for about 30 minutes. Secondly, the hotel presents BADLY. There is construction debris piled up in an open room just off from the main reception. I guess they're doing some kind of renovations and according to reviews, it's been like this for about a year. Due to the construction (most likely,) they have white tablecloths draped over everything in the main entrance which looks sloppy. The floors are dirty probably due to constant traffic and workers. But my husband had to go up to the fourth floor to get ice as apparently that was the only for the head ice for some bizarre reason. Then he discovered the only one of the elevators was working. I have stayed in many hotels over the years, and this was trulya disappointment. …
We stayed at this property for 2 days to escape a local heat wave, and were quite satisfied with our room- it was clean and well supplied, and the air conditioning was in good working order. It would have been helpful if there had been some kind of hotel services guide in the room, but there was not. The included breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was refreshingly cool, but the hot tub was too hot. The hotel has a somewhat awkward roadway access. Overall, I felt it was good value for what I paid.
So we stayed here a year ago and enjoyed it, so we thought we would come back. Mistake. Staff still friendly. But I called in advance to make sure we could a dog friendly room.... No problem they said. At this time they never told me they were doing construction, or that there would be a million screaming children running up and down the hallways all day and night, and children occupying the hot tub so you can't even relax and make getting your breakfast miserable in the morning. A little warning about this would have been appreciated so I could have not been here for that. There was no hot water for our diets on the evening or in the morning. So if you enjoy cold showers come here. Also when we checked in they had no record of us having a dog, so we got put up on the fifth floor.... Not a huge deal if the elevators were not the slowest things in the world. (my partner has a crap knee so he could not do stairs, I did though) also we pick up after our dogs. The amount of garbage, and dog poop around the hotel made me feel like I was staying in a bad unsafe area. The hotel should at least clean up outside. Gross. Also no parking what so ever here. People were parked everywhere. Absolute crap this time around. I would never stay here again. And I am VERY FRUSTRATED that I had to pay to stay at a hotel that ruined my vacation to Edmonton. …
My husband and I stayed for just one night coming from out of town. We had a spacious room on the 6th floor with king bed and large bathroom. Pillowtop mattress was awesome and we slept well. The top floor was quiet, we did not hear anyone, even though the hotel was busy. Hence, we had to park a little ways off the main entrance which was not ideal, but found a side door that provided access closer to the car. Our stay included a hot breakfast (for $95.00/night- great value) and the buffet had plenty to choose from including fresh fruit, cereals, various breads and hot breakfast foods. The staff was very courteous and helpful making sure we had everything we needed during breakfast.
Quick stay at the holiday inn express and suites. I’ve stayed here many times in the past I have never experienced a problem. located close to the Edmonton airport with reasonable rates and lots of parking.
