Was passing through while driving the ALCAN. They have some pet-friendly rooms, I believe the charge was an extra $15/night for the pet. A bumpy check in process as they said they had multiple reservations for me even though I only booked once, may have been a glitch with booking through a 3rd party website. Overall was a decent stay, some drains were very slow to drain, beds were fine, nothing special. Provided a Styrofoam container continental breakfast in the morning. Check out was smooth. I would stay here again when passing through.

My husband was in Grande Prairie to see a sick family member at the very nearby hospital. I called for a reservation at this location and spoke with Kyla who gave an excellent rate and provided outstanding service. The hotel exceeded expectations and was perfect for his needs. BUT, here is the best part. Two days after my husband got home (to Ontario) he discovered he had left a pull over/hoodie in the unit. It was a favourite of his and an NHL branded one which was a gift and would be costly to replace. He basically wrote it off at that time as previous experiences have always seen such things be absorbed and never reported found. I called Kyla and she called back in minutes saying she found it and the following day she sent it to us! WOW, that is rare and uncommon honesty and integrity! Towels were fine, water pressure in the shower was fantastic. Everything else - not so much. The room was quite outdated and smelled musty. The beds were ancient and super uncomfortable. You could also hear other guests very easily. Also, when we were walking through the lobby, we heard an employee at the front desk calling out to another employee and using inappropriate language. It did the job but would not stay here again.

PROS Good location Breakfast was decent Attendants at check in & out were friendly The water slide was great and our toddler loved it. Although it’s VERY fast so I definitely suggest double riding with littles. CONS Room smelled like ... sweat? Room was small for 2 queen beds - one bed was inches away from the AC you couldn’t even walk on that side of the bed. Beds literally looked thrown together when we walked in and there were hand/fingerprints all over the headboards. Husband spotted an empty water bottle behind the desk as soon as we walked in. Bed was TERRIBLE! I have never had a worse sleep in a hotel than I did at this one. It was so hard. Pillows were lumpy. Hot tub has seen better days and needs an upgrade. Also, we had the jets on for a few minutes and the chlorine was burning my eyes. Another lady asked if I would like her to turn them off as she said my entire face was going red. When we came back from dinner the evening attendant was ... I don’t even know how to put it. She was in a zip up hoodie that is reminiscent of taking a late night trip to Walmart, she did not look like she wanted to be there and she wouldn’t even get out of the chair to serve her customer. I had called the night before our stay and am willing to bet this was the same woman who answered the phone and did not at all sound like she enjoyed her job. I was in Grande Prarie for the first leg of a film shoot. I travel often for work and the hours, scedulling can be quite demanding at times. Their location, ammenities and staff at Service Plus made my stay that more smooth. From their amazing food (comp.) & plush hotel bathrobes to "the little things"- which set them apart from the common. Their rating will match that of our film- genuine 5-STARS!!!!!

This was a very nice hotel, friendly staff and close to food establishments and we would HIGHLY recommend eating at the steak house! The food was delicious, kind of a hidden gem in Grande Prairie....we had the seafood platter!

The minute I walked into this place I knew it was not good. You’re hit with a massive amount of air freshener as soon as you walk in so if you have allergies be prepared. I managed to check in and went up to my room; took one look and left; the bed looked like it was ready to fall apart, the comforter was gross and the couch looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the place was built. I asked the girl at the front desk if all the rooms were the same and she said yes so cancelled and went elsewhere. The room I was given was not at all like the pictures they advertise. Rooms need a total makeover! I would not recommend this hotel at all.

