Bit dated in some areas, but overall looks good. Good breakfast buffet with fresh fruit and lots of options. Exterior parking lot. Nice sized room with lots of shelf space and bar fridge. Small bathroom but good amount of shelf space. No issues with a/c or water pressure. Allowed late checkout at 2 pm. Decent fitness centre. Starbucks immediately adjacent. Not sure about the area it's located in, seemed a bit sketchy.
Haven't been back to our favourite hotel for four years and it was like coming home! It speaks a lot when you see so many of the same staff. Our room was great, as usual, but the real treat was that fabulous breakfast! Excellent check in and check out times. Thank you for making our first outing back to Edmonton so special.
Absolutely loved this hotel and room!! Stayed 2 nights. Loved the colors and the theme. The staircase with glass railing leading to the Mezzanine floor where the restaurant is, was really neat. The room was super clean with every thing you need and more. Fridge and nice coffee station with lots of real glasses including wine glasses. Bed very clean and comfortable. I can honestly say I was very impressed with all of it. Staff super friendly! Tasty hot breakfast included as well. Coffee was also super good!! Staff in the restaurant also very nice and friendly. I will come back and highly recommend to anyone I know coming to Edmonton!! Thank you!! Jackie S
Great value for a comfortable sleep and fabulous breakfast. I was accommodated for an early checkin as I was attending a wedding there. Everything about the venue for the wedding was very good. Will definitely recommend to others.
We stayed for three nights at Matrix. Planned for two but enjoyed it so much, we extended our stay. We booked the King room but were upgraded to the suite through Expedia and wow! It was beautiful, spacious, with wonderful windows and light. The front desk staff were fantastic - Nicole was super helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was excellent with lots of options and an espresso-based coffee machine! A wonderful surprise. Highly recommend this hotel.
Central location, comfortable rooms, substantial breakfast. And the hotel supply bikes on which to explore this flat city, I’m not usually a bike rider but I managed well, no hills unless you choose to ride to the river. Friendly staff, stayed for six nights to attend family wedding, reception was in the hotel so suited fine. And not too expensive. Would recommend and would use in future.
It was our first visit to Edmonton. We really enjoyed our stay at the Matrix hotel. It was centrally located with easy access to mass transit. The breakfasts were awesome. Our room was very clean, roomy, and comfortable. I would highly recommend the hotel.
Just got back from a weekend trip and stayed at the Matrix - no real complaints here! Room was spacious and came with blackout curtains; bed was comfy and I slept really well! The complimentary breakfast was good too - we especially liked the espresso bar machine (a good little Illy espresso latte) and the mini pastries/cinnamon rolls. Check in/out was painless, and parking was reasonable, though you may struggle if you have a big vehicle as the lots are a bit narrow. If you’re a light sleeper, I’d try to request a non-corner room - the water columns are located in the stairwells, and you can hear them from the corner room. Wasn’t an issue for us, but we sleep like the dead!
Coming into Edmonton, I was looking for a place close to downtown and near where I would have my meetings. I booked at the Matrix based on the pictures and reviews. I was so glad I did. From the minute I arrived I felt welcomed by the staff. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The gym was well equipped and clean (albeit a bit dark). The public areas were spotless and modern. The breakfast included was outstanding. Tons of choices and all fresh. Rivalled hotels far more expensive. Overall, I would highly recommend and will be staying there again on my next trip out.
The check in was good, rooms clean and bed very comfortable. Centrally located and easy to get to. Great hiking trails close by. The included hot breakfast was excellent and varied by day. All staff encountered were friendly. My wife dropped her wedding ring down the sink drain, on our anniversary no less, and maintenance was at the room within 5 minutes and had the drain disassembled and the ring back on her finger within 10 minutes. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return to the Matrix should we return to Edmonton.
