It is my second stay at the Courtyard Edmonton West. I had picked it because of it's location on the West end and near many eateries, the famous mall of course and the highway to Spruce Grove, and Stony Plain where we have friends. On our previous trip is was almost at the end of Covid so this time there was a lot more life around us!
The hotel has an on site restaurant where they had a breakfast promo for $15 - we tried the breakfast which was excellent - you could have whatever was on their menu. The service was great as usual - whatever we needed was looked after immediately.

We chose this hotel for its location as we were planning lots of visits with friends and family and it was easy to get out to surrounding areas (e.g., St. Albert, Stony Plain) from here. The lobby is big, quiet, and comfortable for hanging out in. The room was cool and had everything we needed. It had a nice pool and hot tub, great for relaxing in the evening. From an accessibility perspective, the beds are a bit high but everything else was manageable for people with limited mobility (e.g., easy to get in and out of the shower).
The restaurant was good and the food came quickly. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a complicated reservation with two rooms and people all arriving and leaving at different times and they had no problem figuring it all out. We were there for the Stanley Cup finals and the restaurant staff made an effort to come serve us in the lobby where we were watching on the big tv, which I am pretty sure was above and beyond their job. The Oilers lost, but we still had a good time.

We love staying at the Marriott brand hotels and this one was no different. We were checking in at the same time as a sports team, so I was nervous about the noise. The front desk agent had dispersed the team rooms throughout the hotel and I was grateful for that. Our sleep was quiet and comfortable. The room was impeccably clean and the hotel was modern.

Unfortunately our stay did not meet our expectations. We travelled to Edmonton for a hockey tournament (17 players/families, three coaches and a trainer) so we were a large group.
The hot tub was closed our whole stay. Looked like major construction with tilework removed. The pool was closed for about 1/2 our stay as well.
However, the biggest thing was the unaccommodating nature of management to a large group. I get it "boys hockey team" has negative connotations but they're U15AAA and looking at getting drafted ... they know how and how not to behave. The Head Coach is very strict on behavior so there would be zero problems.
After a later game the team order a bunch of pizzas and came back to the hotel to eat. We planned to sit in the lobby, which is quite large and seating for many. We were told we were not allowed to eat in the lobby as the hotel has a restaurant ... which being 11pm was closed ...
So our coach asked for a meeting room and we were told it would be $300 for the hour to eat. 20 rooms for four nights at ~$200/room is about $16K we dropped and we can't get a conference room for an hour ? C'mon.
Overall, not impressed by the management. We've contacted the tournament organizers who made the deal with the hotel and heard our concerns and will not use this hotel as a partner again. Would not recommend for large groups or sports teams.

My daughter and I stayed for one night in a king bed room. The room was spacious and the bed and pillows were very comfortable.
The pool was open until midnight which was nice to have that later time to enjoy a soak. The pool is quite small and shallow though at only 4ft deep. We only used the hot tub, it was nice and big.
The front desk staff were very friendly, and I thought it was a very nice touch that I was remembered and called by name. We were given water bottles upon check in which was also appreciated. I was offered a late check out so we could enjoy our breakfast without having to hurry to be out of our room.
The lobby is a nice set up with lounge chairs you can sit and watch tv. There is also a lobby bar, we had breakfast there.
I did enjoy our stay and found this to be one of the better hotels in the area depending on what your needs are. I wouldn't recommend if you have kids wanting to swim simply because the pool is so small. I did have to park quite a ways down and walk through an icy parking lot with my luggage because my key cards got deactivated so couldn't use the side door that was closer to get in and out. Other than that it was a good stay.

Excellent Stay! Our first time staying at the West end Courtyard, and our first time post Covid travelling. We booked the large 2 queen room and it was fantastic for my family of 4. The room was HUGE and very very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable (they even passed the teenager test!). With two queen size beds and a pull out sofa in the living room it felt like almost like a little apartment style space, there were 2 tv’s and a cute little sofa, a desk space that also doubled as a eating space, a little mini fridge and convenient coffee bar. It’s the most space we’ve ever had in a hotel room, it was the perfect spot to relax after a long day of shopping…So much space to stretch out and relax and store all your shopping goodies. The location of the hotel makes it a quick and easy place to get wherever in the city you’re going. The ease of the updated Mariott Bonvoy app on my phone to access the front desk was an excellent bonus too. Check in was a breeze, the mobile key was a fantastic new addition. We made a request for a few extras for our room and within half hour we had everything we needed. The common lounge area in the lobby was beautifully decorated. The staff at the front desk and housekeeping members we did encounter were extremely friendly. We liked our stay so much we stayed an extra day! 100% our new hotel for any stay in the Edmonton area. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a clean, friendly, well located and spacious hotel.

The rooms are the best part of this hotel. Quiet, clean, nice layout, and all the necessary amenities. The pool and gym were closed due to covid restrictions which seems odd because they were booking out half hour time slots on my previous trip. If there’s only one person using those facilities at a time you would think they could stay open. The hotel is located in an industrial area so not the greatest location but it is very close to a large outdoor mall. The service from the staff was excellent. They were all friendly and efficient. I would stay here again if I needed to be in the area but otherwise I might try for a better location.

I travel all across Canada presenting seminars. This Courtyard by Marriott hotel is one of the nicest in Canada, and one of my favourite hotels to stay at when we travel out West. The rooms are beautiful and clean. There is a great restaurant at the hotel too. The front desk and housekeeping staff are all lovely. Thank you to Pallabi Roy, the Sales and Event Coordinator, for being so accommodating and wonderful to work with. Pallabi and her banquet staff were an absolute pleasure to work with and ensured our meeting was a success. We will be back in 2023!

We stayed close to home during COVID and planned a few days up north to our beautiful capital city Edmonton. I picked the Courtyard by Marriott West because of its location, the trip advisor ratings etc.
The hotel is totally renovated, We travelled with our older son so we got two rooms with a connecting door, The air-conditioning was great and easy to use. The rooms were on the 3rd floor - very handy to their clean pool and hot tub. They had a bistro downstairs which served breakfast and dinner but was not yet busy, as was almost every place we visited. We just had a couple of drinks there one night. They also have a firepit in the back and it's turned out when you asked.
The staff was great. They do not clean rooms yet, as per many hotels, but of course towels were always sent up. There was a minor mix-up with the billing, but it was quickly resolved.
We will definitely be visiting the Courtyard again.

Worst experience at a higher end hotel ever! The only thing they got right was the type of room I booked. I requested extra blankets and pillows at the time of my booking and that didn’t happen. The pull out bed was small and awful, with the “mattress” only 1” thick you felt every spring in your back! We requested a cot at 11:00 and by 11:45 we still didn’t have it! Not sure what maintenance was doing at that time of night for it to take so long?? I do know that they were not ensuring pool rules were being followed. Since the pool was over capacity at 7-8:45 we waited until 9pm for the adult swim…what a joke! Pool closed at 11 and as I waited in the hallway at 11:45 for my cot I watched groups of wet noisy children get off elevator from being at the pool. I do know they were wet since there were no towels at the pool at 9 and we visited the front desk to request and they never arrived. The elevator was a constant danger with shiny vinyl flooring and constant water on it from pool dwellers that had no towels. The cot finally arrived and it was as bad as the sofa bed mattress except this one squeaked every time you moved and was hard as a rock. After another attempt to rectify this mess they suggested stacking another mattress on top with a cot they ran across the parking lot to get from the Hampton. At 1am with two stacked mattresses we all tried to get some sleep, difficult with the very loud road noise and kids/adults roaming the hallways.
