We have travelled here for the same week for the last 4 years. This year, unfortunately is likely our last. We have the same Cabin (Cabin 8) every year and this year we had mice. They had no solution.

My boyfriend and I stayed here three nights. We were not in in our own cabin. We had a room in the "Lodge" which is an upstairs area with about dozen rooms connected to a community room (which has micro/fridge for everyone to share) and sits on top of the hotel restaurant/kitchen. First off, a warning -- avoid the lodge...

I had to travel back to Australia urgently and your staff were more than willing to help me find immediate, unbooked, accommodation, and cancel a booking that I had with you that I could not attend as I had to fly back to Australia to assist my very ill husband.

Wonderful, peaceful environment. Great accomodations, staff and lovely grounds. At the end of day of adventures, it was nice to come back to a welcoming cottage where you could prepare your own meals and enjoy the sunset and great friends. I would definetly stay here again. 5 stars :)

Had not great experiences at two previous lodge type accommodations which had been booked for us by travel company, but having adjusted our expectations to lodge type rooms, this has been the best so far. Although beds small and dark wood making rooms dark and heavy, was well cared for, appropriately equipped and very comfortable, especially the beds. (We took...

I called to book a cabin for the weekend for my husband, myself and my 11 month old. Reservations told me that they had a cabin available with a double bed. I said that would be ok as long as there was plenty of room in the cabin for a playpen and my daughter to run around. He said absolutely...

We had an other wonderful stay again at Tekarra Lodge. They go out of the way to make sure you have the best experience with them. I wanted a cabin along the river and when we arrived we had a cabin along the river with a heavenly view. The cabin was very clean, the staff was very helpful and enthusiastic...

Tekarra was a great stay and rooms were just as promised. Staff was friendly and curteous. Would recommend in a second. We saw many animals on our day trips to Malinge Lake and on the hiking trails. Great stay.

From the cozy cabins, to an absolutely spectacular food experience, Tekarra was the perfect choice for a birthday getaway. We can't wait to visit again. Even through a power outage during our stay, the staff was incredibly friendly, and professional, regardless of the pressure. There really isn't enough that we can say about the Tekarra Restaurant. To call it an...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled deep in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Tekarra Lodge enjoys an enviable location within Jasper National Park, the largest of the national mountain parks in Canada, 4200 square miles in area. Jasper became a National Park in 1907 and the town site's first buildings were constructed in 1911, then Jasper was known as the town of Fitzhugh. Tekarra Lodge is located across the river from the base of its namesake, Tekarra Mountain. Tekarra Mountain, towering 2635 meters above us is named for the Iroquois guide and hunter who accompanied Sir James Hector on his expedition through the Rocky Mountains during the mid-1850s. The skill and devotion of the guide Tekarra saved the lives of the members of that expedition. He sustained and fed them during the grim and bitter winter with caribou that he hunted on the mountain. It was because of this devotion that Sir James named the mountain Tekarra. The lodge grounds form the banks of the confluence of the Athabasca and Miette rivers. This land is maintained in its natural state, and offers a wonderful study for nature lovers. Tekarra's marked nature walk, and the Indian totem poles give pleasure to all ages. The area and history in and around the property is a fascinating one. One of the first settlements of Jasper called Henry House may have been located adjacent to the lodge on the south side of the river. Even today, there is still indication of an old homestead and some outbuildings. Tekarra Lodge was built circa 1947 and initially consisted of only a few cabins, some of which are standing today. ... more   less
