For a 'staycation' this year, our family decided to head to Grande prairie for a few nights to visit the Currie Museum. We chose the Grand Inn Residence as it had a kitchen so that we could minimize eating out with covid19 active.
The location was easy to find and put us near the sites that we would be visiting in Grande Prairie and area. They even sent us an email reminding us of our check in when we had not arrived by dinnertime and asking if we had any issues to feel free to contact them.
We had a spacious suite with a full size kitchen (stove/oven/fridge/dishwasher) a bed in the main room and a closed off bedroom. There were also 2 tv's and excellent wifi. A bathroom with a separate room for the toliet and a shower and deep tub finished off the room. The decor is nothing remarkable, but functional and the rooms are set up in a way that makes sense.
The room was clean and although on the first floor looking at the parking lot, quiet. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. There is underground parking that we were able to use . The wifi was fast and easy to sign into.
A few things to note: -Our reservation said their was a dvd player, and there was not. The hotel confirmed there wasn't one when we called, but it should be removed from the booking confirmations -The bathroom is quite dark. Note this if you have smaller children/issues with dark rooms and vision -It would be helpful if there were also some smaller plates available in the kitchen. The large ones are massive.
We would stay here again if we land up in the area again and would recommend it to others if they are looking for a good family hotel that gives you a bit of extra space with full kitchen capabilities.

Book with booking.com was easy. We reduced our stay by one day. They reimbursed us no problem. The rooms were spacious and far better than a stay in a motel room with a little bar fridge. We had two king beds with a full kitchen stove fridge and utensils along with detergent to clean our dishes. Has big tub and nice shower

It was a pleasure for our family of 5 to stay at Grand Inn & Residence in Grande Prairie on October 21st to October 24. The hotel staff were so accommodating and wonderful to work with. Special thanks to the day time management Mel and both staff workers named Sofia. (Yes there is two Sofia's) The underground heated parking was a bonus for the cold and snowy weather we endured. The rooms are huge. We stayed in the 1000 sq foot room with a king and two queen beds. It has a large kitchen and sitting area, separate room with two beds with its own large bathroom. The other side of the living room had access to the king bed with its own bathroom. It even had full size washer and dryers. We would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone staying in Grande Prairie. Great location and close to Cosco. Great price value for what you get.

The Grand Inn & Residence is by far my favorite long term accommodation in Alberta. As a seasonal summer employee spending 4 months in hotels each year with 6 co-workers, we have a diverse list of requirements and expectations. This property definitely "ticks all the boxes" The rooms are large and quiet, have all the amenities, and the location is ideal for our needs. The General Manager Akanshu and his team provided 5 Star support and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that made all of us feel right at home. Special thanks to all the ladies at the front desk that greeted us on a first name basis every day.. Jenn, Geline, and Miss Lynn, and to Becky and her housekeeping staff that did a great job cleaning up after us.. All of you are greatly appreciated and I would highly recommend this property, especially for long term stays. Thanks from the gang with Conair's Group 5 AB.

Stayed here for a night with a couple friends for a ‘staycation’. The suite had two separate rooms with three beds, one room with a king bed and the other with two doubles. There was a bathroom attached to each room. The suite was super spacious, comfortable and clean!
They also have underground parking which is a big perk during northern Alberta winters.

Atrocious service from the front desk manager. We booked a room on Booking.com and ended up having to cancel due to a medical emergency. The hotel graciously agreed to waive the cancellation fee this one time as a courtesy, which was appreciated. When I called to inquire as to the charge still being on our credit card, instead of politely explaining that I would need to discuss it directly with Booking.com, the manager interrupted me multiple times, spoke condescendingly, and argued with me over the details of the previous conversation with the front desk staff. You had a repeat customer when you waived the cancellation, and you lost it with this conversation. Work on your customer service and people skills or don't bother picking up the telephone next time.

We had to travel to Grande Prairie on very short notice for medical reasons, severe leg injury, the staff at the Grand Inn and Residence were amazing. The hotel was very busy, very few rooms but they arranged for us to have a ground floor room due to my limited movement. I ended up needing surgery the next day so my wife needed the room for 2 more nights which they accommodated her with no problem. Sandi and the staff made our situation that much better with us not needing to worry about a hotel room...thank you so very much!

I have stayed here a few times with the family and have never been disappointed. The rooms are clean, spacious and cozy. Beds are comfortable and the bathroom is nice. I will definitely be staying here again. It is like a home away from home. Only complaint is that the front desk staff could be a little more friendly.

Staff was pleasant and help if needed. Rooms were amazing, and the manager took amazing care of us.
In a time of covid, the place was spotless. The underground parking would be super nice in the winter, and even in the spring was nice not to have to walk through the rain.
