Shareene at the front desk has been fantastic whenever we stay at the property.
The rooms ( apartments ) in the new tower are fabulous, The two restaurants on site offer a variety of dishes at sensible prices.

Room was not cleaned when requested, towels were left on the dresser and the dirty towels were left in the shower for us to deal with. There was no hot water whenever we tried to shower. The temperature in the room was unmanageable, if the AC was turned off it got too hot and uncomfortable.

First time staying here, usually stay at the Hilton across the road but they had a great deal with $75 gift cards each night.
Was in a room near the pool. The room was satisfactory however it was very noisy with kids using the pool till 10 at night then first thing in the morning. Would have preferred to stay in the newer tower section. Also there were several undesirable characters hanging around the property on a few occasions.

Hotel's Favourite
So far our stay has been great. We have been evacuated from our community due to wild fires and we’re looking for a place that would accept our small pup. We got a room with full kitchen separate bedroom from kitchen/ living room.
What was predicted a few day evacuation will most probably turn into a week or more. Very great full to have this room.

This has to be one of the worst hotels I have stayed at in my entire life. I was put in their new tower section which you can only access from the main lobby through a labyrinth of hallways, stairs and an elevator, a very small room with a tiny bathroom. Being in the city for business purposes and not staying at the room all day I was told if I want my room cleaned each day and the towels replaced (which I was to leave on the floor), I would have to put the room’s door handle hanger outside the room before 10:00 AM which I did at about 8:00 AM, but when I returned to my room at 4:30 PM it was not cleaned. When I called the front desk to complain and have my room cleaned I was told the service manager would call me back. When the service manager finally called back after 30 minutes I was told it was too late to clean the room there was no one available to do so. Fortunately I had left 1 clean towel in the bathroom that I was able to use for another night, but otherwise this was a particularly uncomfortable experience. The hotel has a Chops Steakhouse and a Denny’s Restaurant attached to the hotel which are the only restaurants at the hotel, which are probably the best thing about the hotel.

We came to Edmonton for a girls weekend to reconnect, shop, and enjoy some of the great attractions Edmonton has to offer. We had friends staying at the Quality Inn - that was booked so we decided to stay at this hotel across the street. We reserved a room to accommodate four ladies. We arrived from different direction; including BC; Friday night. Upon check in we discovered the room we had booked for four people for two days only had a king size bed and a pull out “twin” couch! The mattress on the couch was three inches thick and very uncomfortable to say the least! Unfortunately the hotel was fully booked - so we were stuck! The room was very dimly lit with the only mirror being in the washroom. Very unaccommodating for four women. Arriving late Friday night we decided to take advantage of the on site amenities, and enjoy a meal and beverage at Dennys. We weren’t the only ones who wanted to relax there as the individual sitting in the booth across from us decided this would be an appropriate place to take a much needed sleep. This was not an issue with restaurant staff as they all were unaffected as this person slept while sprawled out on the bench. We did enjoy the pool Saturday afternoon and appreciated the sitting area to visit and relax. That was until Saturday night when this area become a place to party and enjoy the game and pool way after the 10 pm closing time. We will say the staff was very friendly and we understand the demands of operating such a large establishment. We visit Edmonton frequently and have stayed at many different hotels. However due to the inconvenience of the inadequate room we will not be visiting this location again :(

The person at the desk was awesome for the night shift! The ice maker in the tower quit and he filled a cooler full for us, carried it to the tower and told us if we need more it was no problem. Halloween was awesome!!!! We had a very large group staying and needed a lot of ice haha.

Staying in Room 1188 which has an odd adjoining room foyer. As I was leaving the hotel room, I opened the hotel room door to find a homeless guy sleeping outside my door in the 4 ft x 6 ft foyer that leads into the hall. This room is on the top floor of the property. I spilled my coffee on myself ant the sleeping beauty on my doorstep which startled him and because he was blocking the exit of the foyer he ran into my room.
I then open the foyer door and yelled "Get the #@#% out of my Room".
I then pushed the elevator and shoved him into it. I took the second elevator down where there was a 4 ft copper pipe laying against the door of the elevator. Good thig he went into the other one.
This is called the Tower suits.
As I was checking out in the main hotel, I explained the story and saw the fellow go into the public bathroom telling the checkout that there he is. I went with her to the bathroom, but the door was locked so she waited with the maintenance fellow.
I received no explanations. Tried the hotel 3 times to discuss before I put this review on Trip adviser. Very disappointed with the lack of response. If this was a single lady or gentleman like my wife or coworkers or child etc. it could and would have been a very traumatic experience. It has secure locks/ security so not sure how a homeless person ends up sleeping outside my door.

Tiny rooms (half the size of a normal hotel room and smaller than an average master bedroom) , wrinkled towels (questioned their cleanliness), poor lighting. Bathroom has tiny shower (no tub). Everything about this hotel was disappointing. To be honest, this is the absolutel worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

We have had a terrible experience staying at the Sandman Hotel Edmonton West (I am actually writing this from the room). Took 45 minutes to check in, we booked a 2 Queen Bed room and were given 1 King with a tiny pullout sofa that will barely fit 1 of the kids. The air conditioning did not work, it is uncomfortably hot in the room. The staff is trying to help but they can only do so much.
The hotel does not have an elevator in the section that we are staying in, and nothing is marked very clearly on how to get to your room.
The hotel is older, and needs TLC. And to top it all off, every hotel in the city is full and we are stuck here. If you're looking for a hotel, this is not it.