We booked this hotel 3-4 months prior to arrival for our team who was participating in a ball hockey tournament. We had talked to the hotel and put in our requests for rooms to be close together, knowing that it is not 100% possible, but hoped they would try hard. It is logical - keep the team together and hope to keep other guests away from the possible racket. We checked into the hotel and found that we were all over the place from floors 1 thru 4. When asked why this would be, the lady said that the Manager was arranging the rooms that morning and that is what we ended up with. Clearly the Manager, if correct, needs to learn how to assign the rooms properly ahead of time. It was the July long weekend - no excuse! There were 2 teams at the hotel, how hard can it be....don't expect 100%, but also 20% of us being together was ridiculous, and wouldn't you know it, some complaints from other guests. We all know the rules and try to abide by them, but these are kids and there are going to be times when some noise occurs. Need to do a better job at planning team rooms. Location is pretty good with easy walk to many shops, restaurants, grocery store and movie theatre. Hotel itself is fine, older looking and in need of renovations. Right next to pub and casino so not the best crowd at night. Rooms are equally adequate, but also in need of renovations with the air conditioning system not being very good. Fitness centre is small and lacks anything decent. The pool, hot tub and water slide - pretty decent size and set up. However the rules they have regarding the water slide are too strict and ruin many people's enjoyment of the facility. They did go over the rules, but again strict and does not allow for some reasoning....in my estimation it is a cop-out on their part so they don't have to deal with it. The rule states that if someone is caught climbing up or on the slide, the pool gets closed....not the water slide, but the entire pool. They are able to spy on everyone with their camera, but they hide behind policy so instead of kicking out the culprits(s) At the very least close the water slide and leave the pool and hot tub open. They don't talk to you, they don't discuss with you, they just close down the entire pool area and get other guests upset. Customer service. There were no signs of above average customer service. On the most part it was ok, but clearly the front desk are powerless to do anything and when we want to talk to the Manager - not there and they certainly did not offer to contact him/her. In terms of overall quality of the hotel - there are many other choices in the better star rating and similar prices. As for team events - don't book here. The lack of organization of rooms and facilities and lack of customer service will not lead to a pleasant experience.…

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review of our hotel and I do apologize for the issues that you described. We have reviewed our security footage from your stay and have also read our reports from the weekend in which our staff were dealing with situations that arose while your team was with us. We would like to assure you that we are very experienced with handling sports teams of all types. We have been the preferred host hotel for Grande Prairie for the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference for over a decade and have successfully hosted thousands of sports teams in that time. Ideally, we try and place all team rooms together for the exact reasons you mentioned above. We were sold out that weekend, we are a very popular hotel for more than just sports teams. We had many longer term guests with us, which made the logistics of placing your team all together impossible. We are unable to move guests that are already in house days before your team checked in to accommodate requests for only a couple of nights. Our front office manager of over 15 years, personally handled your room assignments and made the best of what was available. We apologize that it was not to your liking. Our pool being closed for violations is something in place for ALL guests and is rarely acted upon. Safety is our responsibility and we take it very seriously. If our rules are followed, we do not have to enact the Health & Safety policies set forth by our Head Office. Our management team is available to any guest at any time via email if they are not on site at the time you wish to speak with them. All of the cards are readily on display and available to you at the front desk. Our guests are always welcome to reach out at any time with any concerns, and our management team are always quick to respond, even if they are off duty. In the end, I am not sure what more could have been done on our end to ensure you were happy with your stay. With every review, either positive or negative, it allows our management team a chance to reflect and address any potential deficiencies on our end. We appreciate the feedback.

Stayed here as we usually do when we travel to GP Clean, friendly, beds are good( my BIG thing is beds!) has a pool & waterside, hot tub as well. We skip continental breakfast- not that great- Only thing is ( happens all the time) that when I look/ book online prices are different -so person at front desk makes excuses why their prices go up (never down) deal $136 + and they charge $144 + taxes- They told me before my room was $144 +and I was charged $154+ -that’s frustrating!

Rooms are nice and clean.. House keepers are friendly . but if you need a good fitness center this isnt it. 2 treadmills . 1 completely broken and 1 on its way. No free weights or any kind of weights. You would think with the money the oilfield companies spend here they would invest On such a thing !

Hi Minguia18angel, We are so sorry to hear about the condition of the treadmills in our gym. We do hope that you made mention of this to the front desk, as we just had them serviced in the last few weeks. We did have free weights available until recently, but did make the decision not to replace them after they had been stolen from the room for the 3rd time. As we do know our fitness room is very basic, we offer all of our guests free passes to Motion Fitness just down the road for the duration of their stay.
