The hotel was located close to family we were visiting. It was unfortunately in some disrepair with a leak over the shower, musty smell, and the room view was of the dumpsters. The morning breakfast was very basic and coffee very poor. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and parking was convenient, but we would recommend some freshening up of the rooms and attention to the quality of the continental breakfast.

Booked via hotels.com for 79$C a night for 2 nights.
Hotel located off 99th st., in a rather industrial part of South Edmonton. Checked in around 9pm, so room was ready..Lobby was rather tired and not very classy. Got a 2 double bed room on second floor. Room was renovated partially as bathroom was modern, but carpet felt old and linen seemed second hand (some from Holiday Inn). Room was clean but needed a good deep cleaning. TV had good selection of channels and was Roku stick friendly.
There is a gym on the ground floor was a bit on the old side. The breakfast was included but consisted of cold items, like cereals, muffins, bread, yogurts, no fruits.
Plenty of parking on site and at least 4 restaurants in the mall (Indian, middle Eastern, pizza, and an excellent sushi place) as well as the many breweries off of the Happy Beer st.

We stayed at the Argyll overnight in April 2003 and it was a very nice place. The staff was pleasant and the reservation system worked out very well. We were happy with the room. It was very large and had good beds, a big couch, a work table and average bathroom. The only trouble with the place is its location. The hotel is in Southeast Edmonton and in a very industrial part of town. So a car is manditory to get out of the area. Once you are on the roads it is only a 25 minute drive to most of the attractions of Edmonton including West Edmonton Mall. The hotel is moderate and bland in its decoration. It has a nice, very small whirl pool. We got a great rate, it was a wintertime special at $60 per night. Overall, it is a nice place to stay and we would go back again.

Odd. This hotel has it's rooms above retail and the hallways are super retro. (Bring you gogo boots :). The staff were great and the reservation was super easy. We had our dog with us. The room was super clean and perfectly adequate for our needs. If you get a room facing the front, you can actually keep an eye on your vehicle too.

We were hoping to find a nice hotel for a very reasonable price . Instead we found a wonderful gem of a hotel ! Room was extremely spacious with 2 comfy queen beds and a pull out couch. Bathroom was huge. Lovely hair products and shower gel. Shower head was amazing. Our 3rd floor room was quiet...didn't hear a thing all night even though hotel was fully booked. Even though it wasn't a hot breakfast, there was lots of variety. My only suggestion would be to move more tables into the lobby. It to be awkward when trying to get onto the fridge or get drinks. By the way you could get breakfast until 11. Thanks to the friendly hotel staff .

We were attending a concert at Union Hall so the location was perfect. Hotel is dated but rooms are large and spotless. Beds comfy, complimentary coffee in rooms and complimentary cold breakfast. Staff…stellar! I would definitely stay here again..great price

We stayed there again since they have done more renovations. Great staff, friendly, clean. We were not able to get the hot breakfast due to Covid 19 pandemic. If anything was not working, they came right then to assist you. Then you find out that someone unplugged the lights and you had to move furniture to find that out. Pet friendly. We have stayed here many times over the years and always had a good experience.

This is the most grusome, horrific and down right disgusting hotel I have ever seen.
A rundown of what was wrong with the room:
1: The lights didn't work. 2: The door looked like it had been busted in. 3: There were stains all over the floors and walls and the coffee table. 4: The blankets and sheets were ripped and and looked like they had cigarette burns in them. 5: The windows were filrthy. 6: The "kitchenette" looked like it was installed in (and not maintained since) 1948. 7: The faucet on the sink dripped continually. 8: The location of the hotel was in a business park, surrounded by industrial buildings.
It was a disturbing experience. We left after searching for a different hotel for over an hour. When we truned in our key at the front desk, the lady working did not seem at all surprised with our disgust or intent to leave. I wish we had taken photos of the filth but we just wanted to get out of that place.
We sighed in relief when we found a new room at the friendly and beautifully furnished Delta hotel.

I have stayed at the Argyll hotel at least 20 times over the past 8 years. It is an older hotel, but has had many renovations to the rooms and lobby to keep it spruced up. It has become my "home away from home" whenever I visit Edmonton. It is not a fancy hotel - don't expect 5-star furnishings or amenities, but it is clean and affordable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It has a large tiled jacuzzi-type spa pool as well as a sauna, which I have often had all to myself. The rooms are much larger than most hotel rooms with a sectional sofa/coffee table sitting area. Continental breakfast (juice, coffee, toast and english muffins) is available in the lobby, although Rosie's restaurant, which is connected to the lobby, offers full breakfast meals for $4.99 or less! The hotel is only about 10-15 minutes from the University Hospital, and the hotel does offer special hospital rates if you are having some treatment at the hospital. The kitchenette rooms offer a small all-in-one kitchen unit which has a sink, stovetop, small fridge and cabinets. The location of the hotel is in an area that seems a bit industrialized, and is not right in the heart of the shopping areas. However, it is only a couple of blocks off of Calgary Trail/Gateway Blvd which are the main streets to the very commercialized southern end of Edmonton. Only about 10-15 minutes from loads of shopping and restaurants. I have given this hotel a rating of "3" dots because it is an "average" hotel, but if I were to be rating the value of the hotel I would have assigned it an "excellent" rating.
