We came into town and decided to stay here. We were only exploring whyte ave so we only needed a room to sleep in, wasn’t spending much time in the room at all. When we checked in the front lady that night was nice and friendly!! We explored and had a good night room wasn’t terrible but wasn’t the best either. With a deposit the room was 208. Said we would get our deposit back the morning we checked out. So we went to the front desk in the morning checked out and all was great. Few days had pasted and we still hadn’t received our 100 dollar deposit back. So I phoned the hotel, told the lady I hadn’t received my deposit back on our room, she then told me “it was not her problem” umm I’ve worked in the hotel industry so I know you do not speak to your costumers that way. Maybe I do have to phone my bank directly however, it’s not even showing on my statements that a deposit was put back on my card as it was suppose to be it’s just showing we paid 208 dollars for a room. She was terrible terrible terrible to deal with. And needless to say we will not ever be back to stay regardless of what we plan on doing in the city. This lady was rude when we checked out and she was rude when I called to inquire about my deposit. And we still have not received our deposit back! Terrible terrible front desk staff!! The room wasn’t worth 108 dollars at all and the fact we haven’t received our 100 dollar deposit on a already dive of a room really upsets me and the fact that we called to inquire and she was as rude as she was, upsets me even more!! So heads up to all, there’s a lot cheaper nicer rooms for 100 dollars rather than dealing with a extremely rude front desk staff!

Terrible Hotel. The room was so rough around the edges it was falling apart. Bed was awful, telly didn’t work, smelt awful and was seriously in need of some TLC. The lady at the front desk was not approachable, rude and very unprofessional. Signed up for shared bathrooms as part of our stay. They smelt so strongly of urine and were not maintained regularly and the toilet lock did not work. Lobby area and stairs filthy and could do with a vacuum. Hope people don’t make the same mistake I did by staying here.

One of the worst places I have ever stayed. Where to start. Lady working at the reception, rude and unprofessional, but that’s only the start of it. The smell of the place would make a donkey sick. The bed. Laughable, it was completely downhill so felt like I was sleeping downhill all night had to share bathroom and did not even feel safe going to bathroom. Then for final the tv would not work so all in all it may be a cheap stay but it sure is a woeful experience.

hotels, bars, and sleeping areas in old Edmonton, central to and convenient for most visitors to the city, south of the river. The prices are very good, it's a walk up, nothing fancy, but, nothing shabby either. Some rooms have private bathrooms, some shared...prices are reflective. Compact place, rear parking a little awkward, but, accessible!....stayed for Grey Cup

Really appreciated the bag pipes and drums. Disappointed no Guinness on tap and no real drink specials unless drank green beer. Same old regulars even though have not been here in a year. Piped in Irish music to loud to hear others. Next year will go to black dog.

Decent place. Rooms are a little rough around the edges. Parking is free and it is in the middle of all the good pubs. Taxis and Uber to the downtown are 12 dollars each way so the hotel almost paid for itself. Liquor store open late underneath and the people are very friendly. Definitely would stay again.

the room was basic just a bed and TV with a sink. I only wanted a place to crash as I was travelling and only there for a couple days. The bar downstairs has great music and the rooms are really just a bed and old TV nothing else well sorry there was a sink as well. what can I say if you want a cheap place to stay in a fun neighborhood this is the place to be.

This was easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was disgusting. The television did not work, the phone was dead and the wifi was non existent. The room was super hot and when we asked for a fan to go with our air conditioning we were given a heater. A man across from us clearly had mental health issues and was kicked out. We asked for a refund and were told that would not be happening. the only good thing was the location and the blues bar on site.

Thankfully we were only here for a weekend! We stayed here to save some money and while the price was great the hotel was not. The room was in pretty poor condition - dirty carpets, no table lamp, door didn't close properly and rough towels. There are no amenities here (coffee, ice machine, fridge, iron, etc.) so plan to bring your own stuff if you need any of the extras. It was also very very cold - at least the bed linens were new and cozy! The positives are that the staff are very friendly and helpful and there's a great blues bar downstairs with live music. The location is awesome, as you are right on Whyte Ave in the middle of all the action. We kept making jokes about it and made the best of the situation but I really wouldn't recommend staying here. While the location is great the hotel definitely needed some basic upgrades to be considered nice or comfortable. Hopefully management is planning on putting some cash into this cool building in the near future!
