First stayed here in 2008, and returned to stay in a non-smoking room for a couple of days in June 2013. Since coming under new management a while back, the cleanliness of this motel has improved significantly, as has the wifi signal. However, other things have taken a turn for the worse: check-in staff were unfriendly bordering on hostile, and our non-smoking room smelled so strongly of smoke that we ended up having to wash absolutely everything that had been in the room, regardless of whether the clothes had been used or not. Would not recommend.

As i drove down to Lethbridge my thoughts couldn't drift from the terrible reviews i read before leaving. Yet writing this review sitting in said hotel relaxing in my room ,i feel all the worry was for not, with views of scribbled walls and bug infested beds in my head i was relieved to walk into a clean room, with all the promised amenities. it was everything it was online. Fair price for good room, no 4 star hotel, but honestly with this price, its hard not to be happy. Obviously the new management is doing something right.

Where do I start? Bathroom door didn't shut tight enough to latch. Had to flush the toilet twice every time you used it. Air conditioner sounded more like a jet engine, couldn't sleep with it on. Our room used to be a smoking room, we could tell by the cigarette burns in the carpet. One bed was coming off the base, we had to unmake it and take the mattress off in order to lift the box spring back onto the base. The pool was closed for the season, in the middle of summer. Microwave wasn't even big enough to cook popcorn in it let alone a tv dinner. New name new management same problems

Floor dirty, staff rude, beds iffy, toilet broken/overflowed, dents in walls, chipped paint. Nice location though, dusty, nonrefundable, charge for smoking. Plenty of other hotels near.
Wouldn't recommend.

I definitely wouldn’t recommend this motel if you like cleanliness. It is the dirtiest room I’ve ever been in. I must say I think the sheets were clean, but that was about it… Otherwise I would not have stayed, but it was a long day and late at night, so I really had no choice once I checked in. There were balls of hair in the corners, the carpet was not vacuumed, especially around the edges, the tub looked dirty… Everything was Scuzzy. I got up early and just couldn’t wait to leave but I decided I would take a look at the breakfast room… Wow, that was even more disgusting. The stairs on the way up were full of Froot Loops and dirt and grime… I turned around and walked out… Never again, and I do not recommend.

I have never written a negative review before. I have also never switched motel rooms before. But this weekend I did. Three times.

We booked this motel because it had a good location with non-smoking rooms available and an outdoor pool on a very hot weekend.

We raised our eyebrows at the price - 90 a night, which seemed high for the type of establishment - but figured we would give it a try.

We shouldn't have.

Friday night we check in. Our room is large. 292. The TV is broken. There was sound but no picture. Weird, but whatever. We booked a motel mostly just to sleep. But the higher price bothers me so for the first time in my life, I brought the problem to the attention of the front desk staff in the morning. We were on our way out, but they said they knew that room had a broken TV and could not understand why the previous night's staff booked me in there. They offered to have us switch rooms when we came back. No problem.

That afternoon we came back and switched rooms 294. The room - non-smoking - reeked of cigarettes. It was also missing a lampshade on the main lamp... and.... the TV was broken. The same issue.

Immediately they moved us into another room. 290. The room was way smaller, but the TV worked.

I don't even really care about tv... and by now I'm wishing I'd never said anything. I honestly just figured they should know before the next patron comes through. The AC doesn't work as well in the new room, but there is a pool and this was the first day it was in use, so we went down to check it out. That was fine.

We come back to the room and get in after a couple tries. Go out to supper. Come back... neither of our key cards work. Not even but working... the light doesn't turn red or anything. The lock doesn't read the card at all.

I go get new key cards. The exact same thing. I go back. Once again. The same thing. But this time - 3rd set now - one gave a little blink and we jumped on it and got in. By now the front desk staff is making her way up with another key card, just to have a backup.

We go to a movie. Come back. Not a single card of the 3 works. The lock isnt reading anything. After 10 minutes of trying, I go to the front desk and explain the situation. They rekey them but do follow me to the room. Sure enough, none of them work. Not reading them at all. Not even a blink. So the guy just lets us in with his old-fashioned key. The other worker who came with him mentioned that this was the second room this happened to this night.

The staff was always pleasant in all of this, but really... come on. I imagine a new owner trying to fix things, and new staff, and everything, most be difficult. But I could have paid a few dollars more and stayed somewhere nice. Or several dollars less and stayed somewhere on the same level but with everything that works.

Positives: polite staff, pool, comfy beds
Negatives: everything else.

I've never been so disappointed and frustrated in staying somewhere, and I'm generally fairly easy-going. The staff tried to help and accommodate the issues, but there is only so much they can do.

If you have rooms with these issues, don't rent them out! Fix up a few rooms and rent those only while working on the others. By renting rooms with major problems, you're just trying to screw us out of our money.

3 rooms, 3 issues. Missing cords, lampshades, broken TVs and locks.

I'm sorry we booked here. We spent more than we ever have on a motel and had more issues than we've ever had. Disappointing, ridiculous, and frustrating.

I'm sorry for the staff who have to deal with all of this.

There were balls of hair in the shower. There was an issue with our room and they asked us to pay extra for a different room. We were on the phone with expedia and all three parties agreed on a price. The next day we found out the charged us more than the agreed upon price without our permission and they would not refund it.

Our room was 40ºF(4ºC), it was so cold. We asked them to turn on the heater and they said that heaters won't be turned on until 9:30pm. We were so extremely cold and uncomfortable in our room and had to wear all our layers. It was to the point where we couldn't take it anymore as we are all seniors. They told us to deal with it and we were the only ones complaining. The temperature in our room was a little above freezing! Front desk was very unaccommodating and rude.

Hi,
I stayed at that hotel on the night of August 31 and came back with some scabies from the hotel!!! Yes, nothing less than scabies. Seems like your housekeeping services can surely use some improvements.

$85 + taxes to come back with hours of cleaning, and laundry, not even considering time spent at the clinic and the drugs cost, seems like a rip off to me. (And not even talking about the bad neighborhood and the hotel and room looks...)

I booked this "hotel" online via their own site for a graduate student who came to visit my lab. Location is great, so I booked it after seeing pictures of the rooms. Rooms have kitchenettes, that seemed attractive, good price too. BUT..... When we arrived the lady at the front desk could not find a booking. I logged into my email on my phone, pulled all the records, finally figured out the reservation. This took just 15 minutes.... Then she gave us a room 277, so we went with the guest to make sure she settles in fine. OMG.... We requested a non-smoking room, but the room stunk. The room was not cleaned, there were several towels on the chair, pillow on the table, and no bed linens. The window coverings were dirty and were pinned to the wall. Yuck. At this point we turned around, I went back to the lobby and told that the room was horrible and not clean. Guess what was the response- "housekeeping told me it was serviced" . No apologies, no offer of a different room. I cancelled it all and took the student to stay with my family.
I travel a lot, but I have never thought that my own hometown Lethbridge has such a horrible place where no one cares about guests. This place is just a dump, stay away from it.
I was so embarassed to have chosen this place for a visiting student.

We were very impressed with this hotel. It is under new management and the new owners were very friendly. The room was immaculate and newly decorated. New flooring, bedding, curtains, kitchen cupboards etc. Very cheerful and light. The beds were very comfortable and clean. Typical continental breakfast, toast, yogurt, juice, coffee, cereal, fruit. I would stay there again and recommend to friends.
