This was my second stay at Lister guest house. My daughter studies at Uofa and myself with my wife stayed at this property for almost a week. The best part is that the guest rooms were very close to the Lister residense where my daughter stays and we were like closely connected. The rooms were similar to that of hotel rooms and had all the basic amenities that of a 3 star hotel including house keeping services, 2 double beds, Led TV, mini refrigerator, ironing facility, coffe maker etc. The price was quite reasonable when compared to the hotel rooom and if you are on a visit to the University this is the right place to stay. I had an excellent stay and will definitely choose this again on my next visit.

This facility was ideally located 2 blocks from hospital. Very clean and comfortable. Good access to essential food and entertainment. Feather duvet cozy bed. A very discreetly hidden gem for out of town patients very reasonably priced. Pass the word.

Basically this hotel is good for a business trip specially if you have a conference in Lister Center. Very close to the university and cheap accomodation. Internet is available although you have to bring your own ethernet cable or purchase it from them for $15. Two cafes in the same building, including a Tim Hortons (very useful in winters, you dont need to step out in the cold).

We planned to stay here because the attached conference centre was hosting the event that brought us to town. We were in the room for under 5 minutes before we sought other accommodation. It was 30°C outside and 28°C in the room. No AC. I thought maybe blowing the fan over ice from the machine down the hall might help. The machine was broken.

This place might be fine in the winter but don't even think about it in the heat.

And the conference centre was HOT, too. I don't know how they get summer bookings.

Conveniently located, and comfortable accommodation. I will definitely stay here again. Love the quick access to my meeting, the opportunity to walk green space, as well as close by (walking) to a variety of eating options. Great guest service check in experience, and an easy walk through the conference space to the guest rooms. As a solo female traveling, I feel at ease here. I also really enjoy being on the UofA campus as lots to see and do.

crappy residence room and very overpriced. Hot and' no frills service. Good points are not too far from strathcona and downtown but I would not stay there again due to it being very overpriced for what you get.

My wife and I stayed at the University of Alberta Guest Accommodation for 2 nights July 24 check in, checking out 26 July, 2014. No A/C. Period! Hot stuffy room! The room had 1 fan. We ask the FD and they told us no room has A/C. Very small window does not allow fresh air circulation. My wife likes to take her bath. The room had shower only. Hallway is boiling with heat; no fresh air, no a/c. Bed was good. But when it is too hot in the room for sleep even a good bed does not do the trick. We will not go back. Costly for very low grade place.

Recently stayed for a university function. I came to the room, pulled back the comforter, and sat down but something was weird - the bed was wet (and the comforter was not). Immediately called the desk & changed my room. I checked out before the desk opened (only open 7am to 11pm). I emailed them to inform them of this horrific incident and now I have incurred dry cleaning costs (was wearing expensive dress when I sat down). I have not heard back. AVOID this place!!

We stayed here while visiting our nephew at the U of A hospital. It is very reasonably priced and the rooms are very quiet, clean and comfortable. The location is very good as we were able to walk easily about 2 1/2 blocks to the hospital. The LRT station is right at the hospital as well, so it is quick, easy transportation downtown or to the Southgate mall. Parking was included in our hotel rate and it was located right outside the building. A coffee and pastry were provided at the Tim Hortons downstairs by showing your room keys. The booking and front desk staff were all helpful. I would highly recommend this place.

Room Tip: We booked a room at the far end of the hall for quietness. We did not hear any hall traffic at all.
