We stopped on our way through. The room was tired. The parking was convenient. The direct access door was convenient for our dog.
A few issues: the bathroom fan which comes on with the light was really loud. The fridge had ice build up and froze our food. The fixtures around the sink were dirty and could use a thorough cleaning. The room was unbelievably hot and only with the AC and the window open did it cool ( it was February).

I stayed at the Quality Inn in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Dog friendly. The two people at the desk - Abhijeet and Kari - were very welcoming and delightful! My room was very clean and comfortable. I appreciated that I was given a room on the first floor to easily get my dog out for her business. One observation was that the kitchen needed some attention. I would certainly stay there again.

First time at a Quality Inn, and although things are a bit outdated, my family absolutely loved our stay.

The lady at the front desk was amazing and so accommodating, and even gave us an upgraded jacuzzi suite for a discounted price.

My kids took a quick dip in the pool and we all took turns having nice long soaks in the jacuzzi. The space in the room was so good for my little to burn off some energy after a super long car ride.

The room was so quiet and peaceful, the beds and pillows clean and comfortable. I also loved that I can park right outside of my room. I’ll be back for sure!!

Good afternoon,

Unfortunately, there were far too many issues.

Quality Inn
722 Redcliff Dr SW, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 5E3

June 29 to June 1

Arrived around 830 pm

The room(220) was 87 degrees and after trying to turn down the ac to find it did not work
My husband called to front desk and was told they were dealing with another customer and will call right back.
20 min later they did not call our room back and my husband had to walk back to the lobby to get service. He was told they were very busy. Front desk had 2 people there when he got there.
After talking with each other about changing rooms for us it was decided a staff member would come up and tried to reset the ac unit . The staff member wanted us to stay another hour to see if it cooled down. Only when my husband insisted, did they reluctantly move us to a different room. Instead of saying I will bring you new room keys staff member said you will have to come and get new keys.
The room provided to us with only 1 towel nothing else and after insisting that the two of us need more towels, they brought us only one towel and we were not given hand or face cloths. When asked why only 1 we were told you only asked for 1 towel. Those arrived as we were checking out as next morning as my husband had to walk back to front desk to get the pool towels and was told none were available and housekeeping just arrived and will bring you some to your room.

Next issues
What I thought were cracks in the shower tiles turned out to be left over human hair. One bed was fine, unfortunately I got the bed that any movement of legs and arms made a horrific creaking. The overall cleanliness was good except for the huge gross stain on the soft sitting chair.

We were able to book the pool for swimming but we were warned that it was very cold and it was to cold to go in. The scary part was the condition of the pool ladder was so rickety that it would be considered unsafe and that was the only way in and out of the pool. Any person with mobility issues would not be able to use that pool. On the pool deck was mushed in unidentifiable brown substance.
A hot breakfast is included with Room prices
Due to covid it Understandable breakfast was to go.
However was 2 granola bars, 2 golf ball size muffin and 2 yogurts with one had gone bad.
I attempted to talk with the morning staff at checkout regarding the issues and I was dismissed by her saying what do you expect its an old building. She would not make eye contact nor would she acknowledge me.
We have stayed at many Quality Inn and Suites all over Canada and the USA.
This is definitely not up to the standard of Quality Inn.

We stayed here for 2 nights on easter weekend and got a room for 55$ plus tax. For the price we paid the service was fair. However, the hotel can really improve. There was pet hair on carpet, stairs were dirty, bed cover had stains, our tv didnt work, room belt was broken, no soap or tissue box in room. Pool was good but the fan made it very cold in the area. Front desk was helpful and polite and turned the fan off so the kids could enjoy the pool.

We arrived later in the evening at this Quality Inn and we found the front desk clerk extremely helpful, very friendly and like a breath of fresh air after a long drive. He accommodated our needs for a ground floor suite, the room was very clean and comfortable, plus nice and quiet. The morning staff are equally helpful and friendly, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The room we were put in was an outside access room which was ok wasn't wanting that would have preferred one closer to the pool which is my fault for not requesting so its fine. Also had an issue with the card for the door. The room was very tiny the washroom was uncomfortably small you barely have room to shut the door behind you. the fan made such a horrible noise my sister was to scared to even shower in there. Room was also very dark it had about four lamps in the room but didn't seem to help much. The one bed was also so close to the wall heater we had it set for 19 degrees and it was so unbearably hot to sleep right be side it. The whole room layout was so ridiculous.
The remote for the tv you have to use force to change anything.

We even tried out the swimming pool. There was no towels so we had to walk all the way to the front desk just to get towels and the lady there even told us there was no pool towels left she still have us other towels though. Also the shower room in the basement was so cold it hurt to stand on the floor with bare feet those were also very dark and sketchy. The pool didn't look very clean either.
To me I probably wouldn't stay here again.

We arrived at the Quality Inn and after checking in, we walked up to our room. The carpets were very dirty on the stairs going to our room. It was never cleaned up and we stayed for 2 days. When we got to our room, the carpets were not clean, there was food on the floor. The sink beside the bathroom was filled with water and the stopper was shut/broken and no way of getting rid of the water. We went down and told them and said that someone would look at it the next day, Nobody showed up. The xl mirror in the area were the sinks were, was so dirty. Looked like it was wiped off with a filthy cloth and you can barely see yourself. The jet tub had chunks taken out of the bottom of it and a crack in it. The next morning the wifi was not working, we went downstairs and mentioned it to the staff. Their response was, it was the internet provider's problem, not their's. It needs major updates and the flowers were not watered or taken care of. I also took pictures.
My husband emailed once we got home as the staff didn't help us out at all. This us what they said.

Thank you for taking the time to complete our online survey regarding your recent stay at our hotel.

What an experience. Checked in jan 2, 2024 checked out jan 14,2024 . First get there and the mentally ill woman who lives at hotel kept had a room beside us , kept saying bang bang to me every time I passed by her . Then woke up first morning and full on drug paraphernalia was right outside my hotel door . We stayed because it had outside doors in rooms for our dog to go out . Then kept noticing crazy people all around hotel and drug addicts nodding off in back of hotel . The crazy guy upstairs of our room pounded on the pipes in his room til they broke and water came pouring into our room from ceiling . The drug addicts took everything out of the breakfast area as soon as it was placed there . The fire alarms kept going off whole time we were there . The rooms were completely dirty upon check in and not once did we have a cleaning service nor offered clean towels or sheets . I went to front desk to ask for them and toilet paper and the girl with long hair working desk was so lazy she couldn’t even get off her chair to look . But everything I asked for she said no to . I had talked to management this summer about their cleaning or lack of cleaning the rooms and they said they would take care of it . Obviously they didn’t . The windows were completely covered in ice and room was cold in -35 . This hotel used to be a great spot when it was best western but the new Canadians who took it over don’t seem to care about cleanliness or customer service . They are either housing the mentally ill or I heard it was a half way home as well as hotel . Check out the photos I documented while there . Shows the filth and shows the drug paraphernalia, water coming out of ceiling .
Oh and the one day I went to front desk to ask for a room cleaning cause floors were getting filthy, the house keeper brought me a vacuum and told me to do it myself . First I had to unclog the vacuum before I could use it .
Pull up your socks and do better . Get those lazy people at front desk cleaning as well as hire housekeepers. Pool doesn’t work , no continental breakfast nor coffee available , sketchy people all around building . Very unsafe .
